edi287: Rohr’s Goalkeeper Target Adeleye Post Another Clean Sheet In Israel For Hapoel Katamon October 25, 2019053
Facebook Twitter Adebayo Adeleye once again enhanced his chances of gatecrashing the Super Eagles squad for the AFCON 2021 Qualifiers games next month against Benin Republic and Lesotho respectively, Owngoalnigeria.com reports.
Loading... The 19 year old posted another clean sheet yesterday as his team Hapoel Katamon move to second position in the Israeli second division with a 1-0 win away from home against Hapoel Umm al-Fahm.
Adeleye now has four clean sheets in ten league games this season and many believe he is the best goalkeeper prospect in Israel at the moment judging by how he rose through the ranks to the first team in just six months.
A former goalkeeper with the U17 team of Nigeria, he is among the players coach of the Super Eagles Gernot Rohr is considering to call up to his squad to ease the goalkeepers crisis the team is facing due to the injury picked up by first choice goalkeeper Francis Uzoho.
DONT MISS ==> Rohr - Tammy Abraham Knows What To Do If He Want To Play For Nigeria, Silent On Tomori Uzoho will be out for six months and Rohr now has just Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Maduka Okoye to pick as his options in goal as he appears to have shut the door on Daniel Akpeyi despite his recent fine form in the Premier South Africa League ( PSL) for Kaizer Chiefs. Capping things on point. This Rohr dey try sha ooo. He dey enhance our football ooo |

charlesemeka85: Former Arsenal starlet Kelechi Nwakali is training with the Dream Team VII ahead of the 2019 U23 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Nigeria Football Federation has confirmed that the SD Huesa midfielder was among the players that took part in Thursday's morning training session at the National Stadium training pitch, supervised by Coach Imama Amapakabo and his assistants.
Nwakali was influential as the Olympic Team qualified for the tournament in Egypt, playing in the qualifiers against Libya and Sudan.
The Diamond and ASJ Academy product won the Golden Ball at the 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup and the following year he was promoted to the Flying Eagles squad that failed to qualify for the 2017 U20 World Cup.
Defending champions Nigeria kickoff the U23 AFCON when they battle Ivory Coast on November 9, then face Zambia on November 12 and finish the group stage against South Africa on November 15.
The U23 AFCON will determine the three countries that will represent Africa at the 2020 Olympic Games in Japan. Was he the only foreign player invited? |

Love Gernot Rohr or hate him but he is chatting our football in the right direction than any local coach would have done. He has the right connections globally and with Pinnick, they have succeeded in making SE a brand name,. He also works with players who are regularly playing and in form, he is setting a bench mark for the average age of players he wants in SE, he is also humble, never arrogant, talks intelligently to the press and he is using Nigeria to revive his coaching career so that his market will sell globally. The only thing he hasn't done is improving our league by scouting for players who could fit into the SE. |

Olulong: Eagles Squad For Benin, Lesotho Clash – Esiti, Otabor Out, Musa, Etebo In, QPR Eze In Line For First Eagles Call October 15, 2019073
Facebook Twitter
The list of players for the senior national team of Nigeria next round of games which is the 2020 Africa Cup of Nations on the 14th and 19th of November against Benin Republic and Lesotho respectively is near completion according to reports exclusively gathered by Owngoalnigeria.com editorial team.
Nigeria will first play Benin Republic on the 14th before taking on Lesotho five days later and already coach Gernot Rohr has started fine tuning his team after the two friendly games against Ukraine and Brazil played within a space of a month.
Rohr has dcided to drop some players to make way for players who were missing from the game due to injury and those who didn’t impress during the games played or in training ahead of the games.
PAOK of Greece midfield powerhouse Anderson Esiti is favourite to miss out with Rohr settling for Ramon Azeez who impressed as a second half substitute against Brazil while Esiti failed to do same when he was introduced against Ukraine.
Viv Solomon-Otabor might have had his last invitation to the team for now with Samuel Kalu set to return for the AFCON 2020 Qualifiers as he is expected to be fit. Otabor didn’t do enough in training to be considered as a substitute in the game against Brazil.
Team captain Ahmed Musa will return to the squad if he is fit alongside Oghenekaro Etebo who missed the last game to be with his wife who was expected to give birth according to reports from players close to the Stoke City midfielder.
Sources close to Rohr also revealed that QPR midfielder Ebere Eze has been discussed extensively by the technical crew of the Super Eagles and he could get his chance in the upcoming games. His decision is however subject to international clearance which is not expected to be tedious as he only played for England in a friendly game. This story better be true. Can't wait to see Eze in SE. |

Please what's the extent of Francis Uzoho's injury? November is close for AFCON 2021 qualifiers.
Meanwhile, Benin Republic drew 2-2 with Zambia in a friendly yesterday. We have a tough game in our hands with Benin.
I think NFF should focus now on capping Kingsley Ehibizue, Eberechi Eze and Bukayo Saka. We need back ups for our young squad. |

MetalJigsaw: Villarreal Open Contract Extension Talks With Chukwueze In Bid To Increase His Buy-Out Clause
Villarreal are not taking any chances regarding the valuation of their Nigerian sensation Samuel Chukwueze with the club set to improve his buy out clause in the new contract proposed to the left footed player, Owngoalnigeria.com reports.
Chukwueze’s initial release clause upon his signing two seasons ago was pegged at a €25m but the club activated the option of extending his contract after his first full season with the B team of the club and his subsequent progress to the first team.
His release clause now stands at €65m but the club are looking at ways to increase it by offering him fresh terms which will further extend his stay at the club and talks have already started in that direction.
Owngoalnigeria.com exclusively gathered that the new representative of the forward will study the new deal but won’t rush into signing it because of interest already shown in the 20 year old from clubs in England, where he has dream of playing after a failed move to Arsenal in 2016. Villarreal want to hammer from his transfer in January |

MetalJigsaw: NFF Move To Draft Rohr To U23 After Imama’s Failure With Super Eagles B Team At WAFU
The Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) says it will consider plans to draft the coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr to the U23 team ahead of the U23 Africa Cup of Nations, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Nigeria U23 team will take part in the Africa U23 Cup of Nations which also serves as the qualifiers for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo with coach Imama Amapakabo presently in charge of the team in temporary capacity.
Despite qualifying the team for the tournament in Egypt, the NFF is unhappy with the failure of the coach with the B team of the senior national team of Nigeria who have lost their first two games under the coach in two separate competition but to same opponent Togo.
Imama watched helplessly from the touch line as his team slumped to a second defeat in one week to Togo after yesterday’s 1-2 loss at the WAFU Championship, which is a week after same team thrashed them 4-1 in Lome in the first leg tie of the qualifiers for CHAN 2020.
” We have not really debated about the future of the coach because he is there in interim capacity. However recent result suggest we have to make a decision on the way forward. It’s not out of place to draft Rohr to the U23 because we are slowly losing our fate in Imama”, a top official of the NFF told Owngoalnigeria.com.
” To be honest the back to back loss against Togo is painful but we won’t rush any decision until we do an appraisal of what went wrong in both games. That will determine his stay as coach because we can’t afford to miss out on the Olympic in Tokyo “, he concluded.

MetalJigsaw: I Also Want To Play For Nigeria – Aribo’s Teammate Ojo Sends Come-And-Get-Me Plea To Rohr
Teammate of newly capped Super Eagles midfielder Joe Aribo has reminded coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr about his availability as he has also pledged hus allegiance to the senior national team of Nigeria.
Seyi Ojo who played for England at various youth level says he is keen to follow in the footstep of Aribo who marked his international debut for Nigeria with a goal in the 2-2 friendly draw against Ukraine.
On loan from Liverpool to Rangers, , the 22 year old is enjoying a far more productive spell in Scotland than last season while on loan to French Ligue 1 side Reims as he has so far scored five goals in all competitions this season.

It’s up to the coaches to decide on calling me up all I have to do is to keep doing my best at Rangers”, Ojo told Owngoalnigeria.com

MetalJigsaw: ‘I Hear Super Eagles Want Tomori’, BBC Pundit Sends Warning To England Boss Gareth Southgate
It has been a superb few weeks for Fikayo Tomori at Chelsea.
The defender has been one of the Blues’ top performers since breaking into the side in recent weeks, with Tomori starring against Wolves after the international break with a goal in the 5-2 win at Molineux.
He also earned praise after his performance against Liverpool nine days ago, while he helped Chelsea keep a first clean sheet of the season on Saturday against Brighton & Hove Albion.
Fikayo Tomori was praised for his performance against Mohamed Salah (Image: James Williamson – AMA/Getty Images)
His performance was enough to secure a place in Garth Crooks’ team of the week, and the BBC pundit has been full of praise for the 21-year-old. But the former Tottenham forward had a message for England boss Gareth Southgate, with Tomori eligible to play for the Three Lions, Nigeria and Canada.
“This lad caught my eye against Liverpool when Mohamed Salah tried to outrun him and Tomori handled the chase comfortably and with gears to spare. Needless to say, I was impressed,” said Crooks, in his weekly feature for the BBC website.
“Against Brighton, it was a very different proposition, but Tomori looked composed and comfortable like a player who is going places.
“I hear the Nigerians have their eye on this talent and the Super Eagles’ pulling power is not to be underestimated. England manager Gareth Southgate should not take Tomori’s England age group appearances for granted.”
Tomori has played for England at various age groups, including U19, U20 and U21, but is yet to feature for the Three Lions at senior level.
