'My Big Dream Is To Play For Denmark' - Bournemouth's Billing Dismisses Nigeria Rumours
Bournemouth midfielder Philip Billing has dismissed rumours in the Nigerian press that he wants to play for the Super Eagles and has stressed that his international futures lies with the Danish National Team.

Born to a Nigerian father and Danish mother, it is only a matter of time before Billing becomes cap-tied to the Scandinavian country as he has been called-up to their senior team several times and was a non-playing substitute on six occasions.

"I think there are some rumors that come out of nowhere. When I saw it, I thought it might be good just to make a Danish article about it so that people don't start to believe it," Billing told Danish newspaper BT.

"I saw the last time people started to speculate that I didn't mind playing for Denmark and blah, blah, blah.

"It would be strange to stand up for Nigeria when I feel 100 percent Danish.

"Of course I have Nigerian roots and am half Nigerian, but I was raised and born in Denmark.

"I have Danish mother, Danish little brother and Danish little sister and a Nigerian father. But this is Denmark I want to play for. That's my big dream."

Billing revealed that he made it crystal clear that he wanted to continue representing Denmark when he was approached by Nigeria Gernot Rohr to switch his allegiance to the Super Eagles.

"I've talked to the coach, but I know where I want to play. I want to play for Denmark, so it is no longer than that.

"He just said he really wanted me to play for Nigeria, because the upcoming World Cup and Africa Cup of Nations will be played soon.

"I made it pretty clear to him that I wanted to play for Denmark. That's my big dream," Billing added.

The former Denmark U21 star has held positive talks with new Denmark coach Kasper Hjulmand and he's looking forward to making his senior debut for his country of birth.

"I've talked to Kasper Hjulmand over the phone. Not about anything specific, but we just had a great conversation to get to know each other a little.

"From what I hear, it's something I look forward to very much. Playing with the national team and hopefully in the future a few minutes and make my debut. "

Billing has stressed that he won't address questions about committing his international future to Nigeria in the future.

"Hopefully this is the last time I have to answer whether I choose Nigeria. I can say that I am 100 percent in Denmark. I only think these are rumors and that's to get people talking. But there is nothing at all," Billing concluded.

Former Huddersfield youth-teamer Billing has made 70 appearances in the English Premier League since his debut in August 2017.

Sports Ministry Wants Former Tottenham Boss As Eagles Coach

By Ibrahim Taiwo , The Nigerian Voice Sports
Listen to article
Amidst the uncertainty surrounding the contract renewal of Gernot Rohr, top officials of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development has identified former Tottenham Hotspurs manager, Harry Redknapp, to take over from Gernot Rohr.
Sports Minister, Mr Sunday Dare in a video made available to newsmen revealed that he wanted a competent manager to handle the Super Eagles whether it is Rohr or not.

Dare said, “All I want is a coach that is competent, I don’t care whether it is Rohr or not. The name doesn’t matter, but does he have the credentials?
“Look at our footballers, they play in some of the best clubs in the world and are coached by some of the best coaches.

“So if you want to coach a Nigerian team, you better be sound because the invited players that are going to represent the country train under the best coaches, therefore, we don’t want a player that is sounder than the coach.”

However, the NFF Executive Committee in a meeting held via video conferencing on Thursday, mandated its General Secretary Mohammed Sanusi, to liaise with the Super Eagles’ coach, Gernot Rohr, with a view to putting to rest all matters around his contract within the next seven days.

But according to a top football stakeholder, who spoke on condition of anonymity to the Punch, he revealed that even though Rohr was about sealing a new deal with the NFF, the ministry was looking at Redknapp taking over as coach of the Eagles in the coming days.

His words “He (Rohr) is expected to get another contract offer from the NFF as there are other likely conditions included in the deal to be sent to him today (Monday),”

“But if he (Rohr) doesn’t accept the new offer, it will pave the way for the ministry’s preferred candidate Redknapp; he is highly rated by the ministry officials, even though some feel he may be too old for the Eagles job and hasn’t had a coaching job for about three years.”

Redknapp, 73, last managed at Birmingham City in 2017 but was sacked after five straight league defeats, which left the Blues second bottom in the English Championship table.
I also feel they want Redknapp because he will be able to convince those English born guys to play for Nigeria.

Exclusive – ” My Mind Is Not On Playing For Nigeria Now “- Ebere Eze Tells Rohr

QPR midfielder Ebere Eze has played down the chances of switching allegiance to Nigeria in the immediate as he is focused on his career with his clubside and also the youth team of England, Owngoalnigeria.com reports.
The midfielder trained with the Super Eagles in 2017 but he has since represented England at U21 level and even though he met with the president of the NFF in London few months ago, he still hasn’t decided on Nigeria.

In an exclusive interview aired on YouTube on the Podcast the Beautiful Game. The 22 year old who is having one of his best season with QPR where he has emerged as a prime target for teams in the English Premier League revealed his plans in the immediate regarding his international future.
Ask by a keen follower of Nigerian football @Nigerianscamsss on if he will consider a switch to Nigeria owing to his form, Eze revealed he has met with the handlers of the Nigerian team and told them he want to maintain his current international status for the time being.

”Yes of course and that’s why I don’t want to make any decision on my international future until it’s time I think it’s right. I don’t want to make a rash decision as much as it is a privilege to play for either country. It will be a great honor to play for both”, he responded when asked if he will consider playing for Nigeria.

He however poured cold water on any immediate plan when probed further ” To be honest I spoke with the Nigerian football people but they understand where I am at. I’m just enjoying my football right now, I don’t want any added pressure until my mindset is settled.

” I don’t want to be focused on the wrong thing, I just want to focus on what has got me to this position and continue doing it and wherever it takes me, it takes me”, he concluded.
Please stop toying with our minds. Tomorrow your cousin will tell us you never said this, that you will definitely play for Nigeria

Exclusive- NFF Hands Rohr U17, U20 And U23 Role In New Contract
The Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) have handed extra responsibility to coach of the senior national team Gernot Rohr as part of the terms of his new deal, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Rohr is talked in contract extension talks with the NFF with his present deal set to expire in June. He has already accepted the terms of his new deal that includes a reduction in his wages.
A top chief of the NFF revealed that the coach will now monitor closely the other male national team of Nigeria which includes the U17, U20 and U23 team. He will also have an input in the B team of the Super Eagles made up of home base players.
“The new terms is for the good of all. He will henceforth visit and monitor all youth teams as he will be based in Nigeria for most part of the year. In his new capacity he will also have a large role to play in the CHAN team to ease the transition of players to the main team”, he said.

” Rohr is keen on the idea and he didn’t make any amends to that aspect of the proposal sent to him. He will work and supervise the coaches and sometimes pass instructions to the players during training and maybe games”, he concluded.
They want to finish Rohr with responsibilities. NFF are just being lazy to work. Who is suppose to revive our league and reorganize our youth teams? Is it Rohr? I will not be surprised if they add U17 Flamingos, U20 Falconets and Super Falcons to his job. This was the reason why he must reside in Nigeria.

I disagree, Eze on his style and technical ability is more like JJay add his ability to shoot with both feet from any distance and yes that lazy mam attitude he doesn't work hard enough and back track enough just like JJay.

Ovie is very hard working almost plays too much for the team and should be a bit more selfish to get a few goals. See

He doesn't seem to have the shoot ability reminiscent of JJay or similar to Eze.
We need the two of them to compliment each other
