I think this aerial ball issue has to do with short goal keepers except exceptional GKs! TheSuperNerd: I knew about his weakness aerially right from the U-17s and U-20s and the game against Morocco only showed he hasn't yet overcome that weakness. So no... It is not about just one game.
As for Uzoho, he claimed two aerial threats comfortably against the Argentines. That is just half a game but the hns were very good for a 19-year-old kid. We need to see more of him in the friendlies and also sew why Deportivo believws in him that much. They say he learns in a week what it takes months or years for most other young goalies to learn. I think we have a special talent in Uzoho but the friendlies will show us more |

None in the main national team! DrKlever: How many of those Moroccans were in the team that qualified them for world cup? They have so much synergy for a team that was just assembled for the CHAN. They seem to be playing together for a while, hope we didn't play their national side? |

Will find a way to watch this match. BascoVanVeli: Loanees Ideye, Emenike, Etebo, Isaac Success clash in La Liga relegation dog fight
By admin - February 5, 2018, 9:24 am
As many as four Nigeria stars could be in action in La Liga tonight when strugglers UD Las Palmas welcome Malaga – Brown Ideye and Isaac Success, Emmanuel Emenike and Oghenekaro Etebo
All four players are on loan to their respective La Liga clubs. Las Palmas, who could have Emenike and Etebo, are second from bottom of the table with 14 points from 21 matches.
Etebo, for one, has an option of a permanent deal at the end of his loan spell at Las Palmas.
Malaga, who will have Ideye and Success available, are rock bottom of the standings on 13 points.

I actually dropped about 3 names. Icon4s: That is a personal opinion.
And yes the team that went to Spain played better football than this team just also like the last two CHAN teams played better football. But a lot of those players have left the local league. These are the ones around now.
The league cannot simply give what it does not have. That is my point. And if you know any player that deserved to be in this team but was left out please mention the name and let's discuss it. |

Good response from an enlightened fellow. TheGoodJoe: Which Insurance? The one that has been stuck in Division Two? :roll:Who from MFM is missing from this team? Apart from Stephen Odey who is now overseas? Meanwhile, Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Stephen Ezeh were at Ifeanyi Ubah when they were called up for the team. We should always be ready for introspection when we lose. That's the only real 'benefit' of losing (to review, learn, correct and do better next time), but sadly in Nigeria the instinct is almost always to go to the DARK and BASE place - ethnicity, religion, etc. Unfortunately, because we miss the real problems (and chase shadows) we keep repeating our mistakes. This comment is filled up with ignorance! Where insurance of Benin dey? Ubahfc? Happening players there are not Nigerians. For MFM, they sold their happening players already (Odey), Ifeanyi made the list but (sold to Akwa though) and we saw his red card offence before now. Those who went to Spain for the invitational tournament, most aren't in the league again and part of those that went made the selection. Too many ignorant people talking, now they are trying to bring religion into it! TheGoodJoe: Some interesting comments:
Truly speaking, this group of players cannot be said to be the best in our local league. Even though they were hurriedly selected, I see some nepotic and religious spicing in the list. How many players came from MFN, Ifeanyi Uba, Insurance etc. Last year Nigeria local based were carefully selected to Spain for a tour, I saw some of the great games they played against some Spanish club team, in fact they played quality football. Using that incident to judge him to me isn't that cool. Remember the ball went outside, meaning passing the wrong route, then back into the field of play, he must have been expecting the ball Through the normal route (within the field of play), but the ball ended up coming from another route (outside the field of play) which must have cancelled out his calculations. Let's try to also see things the way they are. We have seen great goal keepers missing something like this, it was a banana type of corner kick which changed direction abeit the wrong way. I will rather judge him with a correct Arial ball than an incorrect one. TheSuperNerd: And Uzoho we shall see again and again... We got five friendlies lined up...so make una relax.
Talk about now... Ajiboye is still weak on aerial balls....
How many he fumbled? Loolll... I will ask how many he even got to face... Just that one he got which was converted but later ruled out was superbly miscalculated. This is a trait even Ezenwa showed during the qualifiers against Algeria. Ajiboye is still weak aerially. I think your question is out to show he is not weak there abi? Anyway, I just know that Rohr will drop either of Ezenwa or Ajiboye.... And whether we like it or not, I think I can tell you who Rohr will drop. |

Yes I think so. Osas would have been more useful as a 7 than a 2, plays more like Dani Alves without his defensive side. Icon4s: Are those ones still in the league?
If Salisu had left out someone like Osas Okoro now, that's how some people would have been mentioning his name here asking why he was not selected.

There are better players in the league, there's that played for Remo stars that's now with Akwa utd should have made this team,(mbaoma or something like that) same with Olatunbosi. Icon4s: Since you are so sure there are definitely better players please name those players. Then, there is this Akwa United skipper that plays as a striker, he was the one that replaced Udoh abi na Udoak after he was sold. Too bad I don't get to remember names, I'm better at recalling faces but not their names |

How I wish there is a way I can keep our best in the league!
Every season, our best get shipped out and we are left with shafts..
Every season, some even go to leagues as low as Cambodian league!
Today embarrassed me meen.. went out to watch it and I got tired of explaining to other viewers.
I surely know these sets (some) aren't our best.
Olatunbosi would have at least added more bite to the forward line.
Oluwa is also have been useful in the midfield only that he's very "short".
And too many old legs in the league! |

How did you know this? Were you at the scene and what was used to ascertain who did better according to what you wrote here or is it hearsay? TheGoodJoe: He never stood out in training. Alampasu was ahead followed by Ezenwa. So no need putting Rohr in the equation because Rohr showed he did not like and trust the Goalkeeper trainer of the team, Alloy Agu and brought in a foreigner.

Most of their players aren't academy players, most are pros. Doing well on the continent is another ball game entirely. Their debut and I am not expecting anything from them. If they achieve anything, then they have tried. jihday: Basco, somehow and other ardent followers of the local league, with MFM bad traveling record coupled with the fact that most of their players are young academy players, do you think they'll do well on the continent? we really need to go far this time around I think since sunshine stars made it to the semifinals I'm not sure any Nigerian side have done well on the continent. we can't afford to wait for a very long time before we win it again. these North African sides no get 2 heads na and it's not like they play better than us. |

Iwobi fits perfectly well in this formation. Meaning he can be used even with Mithy on the field of play. Wenger knows what he's getting from the lad. 4:0 (HT) Last goal was a clear offside though, a FIFA referee acting as an assistant missed that clear offside? English FIFA ref The one in the middle missed 2 clear fouls against Mithy and the Arsenal's French defender. We have them good and bad everywhere |
