minfelix: LESSONS FROM AFCON 2023!
✍️ Ivory Coast lost two out of three group matches but still made it to the final. They had a second chance and made the most of it. Life will sometimes give you a second chance—don’t waste it. Never give up on yourself!
✍️ Ivory Coast suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat against Equatorial Guinea, yet they reached the final while Equatorial Guinea got eliminated. Victory today doesn’t make you the best, and defeat today doesn’t mean the end. Never write anyone off, and never look down on someone just because you beat them once!
✍️ Ivory Coast needed Morocco to defeat Zambia to qualify. Morocco helped them but was later eliminated. Some people who cheer for you today may not be your true friends—they might just be using your success for their gain. Be wise; don’t let anyone exploit you for benefits that don’t serve you.
✍️ The South African goalkeeper saved four penalties against Cape Verde and became overconfident. They hoped for a penalty shootout against Nigeria, expecting the same result. Yet, against Nigeria, he couldn’t stop a single penalty, while the Nigerian goalkeeper saved two and won Man of the Match. Confidence is good, but overconfidence can be your downfall. Stay humble and prepared.
✍️ Nigeria scored a second goal that was disallowed due to an earlier foul, leading to a penalty for South Africa. Just when you think all hope is lost, life can offer you a surprising turnaround. Your setback may be setting you up for a comeback.
✍️ Senegal remained unbeaten in the group stage but got eliminated by Ivory Coast, a team that lost two matches. Success isn’t always about how well you start but how well you finish.
✍️ Defenders focused on stopping Victor Osimhen, disallowing four of his goals, but they overlooked Ademola Lookman. Sometimes, your real challenge isn’t the obvious one. Be strategic—your greatest opportunity may come from an unexpected source.
✍️ Kelechi Iheanacho didn’t play in the first five matches but came in late in the sixth game and became the hero. Sometimes, all you need is one moment, one opportunity. If you get just one chance to make an impact, make it count!
📌 “I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.” Ecclesiastes 9:11
👉 Time and chance = Preparation meeting opportunity. My brother, you dey talk sense abeg |

Daninya33: Nigeria Flying Eagles Resume Camp for Egypt Friendlies Ahead of U20 AFCON (Cote d’Ivoire 2025): Head Coach Aliyu Zubairu has called to camp 30 players as Nigeria’s U20 boys, Flying Eagles, prepare for a two-match tour of Egypt later this month. Team Administrator, Aliyu Lawal Ibrahim informed the NFF that the seven-time African champions will clash with their Egyptian counterparts in Cairo, capital of Egypt in friendly matches that have been scheduled for 25th and 27th February. The Flying Eagles, champions of Africa in 1983, 1985, 1987, 1989, 2005, 2011 and 2015, won the WAFU-B U20 Championship held in Lome, Togo in October last year to be eligible for the finals in Cote d’Ivoire. They defeated Ghana’s Black Satellites 3-1 in the final match. The two-time FIFA World Cup runners-up, in 1989 and 2005, came within breathing distance of the semi-finals at the FIFA U20 World Cup finals in Argentina, before losing narrowly to Korea Republic after extra time. Napoleon55: A team that has two best Africa's footballer of the year is too enticing to refuse over MC-Oran. This man's mind is made up. He really wants the job. He really wants international recognition. You can't miss coaching a country of established stars in established leagues of the world. Even $55000 pay cut can't stop it. I read somewhere that he has been nursing the ambition of coaching Nigeria since he was 12. He would wear the Nigerian jersey and chose playing Nigeria on playstation. Nigeria here we go! Welcome Chelle! |

TheSuperNerd: Update on TheGoodJoe
NB: Please kindly put banters aside and take this seriously. Resist also the insensitive temptation to link this to Man City's current run of form. This is no joking matter, I plead
Now, I know a couple of monikers have been asking for weeks now about the whereabouts of TheGoodJoe. Truth is, I didn't want to share anything even though I knew all along what was happening with him and that is because I had not gotten his consent yet to share it (I have that now). He was going through a whole lot healthwise and I kept touch with him from the onset. I just didn't wanna bring something so sensitive and private without his consent to the thread.
About 2 weeks ago or so, TheGoodJoe suffered a diabetic mini-stroke that really knocked him down. It led to him entering a semi-coma which kept him bed ridden for days but now he is up and fine again and has even been discharged as recently as yesterday.
He is fine but still undergoing serious followup checks with his doctors and more.
Please, kindly channel some of your prayers 🙏🏽🙏🏽to TheGoodJoe's health. Pray that this diabetic episode won't see the last of him. It is well. Amen.
In all, TheGoodJoe is sound currently. He can walk again and move around. He couldn't as at several days and weeks back. He is okay but still needs checks to ensure no relapse occurs. We thank God for his Life.
He also wishes you all a Merry Christmas and a Wonderful New Year ahead. Wishing the GoodJoe speedy recovery. We shall all see the end of this year and beyond. This year will not see the end of us. Amen |
