Experience has nothing to do with being good, he could have displaced those who were below par. what i am saying is, if he's that good, he should have made the German team. (If above average). what i believe is that he's average, hence the reason he's not making headlines.

Above average players make headlines everywhere in the world sir.

All the same, if Rohr believes he's better than the ones he's got on ground for now, he can go for him but what i am afraid of is introducing too many new faces thereby killing or distorting the chemistry/team spirit in the team.

We have seen how "average" clubs or country go ahead to win tournaments (Leceister/Greece/Portugal/Zambia). Team spirit and chemistry plays a big role in every team on earth.

Man city used to have world class players/big price players yet kept achieving little or nothing until they got a coach he got players who are/were ready to play for the club, not those who take the team as plan B.

Any player who sees the SE as plan B should never be given a chance, they won't see reason to die for the national team. you need the heart to play for a national team, not just the skill or whatever. this is my grouse sir.
tbaba1234:
I feel like the problem is that very few have watched this guy play.

He has played 19 times, this season alone and we are at the mid-way point. Not in 2017 as a whole. He joined July 2017. And yes, he is an outstanding prospect. He is a regular starter unless injured. In his first season, nonetheless. He has come in as a youngster and displaced players with more experience.

Omeruo could not cut it in the championship. Balogun has been relegated to the bench, Ekong is in Turkey.

Certainly, a 20 year commanding regular football in the bundesliga in his first season is a top prospect.

This guy is linked to Arsenal to a summer transfer to Arsenal to replace the retiring Mertesacker.

'Sportsmail can reveal Mainz's Abdou Diallo and Wolfsburg's Ohis Felix Uduokhai are two central defenders already earmarked to replace club captain Per Mertesacker, who will join Arsenal's academy in a coaching capacity at the end of the season.'

Good thread.

Why did the OP delete his or her account na?
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow:
He could have cut it if he went to a club that needed him. A Musa would have played week in and out in clubs like Everton, Southampton, stoke, westham. These clubs don't really have fast wingers.

He went to a Leicester filled with good wingers and alot of strikers.

And yes, I insist, money influenced him partly.
komekn:
It's not money but progression to a higher league.

Unfortunately he couldn't cut it in the EPL.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 11:06am On Feb 02, 2018
Define the skill sets needed to play in the EPL and let's discuss the players and these skills.
komekn:
The particular skills set required for the EPL has seen many top flight players flop. It's not unique to Musa in all honesty I had my doubts even before he arrived.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 11:03am On Feb 02, 2018
He starts because that's his country and his clubside. Someone said he only played 17 times in 2017 so how does that translate to week in and out?

Lastly, if his club doesn't have a better replacement, they have no choice but to keep using what they have. So that doesn't buy the argument of being a world class prospect.
tbaba1234:
Who are our CBs? Ekong, Balogun, Awaziem and Omeruo

How many of these will start in the Bundesliga?

Uduokhai starts every week in the Bundesliga when fit. The only reason you will not start him is that he is new to the team but based on just quality, he will start comfortably.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 11:00am On Feb 02, 2018
If he's above average, then let him fight for the german national team shirt na.
tbaba1234:
Uduokhai is not average. One of the most highly rated young CBs in Germany. A 20 year old CB that is a regular in the Bundesliga.

How many Nigerian players will make the german team? That team has the strongest depth in the world. It is no shame not making the german especially for a 20 year old. Uduokhai will be a massive coup for Nigeria not only for what he can do now but his potential.

The coach felt these guys could improve our national team and they can.

Ekong, Balogun, Ikeme, Ebuehi etc have all improved our team.

Super Eagles Squad : Mikel, Moses Out

https://www.thebreakingtimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Mikel-Obi-and-Victor-Moses-1.jpg

Super Eagles captain Mikel Obi and Chelsea star, Victor Moses, are some of the regular players that have been ruled out of the international friendly match between Nigeria DR Congo slated for May 28 and in either Abuja or Uyo.

The national team is expected to bid the country farewell before they depart for the 2018 World Cup with top government functionaries including President Muhammadu Buhari expected to be present at the venue.

However, sources in the Nigeria Football Federation has told our correspondent that regular players in the Super Eagles starting line might not feature in the game.

The sources said the Manager of the national team Gernot Rohr wanted to use the friendly match to test some of the fringe players in the squad.

The source said that Rohr was drawing up a list of 35 players that would prosecute the six friendly matches ahead of the World Cup from which 23 would make the final cut for the Mundial.

“Mikel, Moses, Odion Ighalo and some other big players may not be part of the match against DR Congo. These players are not expected to feature in the first phase of camping which is going to be in either Abuja or Uyo. Home based stars and some other fringe players from Europe are going to prosecute the friendly that is organised for the team to bid the country farewell ahead of the World Cup.

“Rohr is compiling a list of 35 players with those who prosecuted the World Cup qualifiers expected to dominate it. The final list of 23 is expected to come out on June 4 about two days after the friendly match against England,” the source said.

The source added that a few players from the Nigeria’s squad to the ongoing African Nations Championship in Morocco would be part of the 35-man list.

“Captain Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Ifeanyi Ifeanyi and about four other players from CHAN team will be in the 35-man list, that I can say authoritatively,” the source said.

I was actually referring to the falconet's coach and not the super eagles's coach.
Clementoke:
Don't get me wrong bro. You said part of Rohr's contract was probably to indirectly train our Yusuf. The question is what new thing have you noticed in Yusuf that you as a person probably thinks he has learnt from Rohr?

Jordi Alba type of LB
COOL10:
Just watched the NGR ARG highlights again and with what I just saw,I must say that Idowu is a very good player. His positioning off the ball is amazing and his acceleration is something else. He had no business getting that ball Iheanacho lost yet he did and placed it in the bottom right corner. Totally classic. I would love to see him play in NGR colours again.

He played for ocean boys and they went into Oblivion.

Shark's number one shot stopper is or was Rotimi Sunday. Very capable!

I mixed both up. But the fact is that he played for both ocean boys and sharks. Squad player, was he not part of the team?

You think so?
Yes I do

soetanoreoluwa:
Have always believe in Ajiboye just that the situation around him kept holding him down...
Like they always said you can't hide talent for so long
Yes, Alloy recommended the 3 of them to Rohr, I believe Rohr decided on who to use, so I would say it's partly Rohrs responsibility to pick who should mount the goal post since he sees them during warm up.

Well I knew this since I started seeing Ezenwa in post and some saying he earned it on merit! I know you have also voiced out about him not being the best from the 3 names here (Ezenwa)
Kog45:
I think am the only moniker telling who care to listen that Ajiboye is better than Ezenwa and Akpeyi after watching him against Guinea in WAFU cup.

"we"? Well I in person can see the work on Yusuf in their style of play, but individual skill is what is lacking in some of the players.

Yusuf won't teach pros how to trap balls or shoot at goal, pros should know this already!
Clementoke:
Unfortunately, we ain't seeing the fruits in Salisu Yusuf nd Alloy Agu's life, rather their condition seem to be getting worse

You would have known him better if you have been following the league.

I believe the indirect "coaching" of our local coaches is one that Pinnick must have included in the contract of the new coach.
soetanoreoluwa:
Even female league is not encouraging at all... What is working for us now is nothing but a talent.

Just hope AmajuPinnick can come up with a good system. And also competent local coaches should be made to assist this foreign coaches not someone that will not be useful after the dismiss of the foreign coach....

We have like 3 local UEFA pro licence coach at the moment ...think NFF should engage them if they really want to work..

I was still disturbed why NFF overlooked Finnidi George

Like the male counterpart. The female league needs alot! Alot!
soetanoreoluwa:
Thats way to go and also think NFF should set up a good system in other to encourage our local coaches to take up more coaching courses for long time purpose.

Hehe.. I can never forget that tourney!
Mickael2:
lol. That was actually true then. If you see how we celebrated Bojan's red card then eh, you would think Barca just won a champions league

80% of his team doesn't include the GK department, I said that in my comment also yet you skipped that.

You don try!
TheSuperNerd:
Actually it is Rohr's as well... you yourself said Rohr knows 80% of his team already... grin So doesn't that means some matters are already in EOD state on the team? Looolll... give it a rest. You know this is true. wink
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 8:44am On Feb 01, 2018
I addressed this already too. Listed why I had to use his name. The cam kept showing his face in that final game and he cried the most because the card that had him out of the finals was not worth it.
TheSuperNerd:
And Mr somehow... Mickael2 is right. Bojan Krkic never played against Ajiboye. He was suspended from that final game. I wanted to correct you but it skipped my mind. So yes that is also true.

Your opinion.
TheSuperNerd:
Hahahahahahahahaha.... Come on, nobody needs to be Rohr to know Aiyenugba is not getting near that plane to Russia. Looooollllll.... Some matters on this team are truly EOD already, we don't have to wait till June. wink

That is the reality of this present Super Eagles team... So wake up and .......
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 8:39am On Feb 01, 2018
Oh I now got your point, while I used Bojan's name? I did that because Bojan was the most troubled when we won. The cam kept showing him off field while the game was ungoing (Finals).

Mickael2:
Bojan was sent off in the semifinals and didn't play the final, I think he was either tied on 7goals with Chrisantus or he was a goal behind but he never played the final, which was the spanish team's excuse for losing.

Then at the next U20 Ajiboye was not the first choice, and Miranda was leading the line for Spain, Bojan was not invited
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 8:32am On Feb 01, 2018
It can only be EOD if you were Rohr and if it is June already.
TheSuperNerd:
You definitely are somehow... cheesy getting worked up over nothing... Lolll... It is okay... wink

Uhmmmmm, on the GK position, one thing is surely confirmed mister. Dele Aiyenugba is not Russia-bound and not even in the picture. EOD. Now move on from that and let's stick to "reason" here.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 8:30am On Feb 01, 2018
Rohr loves height so his number 1 likely to be tall o.
Kog45:
I don't see Uzoho beating Ajiboye with what i saw yesterday but Uzoho's height is tempting even Alampasu too,so likely Rohr go for Uzoho.

2007 was the era of the Yemi Tella's boys.

Was that not when we played Spain?
Mickael2:
ehm I don't know if you have been corrected but I am sure Ajiboye and Bojan never actually occupied one field at that U17

I quoted you... I stated my opinion... We fix people's opinions sometimes here in that manner so it is nothing new really cheesy Why getting so worked up over nothing? wink

And also, I showed you why your mentioning Aiyenugba is absurd. He is not in Rohr's plans. Finito. Thank you too Mr somehow.

P.S: Ajiboye have been invited by Rohr himself. #fact
I dont take pleasure in anyone cancelling out my comment, like i said its disrespectful, take correction and move on sir, you can do for others who dont see anything wrong with it but not my comment. thanks.

Well Akpeyi was also in his plans and invited before he got screwed over by himself, so what makes you think those he's picking has been confirmed? He invited Ajiboye but never used him, so what fact does that display?

for now, nothing is confirmed when it comes to the GK position.
