~Sauron~:Nateevs, you may want to read the above again. |
Who cares about little records? |
Nateevs, I agree our buys have been below average but that is still inexcusable. Are you trying to exonerate Scolari of all blames. Ok forget JM, even Grant kept our record with almost the same set of players. Scolari is uni-directional and timid when it comes to tactics. That is our problem. His technique has failed with Spurs, ManU, Pool, Newcastle and he still uses it again with Arsenal. We scored no goals today, doesn't that say something? Do you really believe in this guy? |
Lalaboi, We still have Spurs, Liverpool, ManU, and Arsenal at their homes. Do you seriously think we can take up to 3 points out of the 12? We're in a very bad position. If our woeful home perfomances against those teams don't convince you then try our away performance against Roma and Bourdeax or our home performance when we played Newcastle. I don't think we can continue our thrashing of small teams. Teams like Newcastle and Spurs are average teams we've had issues with. Stats don't look good at all. We need to wake up and do something drastic now. |
lalaboi:I think my logic is simple . . . somze: |
Mykali, Come off that no need to win big games shyte. Did ManU lose to 2 big teams at home? There's a total of 18 points against big teams, last season there was only 5 or so points behind the winner and runner up. |
Lalaboi, Ibime, Nateevs Notice our big games at home - ManU - Outplayed, Outclassed, Failed to win Liverpool - Outplayed, Outclassed, LOST Arsenal - Outplayed, Outclassed, LOST Do you guys think it will be a stroll in the park at Old Trafford, Anfield or Emirates? Common guys . . . Sack Scolari!!! |
ritchboy:If we fail to win against any of the other top 4 teams we would have lost a maximum of 18 points. We also failed to win against Spurs - so lets say we lose another 4 points totalling 22 points. We cant win against teams that go all out defense like Newcastle so the stats look more an more unfavorable. Those that think you do not need to get points against the big teams and these other teams to win the league are living in fantasies. The assertion is woefully wrong. |
lalaboi, JM will fail at Inter. His team is crap. Scolari has shown an obvious weakness against big teams. The same weakness he showed in the transfer market - When he's on the spot he fails to deliver. When we need to take a risk, to change tactics, to come out attacking he quivers and hides in a shell. That is not what we need at Chelsea. Even Grant was more courageous. Sexy football may work sometimes but not all the time. We don't even have the players to deliver that kind of football day in day out. Any serious manager should know this. JM knew it, Clarke too did. We have the mindset that the end justifies the means not the other way around. Take Scolari out and pray Inter terminates JM's contract after he fails to deliver the CL. |
nateevs:1. There are misses in every game. Not an excuse. 2. It happens but at the brigde this is also a terrible excuse to use. 3. Scolari woeful tactics exposes itself in big games . . . this is a better way to put it. 4. Cross to a striker if we had one . . . This leads us to Anelka the fluke. 5. Solution is sack Scolari |
lalaboi:We have the chance to right a terrible terrible wrong in the world of football. Sack Scolari and hope JM fails at Inter. Meanwhile, I think Refs are getting more and more woeful at decisions against Chelsea. Kalou was onside when he was adjudged as offside. Now Persie is way offside and he's favored by the Ref. Forget that Scolari is crap, I think the FA really has to revisit the issue of bad refereeing. Denilson should have been sent off for time wasting. |
lalaboi:A lot . . . What good did sacking JM do to the club? |
Ibime:Full season for what? That's the craziest thing I've ever heard. Act now before the January opening. Do you think players still believe in him? I look forward to a JM comeback. Ibime:I thought he was on loan? Anelka had only a shot on target and two in the last two games!!! What did he play? Give me Drogba anyday. Anelka is trash |
Nateevs, Well I am saying Deco should only be brought in when we play small teams. What we need now is to terminate Malouda's contract by mutual consent, Sell off Kalou, Chase off Anelka, pray for Bhoularouz and simply sack Scolari. Think of replacements later . . . we tried it against JM. |
ndumart:World Cup winning coach my foot . . . if this was Grant we would have murdered him. Why should we treat Scolari differently? He clearly has failed to deliver. His movement in the markets was an obvious pointer that he was unsuitable for the job. I won't even dignify your JM's accusation by replying that. And yes . . . It is a sad sad day for football. |
ritchboy:Top Scorer in the league has only managed 2 shots on target in the last too matches! What a fluke! I was comparing the losses to JM's era not Grant. Even under Grant we did not lose at home. So much for sexy football. Ibime:Always mixing two of you up because of your support for Anelka and Scolari - two obvious hypes. lalaboi:Oga we can not win the league with this team and this style. Face it Scolari only bullies small teams and can not deliver. We need to get rid of him. Too much excuses, too little delivery. |
Gosh man, Simple English abeg . . . |
Well at least we have Ibime back. Today is a sad, sad day for football. If we still had Clarke we wont have been in this mess. Clarke was probably the fire power behind Grant's reign. It would always be a difficult task to maintain JM's records. Meanwhile, Scolari's failure to bring in a Striker and a winger will cost us dearly like I predicted earlier. Also time has shown that Deco is too old to play in with big teams. Remember I brought up these things at the start of the season while you guys were off criticizing Lampard. Who's the better player now? We need Malouda, Kalou, Anelka, Deco OUT!!! Time for real footballers not misfit clowns. Sorry I forgot to add SCOLARI to that list. Please Sack that loser!!! |
I wont rub it in too much but now we can finally see that the so-called samba football offered by Scolari was a fluke. JM's invicibility was not just highlighted by his performance but the under-performance of all the managers after him. Face it, JM is the best thing that happened to us in 100 years and how did we repay him back? A sack! Ibime and Nateevs constant bickering and criticism or his style, players, achievements. I've seen JM's achievement distorted thousand of times here. I guess the past two season has shown how good a manager he was. I can't remember the last time we lost to Arsenal until today at the so called Bridge. Anelka is confirmed CRAP!!! Scolari is an illusion! I've said it before the season and I will say it again - We will win NO cups with the players and style we are currently playing. |
Debosky In Nateevs eyes Scolari and Anelka can do no wrong. |
Scolari does have a lot of things to prove after destroying a record even maintained by Grant. He has to deliver the EPL or the Champions League to justify his appointment. Our so called attractive display has failed to breakdown even average teams. I've started to think if all Scolari has is media support. Anelka too has a few things to prove after stats show he had only one shot on target. Once again he has failed to deliver in tight and direct games. He clearly can only be obvious when playing against promoted teams. We need direct pressure on defenses by tearing them open, creating openings, opening goal chances etc. Though we accept lucky deflections, and even mistakes from tight angles that end up in the back of the net, we need a real menace - A world class striker to be at the hem of affairs at the bridge. For now Drogba is that person. |
Just2nice If you say Anelka is not good . . .Always try to understand lines of argument before posting. Where did you get that from? Who said it? When was it said? How was it said? Wormedup Did Ronaldo score against teams like Roma, Chelsea and Spurs? Compare Ronaldo's effect on the team at the time, who was the better player? Give me a break jare. Drogba hit the bar in that game - a solo effort out of no where that could have won the match. Drogba also was visible in the game with ManU before that one. The one with Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs, Valencia etc. Anelka was woefully absent in ALL of the games I mentioned earlier. Niyooo hough i still think Anelka goes missing in some games where we need him but let's hope he'll be able to overcome that timidity and perform for us in the really big games. My point exactly! Apparently these folks don't believe any of the big games in the EPL or Cup will be needed to win anything this season. |
Nateevs, I don't hate Anelka. He has been fortunate this season and I'm grateful. Deflections and mistakes are allowed as far as they end up in the back of the net. The obvious and incontrovertible fact remains that he has been less fortunate when playing against stronger or more organised teams. Teams like ManU, Pool, Roma, Spurs. . . Teams that Drogba single-handedly delivered to us time and time again. No doubt Anelka has profited greatly from Drogba's injuries and the new system. He has even been able to deliver against minute teams. These are acceptable standards for any striker. These are not special feats. These do not make him better than others who have achieved more at Chelsea. He still has a long road to travel and perhaps this season may be his chance to right numerous wrongs in his career. Let's face facts as facts when it comes to Anelka and leave sentiments aside. |
Why this new thread? Anyway, Nateevs, Ibime . . . Was Anelka part of the starting line up that played with Roma, Man Utd and Liverpool? Did he play the full game? Why did we not see the goals? When will you guys just stop? |
Hey I dey Been a while o. No one is comparing JM. We've done with that era. We simply want Scolari to "shut up and drive" All the talk of attractive football is useless if we don't see an attractive trophy cabinet. |
Six months of injury is bad luck not a daily occurrence. I remember Robben was out for a few months. And Drogba did a couple of weeks too. Luckily only Robben was important at the time. Now we have a huge squad. We have reinforcements for each players so it's not too hard on Scolari. Nevertheless I do not expect us to lose as much as we have done in the past few weeks. Luckily none of them have been fatal except the carling cup loss. |
nateevs:We're not talking about expenditures are we? We can go there if you so prefer. And JM DID NOT Spend 250m over 2 seasons. Chelsea SPENT 250m over 3 seasons - Ranieri spent about half of that amount, JM used the other and delivered. Please put an end to these distortions and inaccuracies. nateevs:Nateevs, I'll give you a chance to distance yourself from your latest distortion. . . Are you saying JM had NO injuries during his first 2 seasons? This is completely laughable? Are you saying Terry, Lampard, Duff, Drogba, Ferreira, Robben, Cole where not injured in his first two seasons? |
Ibime:I'm unconcerned I'm not a fan. Are you satisfied with Russia? Ibime:Are you saying JM never had injuries? Oh please, stop distorting known facts. JM had injuries from day one and he got 2 EPLs to his name. Drogba was always injured in the season, so was Duff, Robben, Joe Cole, Terry, Both Keepers. We did not have a right back, left back but JM coped. He always delivered trophies. We were never humiliated (well except boro). Stop this your distortion. I can never have a sincere discussion of JM with you and Nateevs. Even Grant was better than JM in your eyes. How preposterous! Every Manager relies on key players. Your post is completely laughable. |
nateevs:Once in a while? You have got to be kidding me. We lost in the league, Champions league and Carling Cup in 3 weeks! |
Akolawole: www.nairaland.com/attachments/15235_chelseafootballb_jpg3982f23957134e434560f448bffdfc21Scolari has now lost twice at home in the space of a month and thrice in only 3 weeks. Hurray for attractive football. |
YEsssssssssssssssssss . . . YES WE CAN!!! Victory for Democracy!!! |
Arsenal has done it . . . |
