If we go by your analysis on each Keeper, then Uzoho,Ajiboye,Aiyenugba nick it but i doubt Aiyenugba cos he is not in Rohr's plan, remember Maduka too,so let's put our fingers crossed but for now Ezenwa,Uzoho and Ajiboye with his performance yesterday ahead but am seeing Alampasu breaking into the team if any of the trio failed to deliver.
Yea i know hes got plans for some goal keepers already. Uzoho has been his main concentration.

for me, i will go with Uzoho, Ajiboye and Ezenwa in that order but Uzoho needs to be tested more before he can be tagged as first choice.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 8:08am On Feb 01, 2018
No need "fixing" my opinion, it's disrespectful, you could have quoted me and stated your opinion too. don't cancel my comment next time bro. not cool.

Thanks
TheSuperNerd:
Fixed... grin wink

The five Goalie names (Uzoho, Alampasu, Ezenwa, Ajiboye, Akpeyi) have all been invited by Rohr himself at various stages of our qualifying campaign in 2017 and 2016 so it is nothing new to see their names flying around the thread. And of these five, only four are truly in contention. Akpeyi is not going to he in Russia I believe.
But now you bring in Aiyenugba?? Sorry man... it is certainly...
Having said that, Ajiboye was never mentioned by Rohr, but we can now see how he has proven himself, same should be thought for any other goal keeper including Aiyenugba.

Like i said, its my opinion, if the coach wants the best for the back, he should review his goal keeping stand again and should please do away with Alloy Agu, that man is incompetent!

Niggah wen did u start following npfl? Ocean boys and Sharks are now 1. D only mistake in my argument is d U20 there, I meant U23. And mind u,he was number 1 for fc Ifeanyi ubah before d fallout. And mind u,wenever he went for national duty, there's always a replacement.
Lol, Ocean boys is from Bayelsa, Sharks is from port harcourt oga.

Sharks merged with Dolphins to become Rivers Utd not Ocean boys!

He was not number one at Ubah, okay, give us his jersey number at Ubah!

Lastly, he actually went for U20 and U 23 but mostly as squad player.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 7:50am On Feb 01, 2018
I thought we are only going to the world cup with 23 man team?

Everyone being picked to go to the world cup.

Make una small small o lol.

Rohr knows 80% of his team already (according to him) so where would all these new names fit into?

As for goal keeping position, those he's likely to pick are known by him but the order of picking is what is giving him issues IMO.

The friendlies should allow at least 4-6 keepers get tried. We have 5-6 friendlies, let each of them have 2 trials each (2 halves).

Even if we have 6 goal keepers to try, 6 friendlies can get us a better view of them all.

Ezenwa
Ajiboye
Uzoho
Akpeyi
Alampasu

These 5 should be tested during the friendlies.

Infact Aiyenugba should also be tried IMO.
From these 6 names, I know about 2 who are very good with stopping PKs.

(AJIBOYE AND AIYENUGBA)

for height :

Uzoho and Alampasu

For positioning:

Uzoho, Aiyenugba and Ajiboye

For confidence:

Ezenwa, Aiyenugba, Uzoho and Ajiboye

I believe it shouldn't be that hard to find 3 good keepers from these 6 options.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 11:56pm On Jan 31, 2018
I have said it on this thread that Ezenwa isn't the best in the league nor is he better than the other 2 on the bench, now we can all see what Ajiboye did.

May God bless Yemi Tela and may he continue resting in peace.

Ajiboye showed Bojan pepper.. the Spanish youth team hated him because he denied them series of goals!
Kog45:
Well i don't think so but sometimes is not that easy changing your trusted one(Ezenwa)but Ajiboye is better not even cos of this match, have been hammering it on this thread, just too glaring, those saves are daring.

How many years ago when Ocean boys in the NPFL?

He wasn't the first choice at Ubah nor is he first choice at Enyimba. Though he was first choice at heartland and sunshine.
Soso990240:
What lies? I say what I know, and they are facts. have know dat dude years before he went for under 20 world cup years back. in case u ar having issues wit comprehension, I said 'was' fc Ifeanyi ubah no 1 keeper before he left.. then d Ghanaian took over, make ur research.
He was never Ubah's first choice! he didn't even have a number at Ubah

Where are you getting this lies from?

Soso990240:
liar. Ezenwa was d number 1 shot stopper for fc Ifeanyi before he left them. He was Heartland no 1 shot stopper before they sold him.. he was ocean boys of Rivers state no 1 shot stopper before they sold him. Don't drop such lie on people easily. I know him that much.

Very rash of you Ifeanyi, now you've put us in a difficult situation.

Chai, Ajiboye, prove to the world you're better than those they always bench or pick ahead of you.

What a test today!.

Na person dey score goals so for Morroco. 7 already!
Humility017:
can you guys drop these npfl debate aside for once...and let's watch and analyse these CHAN match....

BascoVanVeli:
I have shown you the most important stat, Okpotu 2 goals and Harry Kane none. Was Kane around the age of 23? Yes. Was he top scorer in England? Yes. So what else do u want?
I hope you're seeing what he's been doing with balls served to him?

You still haven't shown me how many chances was created for Kane. We know Okpotu scored 2 out of more than 30 chances so far!
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 9:39pm On Jan 31, 2018
Obviously from external influence. When we hire our own, we try to hold them to ransome unlike when it's a foreign coach.
tbaba1234:
There have always been multiple choices. We just failed to give them opportunities.I remember Leon Balogun at some point was obviously Nigeria's best defender in Europe. Siasia released a list and left Balogun out.

Much of our selections under Keshi and Siasia were not merit-driven.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 9:38pm On Jan 31, 2018
Yes, because anyone can win the league and no one is seen as "giant".

A competitive competition with almost known winners can't be said to be more competitive than another with everyone having equal chance of succeeding.

Being competitive doesn't mean the league is better than the ones with clear winners, but when comparing where you may likely not be able to guess who will win the league from the 20 clubs and not from '6' clubs, then the lower league wins that title.
junnyjake:
I seriously don't get you.

So you'd rate the NPFL higher than the EPL In competitiveness? Since the teams are pretty equated in quality.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 9:34pm On Jan 31, 2018
I disagree, the league isn't for 6 clubs to compete, it's for 20 clubs. Until it's made a 6 clubs league, it cant be tagged as a competitive one over another league where almost anyone can win the league.
tbaba1234:
6 teams competing for the title is a very competitive league.

In all leagues in Europe, you have the traditional big teams who compete for the league every year. That is the way, leagues are.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 7:27pm On Jan 31, 2018
A mahrez's departure would have helped Iheanacho claim more game time. The less attackers they have, the more likely they use him.
TheSuperNerd:
The mahrez deal is off....

Man City made four bids today with the last being a bid of £65 million + a player but Leicester said NO! Lol

Mahrez stays to join Kelechi, Vardy, Okazaki, Diabate, Gray, Albrighton, and Barnes in that offensive dept to finish Leicester's season as possibly seventh behind the top 6. wink
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 7:19pm On Jan 31, 2018
Less on the coach I think, more on the multiple choices available now.
tbaba1234:
See Nigerian players making moves to try and be part of the World cup. Everyone is moving to get more gametime.

This is the effect of a foreign coach unlike what obtained before.
And Keshi also wasn't given free hands to pick. Don't be surprised some of his choices must have been externally influenced.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 7:17pm On Jan 31, 2018
Bros, I asked you to post the stats of how many chances created by England in euros and how many Kane scored/missed.

I have showed you that of Okpotu, kindly show us that of Kane. I haven't changed anything.

Prove it that Kane got tens of chances and blew them away like Okpotu in CHAN.
BascoVanVeli:
Don't twist your own words boss. U keep on switching ur stance and it is not making this debate interesting tbh. Look at the bolded for crying out loud, I am telling u that Harry Kane did not destroy the defenses at the 2016 Euro's and u are trying to change what u are even saying in ur current post.

Who are the two players at Malaga?
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 5:49pm On Jan 31, 2018
Kano pillars don't owe and they pay pretty well (Nigerian standard).

Players earning minimum of #150k monthly up to #600k monthly.

So why should a sane player leave to a club or country he's not sure of beating their "trials" or even making it in that league?

BascoVanVeli:
My problem with some Kano Pillars players is that they never want to leave lol. But when it comes to salary package, Pillars and Enyimba are pretty high up there in Africa at least.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 5:47pm On Jan 31, 2018
2 Nigerians in Malaga. We have about 3-4 new faces in la liga this Jan alone.

Sweet.
Kog45:
Better for him
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 5:45pm On Jan 31, 2018
Harry Kane didn't have tens of goal scoring opportunities in the Euros, neither did he waste goal scoring opportunities the way Okpotu has done. Gerrit?

Suarez at 23 was destroying defence everywhere he played. Even now at 29-30, he's still scoring for both club and country.

Next?

BascoVanVeli:
is Suarez one of the best strikers in the business, yes or no?

So are u saying Harry Kane rubbished the EPL because like I told u he was the HGS in the league and also around 23.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 5:18pm On Jan 31, 2018
In the case of Musa, I am tilting towards money as the influencer. He was doing so great in the Russian league and also making UCL almost every season playing against the best in Europe. Anyways now that he's going back there, he should please enjoy football once more.
Kog45:
I don't think is the issue of following money to EPL,sometimes things just don't work out for some players, not only Musa cos we have seen players coming to EPL and had it tough.

Morata started all euro game just because costa was injured, morata remains an average player, over and out
Thank you for this!
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 4:50pm On Jan 31, 2018
But Suarez is not 23, compare him with another 23yrs who got picked based on being his leagues HGS.

Not scoring goals on a bigger stage rubishes the league he plies his trade you know?
BascoVanVeli:
It is not funny it is common sense. Luis Suarez is one of the best strikers ever and if he can miss in bunches then why hold Okpotu to such impossibly high standards?

Morata that started every game in the last Euro's is not Spain's point man? So u are telling me that if Okpotu was not the top scorer he wouldn't have been selected. So why did Gabriel with all his 3 goals from last season make the team?
Yes, he might not have been picked if he wasn't, I know some of the players in the CHAN list aren't the best. You know this yourself
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 4:41pm On Jan 31, 2018
Sane is injured so he's to replace Sane
Truidstar:
Wish Echiejele, Musa and Etebo all the best as they face new challenges. Wish Rohr all the best as he knows best the final 23 for the world cup.
These CHAN boys might just win this tournament. Repeat of 1994 (won the AFCON and went to world cup) loading.

Hearing Mahrez to Man City... Abeg who is he planning to replace in that midfield? Silva? Debryune? Who are his advisers??
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 4:40pm On Jan 31, 2018
Hopefully he will pick up from where he stopped.

He followed money to the EPL to the detriment of his football career.
Danielnino00:
Maybe Musa should never have left Moscow....

He had a great career there!!! The club still loves him.
