y not just comment on what u know and stay mute on others.

Many nigerian Drs and cosultant are working in Saudi and UAE earning good money and its tax free.

its just that most jobs are contract, so after a while, they either come back to naija n invest or they move to the west.
google it, u will fine out thausand of Drs and other health professionals from Europe, USA and other parts of the world working in UAE, saudi ....

For Med Drs n other health professionals who want to work in d UAE, u need a UAE sponsor to help u take licensing exam. U can also travel to UAE and take the exams b4 looking 4 job but it will cost will cost more.
Also, u can take the exam outside UAE thrugh their partner pomotric centers just google well. b4 the lost of nairaland data, we had some info about that from a nigerian Dr, who passed through the process. oga... posted it here. that guy oga.... actually had so much info but.....

Best way to go is to start sending applications from nigeria, u may be lucky to get an organisation that will contact u and sponsor u.
tnks a lot for taking time out to reply me in such a detailed manner.but trust me have been doing a lot of research online and it will really b of help if I get more info frm somebody over there who is knowledgeable in d subject matter or practising.also d oga post have been deleted I think cos d only time anybody made mention of similar interest was by a nurse and physiotherapist and d answers were non-committal..plz if u can throw more light on wat u mean by"I will need a UAE sponsor"for d exam, will really appreciate.tnks

There are 4 different licensing bodies in the UAE: DHA (for Dubai), HAAD (for Abu Dhabi and Al Ain), MOH (for the other emirates) and one given by Dubai Health Care City which is a Free zone entity. They all have different requirements and procedures for licensing.

Previously if you had a license from one, you could only practice in the jurisdiction governed by that body, but recently they have been unified. So, even if you have a DHA license you can still practice in Abu Dhabi (subject to meeting some conditions).

Do a search on google for more info on each of them.
tnks a lot mochocho for your kind reply,I went on google but didn't quite get much because d response there was quite vague with regards to foreign trained medical doctors.will still keep researching though and I will appreciate more info from u or other forumites who are knowledgeable about d subject matter

@ sonafagod, research on medical board of trinidad and Tobago, get their website on Google and peruse it,you will get exactly what you want.but if its so complex to you,i will help the much i can.but for now, trinidad and tobago is hard to pass the port of entry because of this ebola virus. They are even planinng to stop their 2015 carnival which the whole world normally attend because of this OGA EBOLA.so gather information first and less wait till January 2015 and see how things will go.for doctors job in other carribean country is not so lucrative like trinidad and tobago, bahamas, suriname and Guadalupe and martinique with Grenada. The only I could enquire about is Suriname because my friend is very close to the wife of ambassador of Suriname to trinidad and tobago, but it will take a little time because Im very busy every day even on sundays.if you come here you will value time so much, because this part of the world, time is money cheesy.research on that medical council and I will get back to you on Suriname.
thank u so much frank,I do understand that ebola virus has caused certain limitations, will research into medical board of T and T while also awaiting d outcome of your enquiries into others for me as you stated.thanks once again on your desire to help, hoping to hear from you soon!

phantom:

let it go to the dogs!! I resisted travelling out a decade ago when I qualified and I regret it now.
my friends urged me to come over to T&T after all I had my MBBS from a recognised institution in Nigeria therefore I didn't need to write their licensing exams.
I just needed to pay the $3500 bond, and of I went.
5000-6000 US dollars per month tax free is decent income scalable to 7-8thousand dollars working extra jobs.
thinking back now, I should have gone. would probably be in the US now, qualifying as an "attending".

the path I took was a mistake!
hello phantom, your piece really got me interested.have always had it in mind to travel to d carribean for medical job opportunities.unfortunately am not a graduate from one of d four recognised univ in nigeria(ibadan, enugu, lagos and benin)for T and T jobs, plz are there other opportunities I can explor and d process it will taketnks for ur anticipated cooperation,

Babyblues:

It's never too late.My hubby was about to do his Part 1 when I encouraged him to up and leave.Theres no insult I didn't receive, they discouraged him and said all sorts.this was 5 years ago. He's now in his final year of residency training in the uk and when he's done,we may move to Canada or Australia. My hubby's almost 40.
It wasn't an easy transition at all,in the beginning we cried, suffered but once he got on his feet,it's been forward ever.UK is not perfect but at least we have peace of mind.
My sister is doing her step 3 in the US,me I've passed my plab 1 and 2.Time waits for no man.Thank God for my parents who insisted on us leaving Naija.
Good luck to the brave doctors though.
Cheers!
hello, plz can u advive a fellow doctor on d right path to take in terms of residency programm in UK or working as a doctor outside of africa.plz ur kind response asap will b greatly appreciated....
