TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN.
pls stop mentioning SS as if there are no indigenous IGBOS there. when you talk about IGBOS, stop limiting us to the SE alone. simple. is that too hard for you '' SS advocates" to understand? |

ibedun: Look o I know ya place very well. I was in Awka, Asaba and Onitcha not too long ago. I took pic on the creaking Niger Bridge and under Ojukwu's sculpture just after the bridge and the almighty Onitcha Market.
One thing is for sure, in comparison to the North and West there are no cities in Igboland just towns.
Igbos are usually indomitable when they interact with calm people. None has even won an argument or get the better of me in any area of life cause I am alway ready to out-stubborn them. And believe me they back off in the end.
The thing is Igbos are too quick to celebrate when they win a battle forgetting that the war is yet to be won.
I dont hate but I react. beneath your response conceals your jealousy..... the reason why you can go this far in commenting is because my brother whom you are responding to did not explain the perspective of what "civilized" meant in the slavery era |

Ramnon2: Civilization here meant organized towns. But despite that see how he described Igbos (indomitable) versus Yoruba (barbarous)
Today, Igbos have organized cities but Yorubas still remain barbarous on the contrary sir, the perspective then meant having a centralised form of government. IGBOS had organised settlements like awka (oka), umuleri, aba, onicha, arochukwu, igweocha, etc. in fact , the longest kingdom in Nigeria was the aro confederacy which ended in 1902. if the author meant your submission, then it means the author too was ignorant and uninformed. |

ibedun: I pick out the following though obviously tainted with racism but nevertheless obvious today
Yoruba, Nupe, Hausa = almost fully civilised in towns and kingdoms with authority or governance structure
Eboes = Half civilised villagers. No city just shady villages with no apparent authority.
The writer could have predicted the first coup, the civil war and the massively vanquished half civilised Biafran villagers.
I'm out. by your definition and line of thought, it means the developed world today is half civilized. keep your biase, jealousy and envy will not allow you read the entire page in its right context. |
Politics › Re: Hahaha! See What A Colonial Oyibo Writer Said About ''Eboes'' (Igbo) by SonOfEl(m): 1:03pm On Aug 20, 2015 |
The "half civilized" phrase about the IGBOS meant that unlike the yorubas, Nupes, etc, the Igbo did not have many centralized forms of government. IGBOS were decentralized, often leaning to villages, clans, loose kingdoms or such like.
this remark by the author was chiefly because kingdoms and empires were highly centralized in the western world. although today, it is no more so. |

the racist's soul is either in heaven or hell. that's by the way. like Jews, there is an account of our slavery, and even in that, our most conspicous traits and attributes are seen and acknowledged.
IGBOS, even in slavery, have an indomitable spirit. |

huangcheng: Even we Igbos run away from the SE when it comes to business competition. The competition in the SE is so fierce that even the Oga you learnt trade from will be your fiercest competitor. In the SE there is no sleeping on a bicycle, you better hit the ground running else you'll be at upper iweka within 6 months running Oso ahia.
If you think you can beat the competition by importing cheap goods from China, someone will set up a factory in the east and start producing what you're importing at a cheaper price. Your Oga don't know why other tribes even foreign companies cannot compete in the SE. No try our Igbo brothers oo on point......you are correct. |

OrlandoOwoh: Liar! Those ethnic groups, the minority in the defunct Eastern Region supported Yakubu Gowon before, during and after the Civil War. Ibibio, Anang and Efik got a new state, South Eastern State. Ikwerre, Ogoni, Kalabari and Okrika got Rivers State. The leaders of these minority groups who fought for state creation right from the time of the Willink Commission, were hunted and detained by Ojukwu during the war. Elechi Amadi and Nwanodi, both Ikwerre, were some of them. After the liberation of Port Harcourt, the highlife legend, Rex Lawson, a Kalabari man changed the name of his band to Rivers Men Band, to show his support for the 12 states structure of the federation. He went ahead to record his hit song, "Gowon Special." you only believe what you want to hear. the foreign observers knew better. so keep your history to yourself. |

laudate: Point out the post in this thread where I supported the Yoruba in antagonising the Igbo. You are the one not making sense, because you do not see the Igbo who are always quick to unleash a vitriol of hate against anyone with a different viewpoint.
For example, a person says something like: "the South-South will not support Biafra....". Instead of your folks to educate such a person on the fact that, "different groups make up the SS, and the SS Igbo's support is what matters," ... they jump down the person's throat, insult and vilify him, his clan, his ethnic group and family with the most disgusting, vile epithets you can think of.
Maka, why??
Is that the way to build support for your cause?? am not surprised that you keep denying that you're unaware and not a part of yorubas Igbo bashing in NL. and stop dividing IGBOS with SE/SS geopolitics. |

Your own people appear to be the ones that can't sleep, because of these ubiquitous Yoruba people. Every where you turn...it is 'Yoruba this'...or Yoruba, that...?? Is this group the only one in Nigeria?/
Other ethnic groups who are neither Yoruba nor Igbo, have had their ears filled to the brim with all the brick bats and hate missiles, you guys throw at each other. You all need to grow up honestly!
The only hypocrisy here, is from your Igbo group that persists in blaming everybody else from other ethnic groups for their own woes! And they delight in using foul, putrid language to address simple issues, as if they were not schooled in the rudiments of basic good manners. Haba! and it is your ngbatis that use graceful and respectful words in addressing simple issues abi......? keep deceiving your soul. go and talk to your ngbatis first e.g after1, totit, etc, before facing IGBOS. we have decided to reply the Igbo bashing going on in NL since. |

dearpreye: Love is truth. Love is honesty. Anyone who's designed a system in the disfavour of my people and unborn generations is OUR enemy.
I'm a realist. I don't believe in sacrificing truth to appear patriotic, for truth is the highers show of patriotism.
My anger is directed to MY own people, who have consoled themselves with peanuts and crumbs while their fortunes and future are being systematically eroded away.
Our case seems the worst!
The North has ensured the prosperity of its own by creating a lopsided unitary system using the barrels of the gun.
The SW, owing to the vision and foresight of Late Awolowo, had so embraced education and knowledge. They have ALL it takes to be prosperous and developed.
The SE .....What a people! Where do I start from? Industrious. Enterprising. Resilient. Prosperous. They hardly need OUR OYEL!
My region,SS...SMH! Content with crumbs for the day. SMH! I weep as they few rich folks amongst us pride ourselves in driving expensive cars....fake lives! Unconcerned about their tomorrow. ....SMH! be strong my brother. I believe there are many more that shares your views and vision. |
