Well, Currently CU is accepting more of its own graduates as lecturers. But quite a number of CU's lecturers did not study in Nigeria even though they are Nigerians. For example my supervisor was from Vancouver uni(PhD), North park or something for MSc and OAU as (BSc)
Have you seen the CVs of professors and doctors from public uni? Most of them did their masters or PhD abroad.... Tell me something else.

As someone that finished from a top federal university I can boldly say practicals carried out there are the basic secondary school types. If funding is the problem that's a topic for another day. But at least you realise there is a problem which CU don't have.

Yes lecturers are sourced from everywhere including federal universities and they give their best more in the private university. Is this not an indication that the federal universities have a bad system?
Yes, we are COMPLAINING about our system because only a few of our public universities managed to be among Africa's finest. Yet your type are REJOICING AND MASTURBΠTING that they have been accorded with the same reputation.

At bolded that's the problem. Nobody cares what kind of graduates they're churning out but it's to shout 2000 professors in my faculty up and down. Doesn't make sense at all.

Which is better to you? Practical based or theory based mode of learning?
Yet it still from these unis that you lobby for "2000 professors" to lecture in your beloved CU.....SMH

I should be asking you the question. The theory and practical training are there in the public uni, its just that the funding for consistence are inadequate. Yet they still manage to produce graduates who can compete ANYWHERE, ANYTIME, ANYDAY....not your "daddy-mommy" school.

Talking about comparison of research output; did you read the post at all?? or you just feel like displaying your ignorance.
Whatever the OP posted was simply a LONG but SHALLOW info with the intent of self masturbπtion and glorification.

Public Unis have been here and even gone farther....I won't dignify this shallow compilation with e.g UI's long history of quality research come rain come shine...it has always been rainy for these public uni yet they manage to PRODUCE some of the worlds best alumni and also, some of the most cited researches in academia.

You are just like the op's compilation - long but shallow.

Well the point is that these federal universities have been on a steady decline over the years. I remember my lecturer then using a note he prepared years ago to lecture us. smh
Steady decline is a relative term, you don't generalize. Its just like me saying that ALL private uni are glorified secondary 'ajebo' schools.

Your lecturer may have felt the need to revisit those notes. It doesn't in anyway downplay his professorship.

Its just a matter of time....let's see how long CU will remain 'in form' for competitiveness.

Lol we are now competing with Witwatersrand and Stellenbosch you are still talking about ui and oau.
Lol....na so....and the unis you mentioned are not competing with foreign ones abi?....pls...ui and co have enjoyed high reputation and ranking before CU was conceived. They are still consolidating on those achievements to attain better accomplishments.

UI, OAU, UNN, UNILAG and ABU naterials are not your mate in academic excellence, entrepreneurship, innovation, and employability. Look for private unis to intimidate.
EducationRe: 10 Reasons Why Federal Universities Are No Match To Covenant University (PROOFS) by SonOfEl(m): 8:07am On Feb 23, 2017
Come rain, come shine, CU can never be better than UI, OAU, UNN, UNILAG and ABU, (and even UNIBEN, UNICAL). Yes, CU has a more favorable learning environment, i sincerely agree, but the output and quality of both its research and alumni does not match that of the federal schools mentioned.

While checking the research of CU, you should have checked that of the other universities (e.g UI for instance) to compare their research quality and output.

Which one is controversial? You said the report debunked or you do not understand the term you used? The report did not debunk but supported Emir Sanusi.

A former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Lamido Sanusi, has reacted to the recent audit report by PricewaterhouseCoopers on the alleged missing $20 billion oil money, saying the report has confirmed in the first instance that at least $18.5 billion was indeed missing.

PwC's audit report supports many of Sanusi's allegations. The auditors found that the total gross revenues generated from the federal government of Nigeria crude oil liftings was $69.34bn from January 2012 to July 2013.

The total cash remitted into the government's accounts in relation to crude oil lifting was $50.81bn, leaving $18.53bn unaccounted for.

The report raised serious questions about the level of transparency and corporate structure of the national oil company.

If the governors went to court to share the Excess Crude Account,

Were they also responsible for the missing $20 billion,

Were the governors also responsible for the depletion of the external reserves?

Were the governors also responsible for the sharing of the ARMS DEAL money by Dasuki?

Politics should not take your senses away.
If you don't know the real story behind dasukis arrest just ask and stop embarrassing yourself. Why has buhari not arrested babachir his SGF?

Pricewater coopers, a foreign auditing firm has since debunked that 20b dollars accusation, and Jonathan did not mastermind any theft whatever. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Dear TonyeBarcanista,

If this is all you could write, you are a COLOSSAL disgrace to the entire Nigerian youths, you are also a great INDICTMENT to the TENETS of GOOD GOVERNANCE,

So you don't know that there is a difference between ECONOMIC GROWTH & ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT?

With all the data that you claimed was achieved under GEJ, did it make YOUR life better under your hero of corruption?

Despite the having the biggest rebased economy, how is our quality of life better than that of South African under GEJ?

Has it made Nigeria developed than South Africa, Ethiopia or Rwanda?

You did not explain how $47 billion reduced to $30 billion with oil at an average of $100bpd but you could blame the governors for the ECA?

You did not mention how Sanusi was booted out of CBN for blowing whistle on the missing $20 billion under GEJ

You did not talk about our ARMS MONEY were shared by Dasuki for politicians under the direction of GEJ

You also forgot the BLOODIEST RECRUITMENT conducted in the history of Nigeria by by Abba Moro whom GEJ refused to sack

You did not mention how Nigeria was disgraced by South Africa with the over $15 million found in Oritsejafor's private jet

You failed to tell us why Okonjo Iweala was borrowing to pay workers salaries despite the oil boom,

You did not tell us what happened with Stella Oduah's BMW

Or have you for gotten the Andrew Yakubu's loot?

What about the $15 million MEDICAL FEES of PEJ?

You failed to mention how Tompolo had 13 billion naira in his account?

What about Obanikoro's confession that GEJ ordered him to ferry over 4 billion naira to Fayose?

So, all these did not put Nigeria in a sorry state?

Every time I read your article, I'd always thought you meant well for Nigeria not knowing you can't be a good Councillor let alone a President

NAIRALAND IS FILLED WITH HATERS. Ezeigbo went to China, met a phone manufacturing company about a phone he designed, for them to partner with him and manufacture the phone. They kept improving the phone as the market kept expanding. Now some haters feels it just cant be possible for a retailer who studied engineering and attended business school to design the first TECNO phone - T101. Bad belle people should go and hang themselves abeg. That one doesn't change the legacy of NNAMDI EZEIGBO.
