Joel Obi should be in Russia bar injury, I see him as someone who can control the midfield with or without Mikel on the field of play. He should go and learn from van perse on how he overcame his injuries. forgiveness: Joel Obi also had long periods of sustained performance for Inter milan for two seasons though he spent most times on the bench the second season.
Last season, he played 11 matches before he got injured and a total of 20 games but with limited time.
His case is not different from a Roben Arten but will drop Robben if your the coach because of his tendency of getting injury? |

Mourinho of then is more successful than mourinho of now. junnyjake: It's his style fine, and if he's to progress that much further, he needs to understand others and shouldn't always be the other way round.
Can you compare the Mourinho of then, to the mourinho of now? He's a bit more reserved and sensible of recent.
Or you think he'd always be afforded with the luxury of scattering everything before building up, by team owners who are looking after their business.
For example he's given a 6-month contract to save a team from relegation and his contract can be extended if he succeed, would you advise him to spend all his time hunting for coaches and players to sack just because they don't fit in or advise him to get to work almost immediately with what is made available to him. |

Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 8:36am On Dec 07, 2017 |
Not bad, well there is enough time for the coach to decide, alot can happen between now and then and none of the 3 might even make it to Russia. That's the power of time and chance. safarigirl: he was subbed at the 75th minute. Onyekuru had a 25 minutes appearance
The only reason I'm staying away from the Nwakaeme argument is simply because like many had opined after that Algerian match, that pitch was too bad for anyone to show their real mettle and nay have hindered him.
We can say Ogu scored a 25-yard screamer on same pitch, but that is Ogu with longer legs and without the pressure of being tgw point man.
If Nwakaeme had been given a few minutes against Argentina and we saw him on a better pitch, I would have better argued his case.
I think sadly, that luck is really not on his side, if we had more time, maybe his situation would have been better, but it is too late to hold faith with anyone that is yet to prove himself to some extent
As it stands the battle for the last Forward spot is between:
Nwakaeme Onyekuru Kayode
And I think based on performance, Onyekuru is taking the lead, but Rohr may think differently.
PS: Rohr doesn't like Kayode. Those five minute cameos he gives him in virtually every match are testament to that. |

Enyeama singlehandedly made sure Dele Aiyenugba was signed by his Isreali club from Enyimba when he was about to leave the club.

Yea what people can't control, conquer, understand, they hate. kennysville: May God reward you richly for this post. I have said this severally concerning Sunday Oliseh. He has his own methods. I can relate to his style of leadership because discipline is key. If you know where you are going, the whole world steps aside. It is when people dont value you that they start to question your moves. Its something I experience most times and I laugh at people because they just want things done in a way that you dont compromise relationships. I say to hell with whatever relationship will mar my productivity. What Oliseh did at Fortuna Dusseldoff was to remove any iota of player power which lately seems to be the order of the day in world football. I would rather have players who are loyal to my ideas and ideals than players who have a different philosophy or question every decision I make. You may not know this, but thats how dissension starts in a team.
I hear a lotta people talk about man management. Truth be told, human beings are one's greatest asset and also they are one's greatest problem. Its all about serving the right purposes. If someone wont serve my purpose, there is no way we would get along. Especially because when things go wrong, my name comes first. Lets recap a little.... Oliseh never lost a competitive qualifiers thus callin him names regarding the Afcon loss is a bit unfair. The chief culprit is Siasia who drew at home and lost away to Egypt. But what does the narrative say now? OLISEH FAILED TO QUALIFY NIGERIA FOR AFCON. We know the rest of the story. |

Mujtahida: Bros Nwakaeme was subbed at about 70 minutes into the game. Do you mean he was subbed in the first half? Nwakaeme should be given a chance but I have strong doubts he'd come good. He seems not to have the gene of an Eagle. Maybe he's a hawk but not an Eagle. 70 minutes? I doubt that. Until he's given another chance, won't judge him based on that lone incident. A player doing well in Israel and Europa can't be that bad all of a sudden. (Not like I prefer him to any better forwards, just trying to play the devil's advocate here). |

That question should go to the coach, he knows what he wants, no one is forcing anyone down your throat, the way some of you talk self, person go think say na una dey pick players. We have seen some undeserving players the coach called so far, some have not even been given 2 mins play time yet the coach keeps calling them. It's the job of the coach, he knows what he wants, Ezenwa was called in place of betters GKs in the league, so if it's by "how good you are, Ezenwa wouldn't have smelt the SE camp. It's the coach that knows what he wants in a player and if he decides to call Martins or even Macaulay, it's his decision to make which you can do nada about. Some of una self too dey extremely sentimental. Downgrading players that have paid their dues just to promote your bias. OMANBALA1: If Martins was better going by your drift why wasn't he invited even when we needed a top striker and Ighalo was not doing well or injured and Iheanacho was chopping bench. Answer that question and you will deduce why he is not better. The guy is a spent force. Quit trying to force him down our throats. |

Also jugding him just after 40 mins play on a not so good pitch, Aina also flopped on that same pitch, yet was given another chance. Some people here never use leg touch ball before but na their mouth sharp pass when it comes to comdemnng players. goldfish80: You went too far to drive home your point. mazimee: Nwakaeme is another below average that should be thrown out through the window. His expliots in Israeli League earned him an invite only to mess up when he was supposed to deliver. Better players? You mean Martins is bad? Please currently who as a striker in the SE is better than Martins form wise? My stands on this issue is "let's allow the coach do his job". Let's discuss more of our opponents etc OMANBALA1: Obafemi Martins played a single game when Oliseh was there if I am not mistaken and that was the last we heard about him. Rohr never invited him through out our impressive qualifiers run and we still dont need him. Let him make his top dollars and let the better players play. Like I said sir, that's his style of coaching, he's more of a klopp/pep/mourinho (coaches that prefer players they can control), that's his philoshophy and I don't see him changing it for anything. He's been like that even from his playing days so you think he will just change all of a sudden? He's blunt, outspoken and likes to have his way and like I said, it's working for him. Pep chased away some players when he took over Barcelona, did same in Man city, mourinho did same too. Keshi was known for that too but talked less unlike oliseh, what he's doing is not peculiar as you have also noticed so let's just wish him the best and allow him grow in his own right. junnyjake: Of course, I respect what Oliseh is doing at his club and I'm proud of him. Yes, those coaches also have problems with their players, they go about it maturely.

National team is just one of his various jobs he's handled, so how come you are using the national team to judge him 100%? Not all Nigerian coaches had it easy with the SE, some had to become puppets while some didn't. Siasia had issues with the players too, Keshi had with the Togolese players, it's not peculiar to Oliseh, it has more to do with Africans not respecting their own. Before national team, he coached some European youth teams and now he's doing it with a top club. Cut him some slacks and don't expect everyone to act the way you want. That's his style and so far so good is working for him. He's not the only coach with this way of working, they are every where in the world including known names. (Mourinho, pep etc). junnyjake: We've seen how he handled the National Team, same he he treated the veteran captain at his new club then went on to give the captain band to a 17 year old. He also had problems with the coaching staffs, some had to leave the club because of that.
The best thing that can happen to him is maturity. |
