Funny enough, we have always had players directly from the Local league play for the NT even when the league was worse off than what we presently have and some of them actually did well. I bet its because we now have access to options outside the league, hence the reason we think all at home are totally bad. Stephen Odey that just moved last year might end up in the NT within 2 years (just for changing location), might not have been different from the Odey but let me stop here for now. after the world cup, i will bring up this issue again. tbaba1234: We need to work on improving the local league. Academies, better coaching and administration. |

Too bad, meaning these guys (ALL) are going to fade out after tomorrow, not even one "fit" enough to transition into the main team. tbaba1234: Osas is not on the level of those already there. very average imo
Eze/Orji showed their frailties when they faced a decent team. Leaving the keeper exposed several times.

Okay but these 2 aren't really new to the world cup squad, Rohr has always invited them to camp. What about Osas? doesn't deserve at least to be available for the friendlies? Ojo? Eze? maybe Orji? Faleye? (Friendlies) tbaba1234: We have rode our luck to get this far. GK heroics against Angola and Sudan.
Whatever happens, they have already exceeded expectations.
Honestly, i do not think any of the outfield players will be making the world cup list. There is no one stand-out player. Who can you say is outstanding?
Ezenwa and Ajiboye are the only ones in consideration for the WC. |

As depleted as our CHAN team is due to injuries and suspension, how are we likely to file out against the Moroccans tomorrow?
What happens if Ajiboye ends up conceding more than 2 goals tomorrow or if we end up losing?
Are we going to take away the hard-work some of the players have put in already?
Do we have any stand out player from this squad that should be among the 30-35 man list for the worldcup? not saying they must go to the world cup.
Anyways from here that should be included in the matches coming up? (Friendlies?) |

Sir, do you have comprehension problem or you just want to quote people out of context? can you prove or show me where i requested or demanded that anyone must be world class before he can be called to play for us? Secondly, because i mixed up the name of the player i was discussing with Tbaba means i am ignorant? are they both not playing in German league? are they both not defenders? are they both not being listed here as players we should call to the NT to replace those already there? Please if its likes you're looking for, i will gladly give you 2000 of it, but stop trying to sound clever by being abusive or insulting with your write up. i can go same route but everyone can't be mad at the same time. someone corrected me yesterday and i acknowledged the mix up, but your "made up mind" jumped that part because you already had what to type in mind. please stay your line and don't let us turn this place upside down. everybody get him own 5 minutes madness! ChrisKels: This place is gradually turning to a creepy theatrical home where the most queer of opinions are dropped.
Yesterday I read a post from a certain Andrew calling one of the most coveted U20 defenders(Uduokhai) in Europe's top five leagues bellow average.
Today, forgiveness came with a bang, it reads "if Akpoguma and Adarabioyo of all defenders, turn up, Awaziem's (another top, highly rated and coveted U20 defender in one of Europe's top five leagues) place in Eagles is up for grabs.
Don't even know how best to describe "Somehow's" opinion when he ignorantly seconded Andrew's assertion whereas he didn't even know who uduokhai was neither had he seen him play, next, he showed how bereft he was of the info about the guy in question when he became comic by alluding that Uduokhai was same person as Akpoguma.
Either of this two "Andre and somehow" even asked that we allow the FBs become world class before we poach them, lol I was like Chai, just the way we allowed Alaba and Dele Alli become world class abi? Besides, our team is filled with world class players people and their opinions sef
U people are too much and I must commend those who take their time to quote and correct this kinda people with weird opinions. Left for me, na to just read and pass
Modified. If you cant prove the bolded here, you must apologize to me or else i will TURN here upside down! accusation (false) is what i don't take likely. |

This has nothing to do with the recent set of players deciding to play or not. You're going in another dimension. SerVik: A corruption free and transparent organization is always more attractive, at least to honest people.
I gave an example with Rohr. Rohr has been transparent thus far, diligently going about his duties, even farther than his job description.

yea we know Balogun is currently not fit. I have watched this GUY play against our youth team before or is it not that same guy? i haven't really watched him of recent so i can't say if he's that "good" on the ball and faster. Remember African football is way different from European football, if and when he wears the GWG shirt, he might come out different from how you see him at his club. our current players (some) perform well in their various clubs but struggle while in the GWG while vice versa is to some. tbaba1234: He can replace Balogun or Ekong if needed.
Eye for a pass, confident, good on his feet and fast. Better on the ball than Ekong, faster than Balogun.
Balogun needs to start playing regularly to be in good shape. |

How does "corruption" in our team address the point of using Nigeria as Plan B? not like we don't have tens of players wishing to play for us. playing for us has nothing to do with "corruption sir" SerVik: I didn't join the argument in support or otherwise of the invitation of udokhai, I only reacted to a statement you made and seeing that we had treated that issue at a point, when Mujtahida and joebie schooled us, I decided to chip in.
See, as a player, these guys make decisions for career advancement. In deciding which country to play for, it is easy for these guys to choose the glamorous European teams. I said we should clean our house and you misconstrued it.
We can clean our house by eliminating corruption in our teams. Tell me our team isn't more attractive with Rohr? This is a man that would make calls to clubsides to find out why his players are not playing, a coach that looks for club for his players, th at is career advancement, every player would want that kind of coach.
My qualm with your patriotism argument is that you are pinning the patriot tag on people that had it easy, they never had to make the hard choice. You speak about Ebuehi, I admire the young man but if we're being honest, at this point the super Eagles is more attractive than the Dutch national team. Fact. And he never even got the invite. |

His height is a plus to the NT if ROhr gets him to play. tbaba1234: He is as good as the best CB we have. I only feel he won't start because of being fairly new not because of quality. Sir, read some of their interviews, we have articles posted here about them. i didn't "choose" to "believe", i am reacting based on what the article quoted them saying. Did the guy in question get invitation and rejected it? Ebuehi is one that is close to rejecting that of Holland. SerVik: You CHOOSE to believe they did not see us as a plan B, it doesn't make it true. Even balogun said it would have been a difficult choice if Germany had come knocking. It was an easy choice for these guys because they were not in the frame for their foreign teams. It was, practically speaking, play for Nigeria or forget international football.
Please list all the foreign borns playing for Nigeria and tell me which of them received an invitation from their foreign nation and rejected it in favour of nigeria |

If he won't be starting, then i don't see why we even need him now, but if the coach thinks he is what he needs, what can i do? it's his responsibility, but i don't see a 20 years old as our lord and savior at the back. our 5 and 6 currently playing for us are ahead of him. yes i said so. One of the reasons Rohr prolly wants him i think has to do with his height, the "short" man is obsessed with "tall things" tbaba1234: The core of Rohr's squad is known. At least 15-17 players are known Anyone who thinks he will make rapid changes does not know the man. He will only introduce players that can improve areas in his team.
A kid in his first season in the top flight has to be out of this world to get into the jam-packed German squad. Na so easy to enter the current germany squad?? The fact that he is being courted by big clubs gives you an idea of his potential.
Even if Udokhai makes the team, i do not expect him to start because he is new. He would be brought on if we have to defend a lead. |

We should clean our house and reputation before they decide to play for us? who is the we? meaning the players seeing us as Plan B aren't among the "we"? like they are foreigners or mercenaries? Balogun, Trooks, Ebuehi didn't see us as plan B, same with others so i am not against FBP, only against the plan B players. SerVik: I thought this issue has been thoroughly trashed on here and squashed as a myth we choose to believe to sooth our frail ego?
You should know that if given an opportunity, most of these foreign borns will choose their class A European countries ahead of us. There is absolutely no shame accepting that.
What we need to do now is clean our image and build up our reputation to be more appealing and make it easier for players to choose us. I think we're on the right path in that regard |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 12:40pm On Feb 02, 2018 |
I know what they have, just trying to know why he thinks the guy is above average TheSuperNerd: Come on guys... chillax... The German national team got lots of quality in their defence. Check these out,
Nicklas Sulé, Antonio Rudiger, Willi Orban, Mathias Ginter, Skodran Mustafi, Jonathan Tah.... etc are all quality CB options for Germany.
The first choice CBs are Jerome Boateng and Mats Hummels.
Now ask yourself... compared to our own defensive options, does Uduokahi's quality stand a chance of breaking in ahead of even Rudiger, Sulé, Tah or Mustafi??!!! That is four bad-ass options here and there is still Hummels and Boateng at the very top of the pile... Holy Moses!!!!
Nigeria boasts of only Balogun, Ekong, Awaziem and Omeruo as Fine Quality... who else do we have as Fine quality? Efe Ambrose?? Uche Agbo? Abeg who? Do you see the issue here?
So Felix Uduokahi's inability to break into the Germany squad will not be based on his potentials, quality or abilty because those are not in doubt. It will rather be based on the guys already ahead of him who also boast similar potentials and abilities like him. Guys like Tah, Sulé, and co for instance.
So biko... let us not use that "let him break into Germany squad first if he is that good" mentality to rate him because truth is even our own Awaziem will not find it funny breaking into that same German side.
That is all I wanna say to set matters straight here. Uduokhai is a top quality young CB and that cannot be taken away from him. Period. |
