Corruption sir right from the days of been Bruce. Pocketing govt money by those in higher civil service positions in almost all govt parastastats tbaba1234: I do not understand NTA. Never will I forget the tales one of the vet ref told us in lecture some years ago about what happened in Kano pre 2000s lol.. Mickael2: it isn't really about them. Ok let's take for example you have heard stories about jihads(abeg no vex oo ) and you are officiating a match in the north, Kano Pillars are losing at home and you see a random northerner bringing out this curved knife and smiling at you with broken teeth, baba I will award two spotkicks in a minute sef. I think security checks should be beefed up at the stadiums, atleast if the officials can be safe inside the stadium that would be a wonderful development. |

So they are doing this solely for cost purposes? CSL starts in March. tbaba1234: Balogun is in Germany, much easier for him to go to England than to fly to Nigeria. Ighalo and Mikel would probably be back to China by then and would not be available.
This is not a FIFA window. Players need to be in training the next day. |

Cost? How many dignitaries likely to fly from Nigeria for this purpose compared to flying into Nigeria? Well like you said NFF "knows" best and they can't be 100% right/wrong all the time. Kalapizim: maybe Cost of flying them home, remember how the last world cup jersey was lunched with home based players in 2014.
Well NFF knows best, I can only speculate |

Is unveiling not done by positioning? I still believe it's not right to be done outside your country. We're not the only one having players (key) outside the country, yet these countries are unveiling at home. Why must ours always be weird? safarigirl: Mikel is a senior posterboy, Iwobi and Kelechi are the latest baby boys in town.
Iwobi's picture is even the header on their twitter page |

Still doesn't sound right. Who are they gathering for unveiling that needs too many efizzy? Max is 3-4 players. A goalkeeper - Ezenwa Defender - Balogun Midfielder - Mikel Striker - Ighalo or Moses. (Guess work) About 3-4 on this list are not even in England. What else? tbaba1234: It is easier to gather key members of the team in Europe for an event. If you hold it in Nigeria, you will have no players available except Ezenwa. In England, you can get several players, including those based outside England to attend. |

Is this a statement of fact? 90% buyers are from outside? Hozier: Because nobody will buy the jersey at home. From history 90% of Super Eagles jersey sales comes from abroad, people here in Naija are only vocal supporters of the team they don't joke with their money.
When the Aba version hits the market Nigerians will troop out en mass to show their support. |

goldfish80: I have watched Mfm and Kano Pillars, they play good football at times but not as good as the teams I mentioned earlier. By the way, the CAF champions league semifinals between Heartland and Pillars was simply electric.
This present Chan team have very compact and strong defence. Kalu Orji and Stephen Eze could make it to the main super Eagles, especially with about 6 friendlies lined up. The left back and Osas are holding their own as well. I think they are the best defensive quartet in this championship by a mile. Na so, one of the problems facing our league is this attitude of changing squad almost every season. Most clubs are used to selling their players and replacing them with new faces. No continuity. They end up spending the new season getting to know each other over again. |

And they can't come home to do that? Mikel is definitely the number 1 poster boy and doesn't reside in England. Kalapizim: Two of the Super Eagles poster boys( Iwobi and Kelechi) are in England, we might see moses, ndidi and musa(if still in England) joining them for the unveiling.

Very likely, lol.. NPFL players and rolling rolling. You can even see it in Ezenwa when he goes down injured lol BascoVanVeli: I wouldn't be surprised if Faleye and the rest were faking their injuries. It is rampant here at home, when a team wants to kill a match the players start rolling around like someone shot them even without any contact. |

Then you have not been watching MFM and Kano pillars. These sides play to score. Attack all rounder goldfish80: This is spot on. Nigerian coaches pay more attention to strength and endurance training than tactics, positioning and technique.
The last I saw an Npfl team play with attacking invention was the title conquering Rangers team of 2016 and Mr Kelechi Emetole's Heartland 2009 CAF champions league finalist. Coaching in Nigeria need to evolve so talents can be harnessed properly. I wish a guy like Theo Jacob de Jong managed in Nigeria more than half a season. |

How sensible or reasonable is unveiling our world cup jersey outside Nigeria far away in England when almost every one else unveiled theirs at home?
Isn't this disrespectful to the home fans and Nigeria as a whole? |

The clubsides he coached weren't goal shy. Sunnypa11: A Coach is synonymous for his pattern and philosophy. A Samson Siasia team will thrill us any day any time even with junks in the team. Salisu isn't influencing the Super Eagles from the look of things and he is also guilty of Coaching some of the players in the NPFL |

But he was once a coach in the NPFL...oh i remember, his sides used to score wella. (Enyimba, Kano pillars etc) Sunnypa11: Coach Salisu Yusuf has blamed the NPFL coaches for the profligacy and [dryness] of his attack. He said the coaches are not developing the players and alluded to the NPFL invitational where his team out-scored all the others. He opined that the National team is not a developmental ground where the players begin to learn the basics, adding that they had no time to teach the players what their coaches in their various clubs should have taught them.

Tried finding out that of boboye in one piece, couldn't find any. Help with that. Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 8:39am On Jan 20, 2018 |
The Plateau team is a clubside that plays together every week and how many of their best players were missing? CHAN eagles were hurridly assembled with little or no chemistry as at the time they even played the NPFL clubs, for them not to have lost says alot about their quality against clubsides that has the chemistry lacking in the CHAN eagles. I hope you understand where I'm coming from? This was why I made mention of the Japanese league all starts that lost 7:3 to an unknown 4-5th division side from Australia. Humility017: but the Chan team is a sum of Npfl best players I suppose.... the plateau team that drew wit them...probably were without the services of some of their best players... so I expect the CHAN team to have won that encounter which they fail to do... |

A CHAN team that hardly plays together still won a complete league side and you think the coach of the losing side is better? Look at it rationally na. Kog45: My man you are right, watching six NPFL invitational tournament showed that Kenedy Boboye of Plateau United and MFM coach are better than Salisu.
MFM really impressed me against CHAN team though they lost 3-2 but in the second half they came out strongly and exposed CHAN team.I rate plateau united as the best in the tournament cos they played with good understanding. Today, one small club called Appiah tiger something something in Australia beat Japanese league all stars 7:3. I hope you know the janaese league all stars is equivalent to our CHAN eagles? So what do you say about that? |

I think Zambians can't be used as yardstick, some are already national team players and they also play cosafa cup which gives them room to understand each other better. Abusule007: This Nigeria team lack coordination abeg. They play ball like bunch of strangers gathered together to come and play. Zambia that is playing beautiful football, are they not home base like them? Or Zambia league is better than Nigeria league. Me I'm not understanding this our players ooo.
