AustineE1:Everyone must not insult the president before you embrace them. Statements that come from organisations like Ohaneze aren't the same with some people catching cruise here and calling the old man unprintable names. This statement came from Ohaneze Youth Wing, and it is very legit. |
Without fear of contradiction, I can proudly say that democracy hasn't worked in Nigeria. Unfortunately, there's no better alternative! |
NinjaMetahuman:Americans say that opinions are like assholes; everyone is entitled to one! |
kokoA:I don't share my thoughts to please anyone; I speak up! BTW, you are drawing two different analogies. At least governors live in their states. You need to live within your domain to understand what your people feel and go through every day. You cannot be an LGA chairman and live in the state capital, no! The only way LGA autonomy will work is for LGA chairmen to live in their domains and must send monthly reports of what they did with their allocations to the EFCC. I know it won't make any sense to you because you people emotionally encourage leadership rascality. |
stonemasonn:Is it just the meagre $35 billion that you want to diversify? Even China has most of its foreign reserves in US bonds. Nigeria just needs to invest in production enablers, scale agriculture investment and oil/gas production and export, support SMEs (not one yeye minister giving businesses 50k), and improve security and ease of doing business stats. When you have grown your wealth, lifted poor people out of poverty, started exporting more and importing less and reduced the craze among young people to leave their own country in search of opportunities, then you can increase your foreign reserves to over $100 billion and diversify it - probably investing 50% in Yuan and gold. |
LGAs don't deserve any autonomy in Nigeria. You want to grant autonomy to LGA chairmen who don't even live in their domain? Imagine a state governor living in his FCT liaison office. Very funny. Those LGA chairmen are even worse than governors; they just don't have that privilege yet. All parts of states fall into an LGA and governors should directly address issues that matter to them. What I would rather appeal is that governors should conduct transparent LGA elections and allow the wishes of the people to reflect on the ballot. Alternatively, enact a law that compels all LGA chairmen to live in the domain they man or be impeached. |
Hope Uzodinma is behaving as though someone threatened him to start working now or he will be ruthlessly dealt with. He had four years to do most of these things he's doing now but had nothing significant to his name. In Nigeria, governors use second tenures to complete projects they initiated in their first tenures. I am not a prophet of doom, but I see Hope Uzodinma abandoning many projects like his predecessors. |
Given the high inflation in this country now, I bet what keeps legit hustlers sane and hopeful now is RELIGION. If not, kidnaps across all the regions would've quadrupled by now. |
Senators and HoR members from the South East should come together and sponsor a bill that will enable the region to set aside 30th May as a day we commemorate the killing of millions of Igbos during the Biafran war. There's nothing wrong with that. Being a Nigerian doesn't mean losing one's own identity or pretending that you didn't suffer irreparable physical, emotional and psychological damage during the civil war. Many of us still carry that deep hurt today. |
Jostoman:Here's the perfect description... |
Integrafamoo:Nigerians must understand that their social media posts come with responsibility. You cannot go on social media saying that a product can kill people and refuse to take down your post after several appeals to do that. Comments have consequences; the lady was busy catching cruise. If you cannot create a job in a country where government doesn't support businesses, don't use your stupidity to destroy existing ones. I hope she and people like her learn their lessons. |
People who still praise this man at this point are the biggest problems of this country... |
Apart from Nigérians being forgetful, that guy na idiot. |
These APC people don't even have regards for Nigerians. How can this man claim the economy is growing? Who cursed Nigeria with this set of leaders? |
Mjshexy:They put that nonsense in a tin and call it tin tomatoes but it's mostly starch, not tomatoes. |
Celebrities should start going back to wife the good girls they dated before fame and fortune came. That's the girl who genuinely loves you and someone you know and trust. Unfortunately, they leave those ladies when they start making money and end up with strangers who only care about them because of their money. This comes with a weighty implication. |
beerfraud:Keep writing NONSENSE. The South East has every right to remember its dead and Nigeria must find a way to incorporate that into its consciousness. SE governors should stop this cowardice and speak up. |
NDDC has enough money to transform the Niger Delta states. Unfortunately, wrong people have been sharing their money for years now. |
You will never know how worthless Naira has become until you go to the market. It's scary. A small restaurant where I would use #500 to eat a decent meal now sells their food for #2k and I don't even blame them 🤔🤔 |
kedeojo:Imagine an ignoramus calling an Okonjo-Iweala a failure. I no blame you; data is cheap. FYI, Okonjo-Iweala never became WTO Director General until Trump was kicked out. For not knowing that basic fact, you have lost the right to be taken seriously. |
When you see how these thieves inflict harm on people, you begin to understand why mobs lynch them without thinking twice. |
Akinwunmi Adeshina is a blessing to this country. So this is what other countries that produced the heads of AFDB have been enjoying all this while? 🙆🙆🙆 Heads of AfreximBank and World Trade Organisation should do the same thing. Nigerians run those organisations and they should be bringing the gains home. Oops! I remember hearing Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala say that WTO doesn't have money to throw around and I wonder why Donald Trump was busy blocking her from being announced the head of the organisation. |
ObiaboAdoka:Thank you for the correction. |
It's even a shame that politicians can use you against your own nephew, SLS, and you fell for it because of power, money and influence. Politicians should stop denigrating our traditional institutions. |
Who wrote this article? What's the connection between one Kenechukwu Okeke taking a bunch of people to court with Pastor Sam Adeyemi choosing to stay in the US? The truth of the matter is, many people who have what it takes to be established and thrive in saner countries wouldn't like to remain in Nigeria; just reading news about Nigeria can even piss you off! |
CaptainFM1:In Matthew 7:1, the Bible advises Christians not to judge anyone. Let God be the judge of our deeds on earth. |
They need to start bringing back their money to invest in Nigeria. Nigeria and Nigérians need help. This country is about to collapse right before us. Tinubu and his bunch of clueless kitchen cabinet members have destroyed this country's economy. |
I'll always remember this man for recovering looted money and relooting the money to the point that his own office declared him wanted and he had to escape from Nigeria. RIP to him. |
Living abroad comes with its own challenges. If these people tell you what they go through in the hands of their white employers, you just pity them. Some of them are still overseas because they don't have a country anymore. The day we have a sensible president like Peter Obi in power, it will look as if a blew a whistle for Nigerians in diaspora to start coming back to their country. That's why they are using their hard-earned money to finance Peter Obi's campaign. |
Politicians need to put these soldiers in their place before they take over this country with their janj.aweed leadership style. Who gave soldiers the constitutional rights to shut down that plaza? The military is gradually taking the place of the police in this country. Allow the police to investigate who attacked your officers and deal with them according to provisions of the law. |
MP3GAGAdotCOM:Don't tribalize everything. That lady is trying to save her face. No man can accuse his wife of having kids with another man if he didn't do their DNA test. |
