Obiagelli:I agree that it's not ideal or proper. $9billion is too small for us to start attempting debt servicing of that magnitude. The ministry of finance need to do something about it. |

gbanikiti: could you please stop responding to those who are hell bent on bringing ethnic and religious sentimental nonsense to your thread?Would you shut up and get lost. I'm sure you are either too blind or too retardedd to realize that it was the OP that started the thread with religious sentiments. 1 Like |

trillville: I am Christian and northerner so I guess I qualify to give my opinion. What do you mean GEJ is loose with federal money and wants to bankrupt Nigeria? So you expect devt in a in a tight-fisted government? What did the previous tight-fisted govts achieve? Look at our debt profile of just $9billion for 170million people compared to the US,UK and southafrica with debt profiles of $13trillion,$5trillion and $40billion and two of those nations have far less mouths to feed with far bigger economy than Nigeria. Is it any wonder that Nigeria still lacks adequate basic infrastructure? I'm not saying we should borrow recklessly. I'm saying we should be less tight-fisted with funds for devt and borrow if need be,and also ensure the adequate monitoring of projects those funds were meant for. 1 Like |

Btw,it's obvious beyond all doubts that the majority of christian northerners are pro-GEJ. Though our voting pattern should mature beyond religious bias. 1 Like |

Obiagelli:I don't know what you're telling about. I'm sure those people you are accusing of religious bigotry are not denying the fact that they are bigot. You on the other hand, claim to appeal to a higher form of politics devoid of bigotry, yet you can't act like it. You're a hypocrite, girl. 2 Likes |

Politics / Re: APC Platform Will Include Free Education For Nigerians At All Levels by solomon111(m): 1:03pm On Dec 26, 2013 |
HNosegbe: I understand the points being made by solomon111 and co about the need for quality education, but my question is: MUST QUALITY EDUCATION BE OVERLY EXPENSIVE?Education is already very cheap in Nigeria, though at unsatisfactory quality. Making it free, which is what APC is proposing is ludacrious. We should be looking at increasing quality which would invariably drive the cost of education up. Quality education anywhere in the world even in india is expensive. APC should stop preying on the ignorance of Nigerians by suggesting or proposing daftt,anti-progressive,anti-developmental policies. |

ndu_chucks:The last time i checked,LASU is by far the most expensive govt-owned uni in Nigeria. Don't you think APC should start from there,or are they waiting to get to the centre before doing anything? |

Foreign Affairs / Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by solomon111(m): 11:42am On Dec 26, 2013 |
lol @ cameroon. Their entire defence budget is less than that of the Nigerian police. They're not a problem at all. Their entire military apparatus can be neutralized in 72 hours. Unfortunately,France is what makes invading cameroon a complicated issue. We'll need to begin aggressive military procurement policy for the airforce which is currently absent, to ensure significant deterrence against french rafales. |

ndu_chucks:For a country of 170million with a GDP of 390billion,there's nothing rich about Nigeria atleast for now. Even in california with a GDP of $1trillion for just 5million people, education there is very expensive. Unless you want poor and highly sub-standard tertiary institutions, education can never be free at all levels. |
Politics / Re: APC Platform Will Include Free Education For Nigerians At All Levels by solomon111(m): 9:16pm On Dec 25, 2013 |
Toktee: The biblical solomon was very wised but you are not, niger state governor decleared free education in niger state frm primary school to tertiary institutions and it works,i benefited frm it ok.shut up,you brainless morøn. We're talking of quality education and you're telling me of one morønic governor dishing out a watered-down education system to his deluded masses. How rich is Niger-state or even Nigeria for you to start implementing free tertiary education? America is the largest economy in the world, the amount of money they spend on harvard alone is more than our entire budget for education, yet tertiary education is still very expensive there. Go and get some proper education. |
Politics / Re: Obama & Michelle Sit-out At A Restaurant-can Gej And Patience Do This? by solomon111(m): 8:56pm On Dec 25, 2013 |
This's not a big deal especially when you take the pecuilarity of the Nigerian society into factor. Eating in public restaurants is not a function of a good president or good governance. 1 Like |

Any political office holder or party that promises free education at all levels is an enemy of Nigeria's advancement. Education is not and cannever be free at all levels,if you want quality. Anybody that campaigns with that has already proven himself unsuited for the post. |

That dude can cause an earthquake in GEJ's stronghold. Unfortunately,APC is too far up the north's as$-hole to even realize that. |

Unless we fought for our right step him down by force or make sure he arrives to the hell soon, the idiotic and tribalism activities of GEJ is astronomically boosting!why didn't yaradua and all your nothern presidents transform your non-existent economy? Afterall, the north has been in power for decades. Why're you blaming jonathan who is just in his 3rd year in office.? Keep blaming jonathan, and don't hold your leaders responsible. Hbuyosh: Big deal? Kenya and Ghana have developed their quite impressive infrastructure despite their meagre resources. Infact, Ghana's mineral resources is greater than Kenya's. They got gold, iron and I believe, diamonds etc, we here only talk of salt and limestone. They both discovered oil, so hopefully, things are looking up for the two little African giants. The southafrican economy is no longer the largest in Africa. They've been displaced. I respect kenya, but its industrial capacity cannot be compared with Nigeria or southafrica. |

Look at the catholics on thread bragging about their population. They forget that Broad is the way that leads to damnation. The fact that catholicism is the biggest dosen't validates the sect, afterall islam has over a billion adherents. God is interested in quality not quantity. Only eight people survived the flood in Noah's time. No matter how old a lie is,it dosen't suddenly becomes the truth. 2 Likes |
