http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=611266&sec=england&cc=3888 Manchester City have confirmed that Robinho is no longer at the club's training camp in Tenerife. GettyImages Robinho has added to City's woes. The Brazilian reportedly stormed out of the camp on Monday night after learning that the club would not be signing his international team-mate Kaka. City's executive chairman Garry Cook told the BBC: "I do know Robinho is not at the training centre in Tenerife. "If he has left the training ground it is a breach of club discipline. I am waiting for a full debrief." It is believed the 24-year-old has grown sullen at Eastlands, as he has become frustrated with City's underperformance on the pitch, while his latest outburst threatens his own future at the club, with Chelsea monitoring the situation. Robinho is believed to have flown back to Brazil to consider his situation at City, but the club have given no official reason for his departure. The Blues smashed the British transfer record when they splashed out £32.5million on the 24-year-old in August last year and, on a personal level, Robinho has been a success, netting 12 goals for his new club - becoming an instant hit with the City faithful. But the player has a history of problems off the pitch, with then-Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon claiming that ''his departure from Madrid [to City] wasn't just due to sporting reasons, there is something else, which I can't understand.'' Robinho has also hit out at City this season, criticising them for their "small-time mentality", which had many questioning his commitment to the club. City's failure to establish themselves in the top half of the table under manager Mark Hughes is bound to be a further source of disappointment and it is believed a bust-up with the City boss is at the heart of the matter. |
Ibime:I agree it is a possibility and I stated so. I was shocked at Nateevs reply really. I just went through our squad list and noticed a few names that would have reduce OPEX at the end of the season. Didier Drogba Michael Ballack Florent Malouda Paulo Ferreira Deco Salomon Kalou Carlo Cudicini Mineiro - I think he's on loan? Alex - He wants to leave Juliano Belletti Nicolas Anelka Michael Mancienne We should promote Gaël Kakuta to the first team |
nateevs:I don't understand the above, please kindly explain. nateevs:Last year figures showed wages were about 133m while revenue was about 190.5m. Using those figures, theoretically we should support wages but realistically we need to make cuts. Players like Ballack, Deco, Anelka, Drogba, Malouda etc should leave at the end of the season we can go for youngsters and give them time to grow under a good manager. It does not make business sense to sack Scolari also except he leaves with nothing. LINK: http://www.footballeconomy.com/archive/archive_2008_feb_17.htm |
Nateevs, Neither you nor Ibime work with RA so how should I believe the assertions you put forward. At best they are likely possibilities. You need to categorically show that RA lacks liquid funds "AKA hard cash" to support the club. I have failed to see such evidence. Moreover, our revenue forecast should, in theory, support players' wages which seem to be the bone of contention here. We have bought no new players so no extra costs exist. Stadium costs and other miscellaneous may be something to look at though. Bottom line is rumours about RA's dwindling finances and intent to sell off the club are unfounded. |
Nateevs, Do you or do you not agree that Scolari had a major role to play in Bridge's transfer? If he did then what point are you making? I think my statements where made on well informed assertions. See Akola's link for details. |
Ibime:You have a way of quoting (or mis-quoting) everyone else to inaccurately explain your points. Since no one else got the chance to see this would you mind displaying references? Ibime:What kind of football? Spurs - Draw, ManU - Draw, Liverpool - lost, Arsenal - Lost. Was Drogba the cause of that? He wasn't even in the team. Well done for objectivity. Now we can safely conclude that Drogba is an evil spirit with supernatural powers. Ibime:How you can string people's statement to support your ridiculous assertion is award wining. You deserve the Oscars. Ibime:Once again you engage in your gospel of distortion. Scolari named a couple of players and referred to no one in particular but it seems you are a champion at mind reading. Well done. Alex also wants to leave btw but your hatred for Drogba has so beclouded your "objectivity" that you see Drogba in every evil . . . probably even in your failed lottery tickets. Brigde was chased away by Scolari too but you wouldn't think out of the Drogba box will you? |
nateevs:This is so misleading! How come I don't see Ibime coming to rant about objectivity now? We almost lost the game and you still found a reason to praise Scolari, talk about hero worship / delusional. So how do you rate our performance then? Let me guess 110% all thanks to Anelka? Na wa. |
Enough Already! On to football matters now shall we. Ibime, Stop your Drogba hating ![]() |
Akolawole:DD and JM are Ibime's problem (let's not forget his sidekick - Nat. . . ) ![]() I think a thorough investigation should uncover some sort of scandal. ![]() The world class coach offers attractive, free flowing footie . . . around the midfield area . . . sometimes ![]() |
Everyone on NL knows it is unwise to argue about language semantics and structure with the Prof. ![]() It takes a smart youth to know when the food on the table is meant for the elders. ![]() |
Who is Times quoting? Which reporter was around when Lampard was talking to the team? Na wa o. Meanwhile the talk does not in anyway refer to Drogba. Here is what he supposedly said about Drogba - Didier is a good personality and will take it in the right way. Hopefully he will come back like before because when he is at his best he is one of the best, if not the best, striker in the world. You always want those sort of people around. He may have been referring to Deco or Anelka. Who knows? |
Daily mail? Who said what? Who are they quoting? Abeggy . . . ![]() |
Dude, He started in 2 out of 3 games in my last post. In your "20 days ago" stats we've only played those matches in the EPL and he failed to score even if he started in 2 of them and had more than 60minutes to play in the last, so what are you saying? Face it, he was dropped when his form diminished. Now what of these games he started in like . . . Roma, Liverpool, ManU (@ home), Arsenal, Newcastle, Spurs. The guy cant stand tough teams. |
Deborsky Sharrap dia ![]() Ibime, I really don't want to get into this argument so I wont show the stats below - Chelsea 2 - 2 Fulham - Anelka comes on at the 30th minute but fails to score Chelsea 2 -0 West Brom = Anelka starts but fails to score Chelsea 0 - 0 Everton - Anelka starts but fails to score, hell he was terrible. Until yesterday Anelka had not scored for about a month - Goal Drought. ![]() |
Ibime, I'm not going to say Anelka has not only failed to score in every big game but became unavoidably absent in them. ![]() I'm not going to say Anelka was experiencing a drought before the so called "rude interruption" came along. ![]() I am not going to say you are undoubtedly the only one who saw Anelka do all those things in the game yesterday (well that's if Nateevs does not jump to your support) ![]() Just to avoid any arguments, I chose not to state any of the things outlined above. ![]() |
Beating Southend is no big deal but it was a good reaction after a terrible terrible week. We seem to be doing really bad at set pieces and that should be a worry for Scolari. We need to finish the season with our head up. I think we have the personalities to achieve that. I think we should minimize if not eradicate the Drogba harassment. He will be needed. Big ups to Anelka for scoring his 16th even in a game where he seemed unavoidably absent. |
Akola, As much as I do not want to get into another Drogba argument, you should know that the Gospel according to Nateevs and Ibime, Chelsea's problems are the fault of Drogba or Jm or both. Ibime Zola is in a class of his own. Those other players you named don't even come close. |
It is possible mathematically but it depends on ManU and Pool to slip up. Our five next matches seem like a walk in the park on paper except with Pool and Villa. The three first matches, I think, are at home and that is a worry knowing statistically, this season, we have performed better away than at home. |
So this is all about some dude calling you names online? Welcome to Nairaland. I've more at stake than that. |
tkb Thank you jare FBS I'm largely disappointed by your latest post. It exposes a shallow level of football knowledge. I can not even start to explain how ManU in theory (and perhaps history) have the advantage. Our play has declined, we have only 1/12 points playing with the big teams, we had our full squad yesterday whipped butt naked, we've been dropping points against both moderate and mediocre teams etc. Our Season is over if things remain this way. stop this heavy and biased criticism, can any of you do the job? haba, talking as if na them sabi football pass, laying theories upon theories,This is a very myopic and shocking view coming from a fan. Can Scolari do my job? If any of our 25 million subs fail to terminate calls as a result of my mistake I'd be in soup. Perhaps Scolari is one of our subscribers and has not been able to initiate calls for over a period of time, does he not have the right to question my competence. Can he do my job? He is getting paid to deliver and deliver he should do. So says my damn Chelsea Jerseys I've been buying with my hard earned money. So says all the fans who spend their money in buying season tickets, merchandise or engaging in online betting. This is no freaking charity so get that into your head or go play golf or something. |
Eastbay, RA wanted to see trophies from the first day he took over. This will obviously influence a manager's transfer request list. We need to change our acquisition philosophy and I think Kenyon is working towards that. However fans need to be patient with the players. |
tkb417 I can't agree more, While Ibime and Nateevs choose to be bias about the issue, it is clear this issue is much more than Drogba. The issue stems from management errors from the very sack of JM, a man whom they disliked because of his tactics to their finance policies. Our players were terrible yesterday and that is down to the tactics and LPS. LPS got it totally wrong . . . as usual. Players like Deco, Ballack, Anelka, Drogba, kalou, Bosingwa among others should be offloaded at the end of the season. Of course LPS should leave way before then. At the start of the campaign I criticized the buying of Deco and the appointment of Scolari . . . I think Nateevs and co can see sense in that now. We were totally humiliated at OT. No excuses, Grant would have done better with the same team . . . actually he did. |
another reason to sack scolari |
ManU are the better team. No more belief in our players. A lot of them need to leave at the end of the season. For once i'm with ibime, drogba has been crap though anelka has failed to affect. |
is there a law that says we cant take long shots? |
sack scolari |
What exactly are we tryimg to do? Win by possesion percentage? |
dayo Giggs attempted to cheat d ref. |
that would have been a fowl against ManU not a corner replay. Drogba should improve his game. Mikel's mistake caused that goal but i agree with ibime's comments. Scolari has some work to do |
Obviously you remain impervious to the fact that you will play the big fixtures all at home for the other part of the season thus aiding you at a time most important during the season. You concentration on just this season also shows your bias. Abeg free me jare . . . I don't do personal attacks no more ![]() |
