Until all known weaknesses are corrected/replaced, I think both is the answer for now. Why go with an Ezenwa or Akpeyi if we can find a better option (which obviously are available)?

And your assertion is purely wrong because a true Christian should never be paying tithe, paying tithe means you think you owe God and needs to pay God (the workings of the law) which relegates the death and ressuretion of Jesus Christ. He ushered in grace which was missing in the era of law where people needed to obey all the laws to be seen righteous.

By coersion, threat of devourers, inducement and enticement. They keep quote Mal 3:10 to put fears and enticement in the minds of members.

Some churches tie Salvation to tithing, same time God's blessings solely on tithing etc.

Some also use tithe booklets to know those who pay and don't so as to segregate, some call out tithers in public just to make them look or feel like true "Christians", some churches give titles to those who are seen as tithers e.t.c

You can't say these stuffs I listed here are untrue.

And it's now going to be difficult using where he currently plays to disqualify him since to present crops of GKs aren't doing at better.

I'm also losing interest in Enyeama already and I think there are other known "matured" GKs out there the coach can look at if we must go with old/experienced GK.

As for our league, we kinda run it like the Dutch league where other leagues come to pick the best.

1) Enyeama gets back to playing and decides to return to d team
2) Ikeme recovers from Leukemia and decides to continue playing football
3) Uzoho gets more playing time with Diportivo first team...

Why cut off when Yobo was the starman for us in the eagles? You are rating Shittu when he was at his best for us but using another standard for Yobo?

As for omeruo, looking at what I look at when rating or picking defenders, I will go with Omeruo before anything Shittu. In this day and age, a defender like Shittu will likely be smart attacker's toast including the ref because he was raw and rash then. He was very good in the air and can run too, tired less but bad timing, unwarranted bamboozing of balls into the stands was the order of the day during his time.

In African settings, maybe old nations cup, I'll pick him to deal with his fellow jambody old school African players but in this age and time, penalty and dead ball go full opponent hand.

We nicknamed him rugby redhorn shittu.

I'm not comparing Yobo and Shittu cos generally i will rate Yobo but between 2006-2010 spent with eagles Shittu was the best.

Yobo declined like we have all pointed out and w didn't get good replacement, we tried various legs including shittu, we had to make do of some which included Shittu, this doesn't mean shittu was better than Yobo at his best. Let's even make it easy, at their best, who would you pick for a world cup tournament? I repeat (at their best, you surely know when yobo was our newest bride then in the SE and when Shittu came along).

Many coaches tried many players, Apam, Adeleye, Shittu and so many others but we were still poor defensively then Keshi removed Yobo and since then we have been strong relatively, what does that tell you?

Bro, this argument won't change stats and facts I hope you know? His age as at when he played for us doesn't matter to me. What he did or undid matters. We all have our views on past players based on how we saw them play.

He made his debut with an appearance under Onigbinde and was forgotten till around 2006/07,came into the team XI and partner Yobo till he left the team.Pls how old was Yobo in 2007 - 2010 that Shittu spent with eagles.During this period Shittu was a better performance.Did you know Keshi gave him wild card to Afcon and WC but refused the invitation.

Very possible hoping they sell him to a foreign club after the worldcup "if" he makes it or become our first choice.

U should know that with our local coach,there will be some bias and politics in players selection... even if Theo and Ajiboye perform better than Ezenwa at the CHAN,he will still get picked ahead of d duo... im even thinking that Enyimba will make Ezenwa their first choice to brighten his chance for making the WC list... there's some benefits from FIFA for clubs whose players get selected for d WC I think

No sir, check my comments, I rated him mostly by what I remembered of him in our jesery. Didn't even bring up his club he played for. His style of play and what we nicknamed him at viewing centers are fresh in my memory.

He was great but played with these clubs all through his career? Great? That word seems not to have a meaning on this issue. Anyways to each his own, let's concentrate on the present and future.

dude, this guy captained Millwall and Bolton(?), this guy was a fan's favourite at Blackpool and QPR, the guy is the record goalscorer(defender) for Blackpool and so many other things, Shittu was great EoD

Well yobo of 2002-2006 was never bad as you painted it. To be rated among the best of defenders for the eagles? That debatable but to say Shittu better. I reject am. (This is no sentiment), stats support me.

I would never ever rate Yobo among our best defenders, Yobo exemplified a period of defensive frailities for the Eagles, he was never really outstanding(except as a fullback) and he continued playing because of sentiments

Like I said, Yobo was already declining when Shittu came into the picture, I said so in my comment. But to say he was better than Yobo at their prime is way way below the belt.

A lot forget the same Yobo cost us 2006 WC ticket against Angola,the best of Yobo was 2001 -2006,from 2006 -2010 it was average Yobo 2010-2014 was using his past glory to make the team nothing more,that was the reason Keshi just have to benched him for Omeruo at Afcon 2013.

Truly one of the best defender to come out of Nigeria but not in the class of Keshi,Chidi Nwanu,Uche Okechukwu, Christian Chuckwu,Taribo West.

During Shittu's era, we had a dearth of defenders so he was seen as "good" so we had no option. He was a rugby kind of defender good for only African jam body kind of play.

how can you even be saying this thing, Danny Shittu? I believe Omeruo is a good player, a fantastic one, when it comes to ball-playing he might just be better than Shittu but Shittu is way way better than him in everyother aspect, well not way way better but definetly better

I didn't say he was totally bad but to say he's better than yobo, that I disagree with, I also believe he's not as good as omeruo (if both are at their best)

Yobo was still a starter in 2013 just before the nations cup. He only lost his place due to injury.

I will not go as far as putting him alongside West but for the short period he played for Nigeria, he was good.

Shittu was one of the best CBs we have ever had, ever!

Better than yobo that was on a decline then, remember it was the period he got his nick name "calamity yobo" so using a declining yobo to rate shittu is really not a good yardstick for comparison.

During that period, we had defensive issues too so we needed any "average" to do it for us. I wouldn't rate Shittu as one of our best, not to talk of rating him among defenders like Taribo west haba.

I rate defenders based on how they handle attackers or balls that come their way. Any defender that is only good at bashooking balls into the thin air, corner, throwins or to his opponent's halve isn't a good player IMO.

I have what I use in rating defenders and to me, Danny shittu at his best is not as good as Kenneth Omeruo at his best.

Danny Shittu cams late as regards Eagles career.I remember how Onigbinde first called him into national team but dropped prior to 2002 WC but still wondering why cos he showed the class than Sodje even regular Enakhire.

I remember Keshi gave him a call prior to 2014 WC but declined the invitation.Shittu might not be flamboyant one or find it difficult to make headlines but he was solid.He always have high rating than Yobo in few moments he spent with eagles,pls check him out at 2010 WC,he was Nigeria best defender.

Well I don't know how inform some of these players are since the league is yet to resume, he used last season's performance as yardstick. Hopefully he's going to allow Ajiboye and Theophilus to mount the goal post too.

Shittu ke? Shittu was never one of our best defenders. I even prefer Omeruo at his best to Shittu's best. Nobi by muscle.

Omeruo isn't that bad (at his best), and he's gradually getting back to his best.

Actually I do not rate him highly, but in the context of what we have I think he should be considered.

I used Omeruo as a benchmark who also I do not rate highly. As it stands the CB'S we have are not top class they are below the standards of Yobo, Taribo and Shittu in my opinion, when they were in thier prime.

My view is that we should be testing and considering players to see if we can improve on what we have. Otherwise we may have a very rude awakening at the World Cup. Friendly games are good for testing but are not the best for concluding your progression.

Everyone sold Deulofeu back to Barcelona not loan.
