As much as I think Rafa is up to no good mind games, most of what he stated are clear facts that no one can dispute. There's a different officiating and treatment for Fergie and ManU and there appears to be a different one for the rest of the premiership. Through shady refereeing, questionable penalty decisions, favourable FA fixtures etc ManU have been continually aided to win more and more EPL titles. I think the only solution is for Fergie to resign. |
Nateevs, For once LPS is right, nothing short of a victory is acceptable. I think he's reputation and job is on the line now more than ever. He certainly has to deliver. Ibime, The links you gave do not prove that JM wanted a raise. All we can get from it is - he was offered a new contract and he accepted. We need a link where JM stated explicitly that he needed a new contract. All you have given here is third party hearsay. |
Ibime, I've lost track of the arguments abeg. So since all negotiations started during JM's period, he's to blame for the final agreement. Na wa. Akolawole:You dey mind am. If we fail to lift a trophy this season it will probably be JM's fault. I've started to think Ibime has a personal beef with the guy. Abeg quit blaming all our predicaments on JM, let's concentrate on Super Sunday. |
Ibime, Please keep your post to the barest minimum and go straight to point. You have no evidence pointing to when I or Nateevs joined Chelsea. I don't know how good a governance we had under Bates. We lost Gullit (I did not complain), then we lost Vialli (I was devastated) just because of a bad start. The replacement - Ranieri - failed to win any cup. I can't remember when last Chelsea was debt-free. You seem to live under the illusion that it was all rosy before RA. Dude, it took about 2 or more seasons for us to complete payments for Hasslebaink. We were never a wealthy, profit-making, out-of-debt club. Of course, JM is not the cause of our extravagance with money . . . but he did nothing to reign it in, like I know SAF and Wenger would do if they were in his position. Infact, he encouraged our extravagance. At least we agree on something. The other highlighted is open to debate. Anyway the funny part is you compared JM to the highest paid managers. So while SAF and Arsene get to be well paid, why should JM settle for less? What trophies did they have that he lacked? However, the reason for his new contract was to compensate him for the lack of support he received from the board during the Fritz fiasco. The fact is that JM is like a bitch who thinks RA is a sugardaddy. He didn't care how he spent his money. He pressured the board for money for wages, more money for transfers etc, every transfer window.Oh come on, which Manager does not ask for money for transfers? How much did SAF spend at the start of the season or the previous one? Name any club that does not spend to acquire players and I'll point you at their trophy cabinet. The other part of the quote is at best hearsay, I am not even going to dignify that by replying. |
Of course JM is to blame for our huge debt ![]() Vintage Ibime and Nateevs! I think I have shown beyond reasonable doubt that Ranieri the most wasteful manager we've had under Abramovich. Again I wonder if it was JM's job to approve the club's wage structure. Ibime and Nateevs will paint JM bad only to replace him with feather weights like Grant and LPS. Strangely, however, it's under LPS Lampard got his astronomical wage increase and Mikel also got a wonderful raise. Also players like Drogba and Terry hit massive new contracts under Grant. As usual Ibime and Nateevs are champions in distorting and falsifying to support their anti-JM sentiments. Spare me your blame game, we have a super sunday cruncher . . . will your LPS deliver? |
This is just so damn funny. ![]() The Gospel according to Nateevs - 1. JM and Drogba are to blame for Chelsea's poor performance for the past two seasons - Of course Grant and LPS share no blame in this matter. 2. Scolari was not afforded funds to buy players - Bosingwa, Deco were probably not bought by Scolari. Let me guess JM bought them. Failure to acquire Robinho was erm . . . JM's fault. 3. JM and Grant did not have things as bad as LPS - Replying to this will only dignify its inaccuracy. 4. JM bought old players - As opposed to LPS and Grant that got in young guns like Anelka and Deco. Face it man, LPS has fallen well short of expectations. What kind of team do you need to beat Burnsley or Southend (or whatever they are called)? |
Ibime, Your anger over Drogba is un-called for and your claims are exaggerated. When did it become a crime to state facts or discuss reality. Drogba is just stating facts. He's not the first player to be embroiled in a numerous transfer speculation is he? Ronaldo and Gerrard among other top EPL stars have been in this position. You're being too personal. He's game on the pitch will silence critics. Nateevs, What part of we do not have the money for new players is difficult to understand? Na you wan buy them? |
Oh well, Like I said . . . Sack Scolari |
It's sad. Once again i say - SACK SCOLARI!!! |
Whoops . . . Almost forgot . . . Merry Christmas folks Nateevs, Ibime, Akola, Cabali, Kitaun, FBS, A-40 Deborsky, wormedup, mukina, jackal, Cristalz, Can't remember a few names and so many new ones too . . . Have yourselves a Merry little Christmas ya'll. Peace!!! |
Ibime, FBS, Drogba uninterested!!! That shows you guys really did not watch the match. Drogba played as a lone striker and had to come back to do a lot of defending. Most times he had to be more of a defensive midfielder than an forward thanks to the red card. The game changed when he came on and we seemed more likely to pressurize. Drogba did not get the passes needed from the midfield. There was only a half chance I remember when he tried to chest a ball down but was bullied by Lescott. How come no one is talking about how woeful Anelka was? This team clearly lacks the technique, determination and strength to play with a man down. During JM's era we've had fantastic results even when we've gone a man down. We need some wingers though, seriously. Lampard is all that we need in the midfield, though in the game he made some crazy mistakes. Deco should settle to the bench. Ballack was average. Was that a red card . . . maybe. Was Ballack's yellow deserved . . . Hell NO! |
You're right, As much as I hate to admit it, perhaps LFP came around at the wrong time. With all the foreign investments in the EPL, smaller clubs suddenly have extended financial muscles to acquire players. This leads to increased pressure on the managers/teams by fans and management to deliver on the pitch. Hence so called "smaller clubs" have just grown stronger. This season may just be the rise of a new kind of premiership where it's anyone's game to win and not just for the ![]() It will certainly be a more interesting premiership for the fans of smaller clubs, filled stadiums, expensive live TV coverage, and yes, more money for the EPL/FA. |
I think as the day goes by Scolari's inadequacies have become more and more visible. I was always against the signing of Deco. He's lost the legs so cant be at his best through the season. Perhaps the gods want Pool to win this thing. |
E don do jare, lets concentrate on the next match. At least we have attacking options now. Any pre-match analysis / news ? |
FBS:To be fair, I think even Ibime and Nateevs agree with you here. Just in a different way. ![]() Thanks bro, FBS:Me too, though it looks very unlikely at the moment but when we have our full squad who knows? FBS:You're very correct, You wonder why no one talks about Ranieri or Grant but just JM? |
Ibime:I did not ask who quoted, I asked who fought. Remember ManCity and Robihno? That is what I mean. Holla back Ibime:I also heard Enyimba was preparing a bid too. Hell even I wanted him in my fantasy league. ![]() Ibime:And you know this personally because you live in the mind of every other human being on earth. Well done. ![]() Ibime:Oga, please kindly tell me who fought for his signature, no long thing ![]() Ibime:Gentleman's agreement my foot. Oga was Mikel Obi legally Chelsea's player or not? Kindly say yes or no and let me hammer you ![]() Ibime:Great Acquistions according to the gospel of Ibime. Noted! Ibime:Once again Ibime can see into the future . . . Ibime:The Gospel of Ibime continues . . . Ibime:I think SWP had the prospect but chose the wrong club. Ibime:This is inaccurate Terry was NOT acquired by Ranieri and blossomed on to the world stage ONLY under JM. I asked for the players that were signed and played under his regime. Is Bosingwa Grant's player? Na wa o. |
nateevs:One loss!!!! ![]() Come on man. Your obvious inaccuracies are reaching a whole new level. Which loss are you talking about? Liverpool, Arsenal, Burnsley or Roma? Which one? Nateevs, come on ![]() |
nateevs:One of the reasons why you should stay away from issues not directed at you is that you might miss the whole plot and venture into no man's land. Ibime clearly understands my reference to his virtual sister. He says his sister could have signed JM's great acquisitions if given the chance, so this was referring to that banter. nateevs:I am waiting. nateevs:He wanted to leave. nateevs:Same with Anelka who was more expensive by the way. nateevs:This is inaccurate John Terry can not be counted. Wayne Bridge is not part of our Starting 11. Cech never played for Ranieri. Name four players that were bought by Ranieri and played in his regime. nateevs:This is my issue with you. It is a different standard for JM and for everyone else. Ranieri spent over 120m and failed to win a cup but that is an achievement. JM spent less than that in all his reign and won all the cups in England and that is being wasteful. Ranieri's acquired players but could not deliver with them and he's a genius. JM acquired players + Ranieri's players = Delivery. . . and he owes his success to Ranieri Grant acquired players + JM players = Failure . . . JM bought useless players Scolari acquired players + JM players = things may go wrong . . . JM bought useless players. This is getting hilarious. nateevs:Do you have a calculator? Do not add any player that we claim was not signed by JM and lets see if it hits 100m nateevs:LMAO You and your bluntly inaccurate postings. Petit - Failed at Chelsea Zenden failed Gronkjaer was just there Gallas was great Brigde was great Cole was great Scott failed Glen failed Veron was a massive failure Cresspo is more like Kalou Makalele superb Mutu . . . drug addict and failed even in Ranieri's tenor Cech . . .great, never played under Ranieri Robben . . .great, never played under Ranieri and injury prone If you pardon me, I can use Ibime's argument and say his sister could as well have signed players like Makalele, Gallas and Robben who were all great players in their leagues. They simply did what were expected and were not great acquisitions. nateevs:This is really inaccurate. John Terry became his best under JM not Ranieri. Please reconsider. Stanic was already a matured player before Ranieri for crying out loud. Robert Huth? nateevs:IF you can sanction Anelka's buy then I see no reason why you can not approve beautiful players like Drogba and Essien. |
Ibime, Your post is full of baseless fabrications. Please no more long unsubstantiated post. Lets just go directly to fact and figures using outnumbered presentation. 1. Obi - I don't know where you and Nateevs got the Obi story from. Obi was never a Chelsea player. He simply trained with Chelsea. Please kindly support these absurd lies with facts or links. 2. Ballack - Who signed Ballack? Your sister? 3. Sinclair, Sahar, Diarra - If Arnesen signed those guys then he ought to have been fired way before JM. 4. Drogba, Cole, Essien, Carvalho - How come no one else was ready to fight for the signatures of these players if they were so easy to spot? 5. Ben Haim, Belletti, Pizarro, Del Hot, Kezman, Jarosik - Please calculate the combined amount of these your so called misses and get back to me. 6. SWP - Simple failed to blend. He's a good player and was in the English first 11. Some players simply do not blend at some clubs. I can give numerous examples. 7. Tiago is a miss? Oh come on 8. Malouda - He was forced to buy this guy, like every other acquisition he made in his last season. 9. Kalou and Ferreira are not misses, unless you care to prove otherwise. 10. Tinkerman has which four players in our current squad. Your inaccuracies have reached a whole new dimension. Please kindly name the FOUR 11. Ranieri was even more wasteful than JM. He spent in a year what JM spent through his term and achieved nothing. 12. Understand that there's a price for Chelsea and a different price for everyone else. Take Anelka for example. At 15m wont you have got a better striker? How come no one is criticizing Grant? Face it, you guys are simply anti-JM. JM has achieved more than any other manager in our history given the fact that the one before him spent much more than he did. You can't take away that fact - Our trophy cabinet has been empty since he left. Why not talk about achievement? Why not talk about statistics? Statistics that clearly show that Scolari has made the worst start in RA's era. How many times did JM lose to the top 4 opponents in the league? Twice in 4 years. That is outstanding!!! How many times has Scolari won against a top 4 - NONE!!! And all the games were played at SB. That is insane!!! Let's talk facts, no more fabrications, please. |
Okay Ibime, Let me once and for all display your distortions and flawed assumptions. Aug Juliano Belletti Barcelona £3.7m July Florent Malouda Lyon £13.5m June Tal Ben Haim Bolton Free June Claudio Pizarro Bayern Munich Free June Steve Sidwell Reading Free Expenditure = £17m for a top side this is noteworthy Aug Ashley Cole Arsenal £5m - Beautiful Acquisition at a Cheap price. Aug Khalid Boulahrouz Hamburg £7m - Not signed by JM June John Mikel Obi Lyn £16m - Cheated by Lyn, we are to get our money back according to Fifa. Great Acquisition May Ben Sahar Hapoel Tev Aviv £320,000 - Cheap player May Andrei Shevchenko AC Milan £30.8m - Not signed by JM May Salomon Kalou Feyenoord £8m - Cheap May Michael Ballack Bayern Munich Free - Great Acquisition For such great players like Cole, Obi and Ballack JM spent only £30m this season Aug Michael Essien Lyon £24.4m - Great Acquisition July Shaun Wright-Phillips Manchester City £21m - Failed to blend July Lassana Diarra Le Havre £1m - Cheap July Scott Sinclair Bristol Rovers £160,000 - Future prospect June Asier Del Horno Athletic Bilbao £8m - Timid player Jan Jiri Jarosik CSKA Moscow £4.83m - Cheap Player July Ricardo Carvalho Porto £19.85m - Great Acquisition July Didier Drogba Marseille £24m - Great Acquisition July Tiago Benfica £8m - Great Acquisition July Mateja Kezman PSV Eindhoven £5m - Cheap Player July Paulo Ferreira Porto £13.2m - Acceptable Acquisition July Arjen Robben PSV Eindhoven £12m Great Acquisition Total Cost of failed players - £39m for 4 players, SWP being English inflated his price to 21m Please show us how you arrived at your percentages. |
Every team has players that failed to live up to expectations. This is nothing new. Jarosik was not brought in by scouts. Smertin was by RA. Malouda was only brought in when JM was forced to let Robben leave. Failed buys were Kezman and Del Horno. Ferreira can not be described in full terms as a failed buy. So you see close scrutiny shows that things are not as bad as the media says. Ibime:And who stopped Scolari from buying players? JM has more than delivered on the players he got. Scolari himself claimed this team was adequate, so in that he has less of an excuse than JM had. The highlighted is absolutely laughable. What next will you say? JM never played a strong team? I'm laughing my butt off. |
Ibime, Please kindly clarify your statement concerning the millions JM spent that yielded nothing. Your views are totally flawed. Incontrovertible evidence shows JM bought players only in his first 2 seasons, these players delivered and most of them remain till date. Our solid defense (or what it was) is a testament to his acquisition. It is a known fact that in his third season he ceased to be apart of the player acquisition team as the politics unfolded. So much for Romantic Football . . . since you had your wish we have won nothing. We are not a club with as much history as Arsenal or ManU so when we don't win, we fail to make money. You stated earlier that Roman has lost half his wealth to the global recession, what do you think will happen if we continue to play your sort of footie and fail to win trophies? If we are willing to give other less impressive managers time to display their incompetence why not give JM time to win the CL. That was the only cup that eluded him in England. That being said, it's better to concentrate on the character in his place at the moment and see how far he delivers or fails to deliver. |
Sharrap dia ![]() |
You guys claim Drogba lacks first touch skill, what can you say about his touch before the goal. |
Any neat pass or flick is now accredited to Scolari? Don't be so gullible. FA Cup finals - neat pass from Mikel to Lampard to Drogba to goal. UEFA 2004 against Arsenal, neat counter attack led to goal by Bridge. And I can mention a lot others. |
nateevs:How influential was Drogba when Jose first won the league? Drogba was arguably his best when we failed to win the league so your argument is evidently flawed. Scolari has had the worst start of any Manager under Roman's era. A draw or loss today may have opened the door to his sack but Drogba prevented that. In a game where Anelka was missing and Scolari on the verge of an emotional breakdown, it took the hindsight and accuracy of Drogba to save the day. |
nateevs:For you anything Scolari does is acceptable . . . Roman however has less patience. |
Great come back by Drogba . . . He probably saved Scolari's job. |
Didier the invincible Drogba . . . |
Cluj is by far the better team. It's nice to see Kalou hitting the back of the net. I still want him out though. |
You'd think they were at home |
Nothing less than a victory is expected in this match, even for the worst manager in Roman's era. |
