greenhulk: I get u. I don't think etisalat 4g is official yet. Come to think of it, is it only me if it that etisalat have throttled their 3g speed ever since they started working on their 4g launch. I can't get more than 3mbps for close to 2 months now. Maybe it's my location, if tried it in 3 of different locations same thing. What speed are u currently getting? Same thing with MTN, their 3g speed hardly gets past 5mbps now, I normally get up to 17mbps before they started working on their 4g.
And MTN know what they are doing. They don't want to many people to jump on their 4g just yet. That's why they are not selling 4g ready sim cards. Imagine I went to their office to upgrade my sim and they said it's not registered in my name so they can't upgrade. I then asked them to sell me a new 4g ready sim card and they said I have to buy a normal sim card and use it for like 2 days, then come back to your upgrade it to 4g. U can imagine that. How many people have that much time? Why can't they sell 4g sim card cards without need to upgrade? whoah, and i get up to 12mbps on mtn and 18mbps on etisalat, but it's not exactly like it was fast like it used to before, but not that bad.. for me I actually even think the customer cares know little or nothing about this 4G thing.. i too also went to their office, i was told it wasn't yet out.. just ignored them cos I'd be traveling soon anyways.. i think the 4G thing is still in it's infancy so definitely hiccups from here and there would surely emerge.. just pray it's only temporal.. that's my initial fear.. |

greenhulk: Somehowp, don't be deceived by this speed. This is speed at launch and by the time 1 million people get on it it will drastically slow down. By the time they get like 20 million subscribers on the LTE don't be surprised the peak speed will be around 40mbps on average. This is wireless connection. The only time u can get this speed on steady is on a wired connection and u need to pay much for that. Average LTE speed in usa is around 15-20mbps and in Korea and Singapore that hsve some of the fastest LTE it is around 40-50mbps.
At launch Ntel gave us around 75mbps and that's just about 5 months ago. Now their average speed is around 30-45mbps and they don't even have 1/5th of the subscribers MTN have. yeah you are right, i know about wired networks and i know about peak speeds and all, only wanted to clear his doubt, he made it seem impossible.. do you condone a situation where my 3G speed on Etisalat is actually higher than One on LTE, even though his network is just 2bars down?.. that was what i was condemning initially.. Etisalat just launched too and they can't even decieve us with Peak speed? I can ascertain for sure that the 4G these guys will give out in Nigeria would be an embarrassment to the Word 4G itself.. That was my initial reason. |
Phones › Re: Etisalat 4G LTE Network Now In Nigeria by somehowpenis(m): 7:38pm On Oct 08, 2016 |
COMPAQ: Don't be daft. There is nowhere in the world LTE gives you 100Mbps! Last I checked the fastest average LTE speeds are circa 35 Mbps is south Korea. You can only get 100mbps with wired Internet you obviously mean MB/s and not mbps. Retard.. you want to know the best part about this?? This was from MTN lte Nigeria.

DesChyko: Can you make a rough estimate of how many Africans are on Whatsapp? Can you pinpoint how many can comfortably afford a smartphone that meet Whatsapp specs? Can you analyse how many would actually prefer a low-end phone?
Add your guess to the current number of Google Allo downloads should it be made available to them. the total number of africans on whatsapp is not even up to Two major states in the United states. And using your statistics to answer you half of the African populace are using an Android Chinese mtk phones that support whatsapp, 1/3rd are on highend smartphones, while the remaining are the blackberry /older phone models, all these statistics were put in place before whatsapp CEO decided to take the decision.. . |

DesChyko: Seriously, you think it's easy on those bb users who're trading in their hard-earned phones for scrap these days?
Or for those old-timers who're enjoying Whatsapp on their easily operable Java phones?
These are enough to drive the Allo demand up. nah it is not.. you are using Nigeria as your case study, while Whatsapp are obviously using the World , marjoly the united states, as their case study. |

BLINGZ88: People won't use the allo app unless they sort out their privacy issue. Google have a long history of abusing people's privacy. And to add salt to the injury, a former NSA agent SNOWDEN (you might have heard of him, he is currently on exile in russia for leaking US secrets) have warned people about the allo app. oh? I am never getting this pointless app then. |

Apple ranks the number 1 company of the year again.. Google follows up in second place... For the fourth consecutive year, Apple has topped Interbrand’s annual ranking of being the most valuable brand of the year. The Cupertino company’s brand value rose by 5 percent to $178.1 billion. This is significantly higher than Google, which ranked in second with a brand value of $133 billion. The company’s brand value did increase by 11 percent compared to 5 percent for Apple. It is commendable that Apple’s brand value has increased in the last year despite iPhone sales slowing down its new products like the MacBook and Apple Watch selling only in modest numbers, and its revenue declining. The report from Interbrand praises Apple for increasing its ecosystem value by building products that are interoperable with each other. This interoperability makes it easier for users to quickly switch between various new Apple devices without any hassle. Apple is the Alpha of Cohesiveness in full effect. In Interbrand’s top growing brands of 2016 list though, Apple was nowhere to be found, with Facebook coming in at the top with a 48 percent in its brand value in a single year. Amazon ranked in second with its brand value rising by 33 percent. Apple Once Again Ranked Most Valuable Brand Ahead of Google and Others. Ranked again the number one brand of the world!
