Raskimonojendor:

You obviously did not watch the video. This post did not even talk about 1/10 of the abuses. Luckily the daughter was not sexually abused, just plenty flogging, hitting, slapping, imprisonment, torture, group beatings e.t.c from Joshua and alot of his people, but there was no mercy on the pants dropping of the so called female disciples..Go and watch the video. I have watched episode 1 to 3.

Yes I am yet to watch the documentary. The headlines and content of the article shouldn't be misleading because there's a possibility fictitious video somewhere else.

Many similar false information has caused lots of trouble in past times. Besides, social media is not the place for justice, it may only assist you in getting it and in this case, there's little evidence to show that most of them sought out justice.

Religion / Re: Who Is That Popular Man Of God That You Trust Most In Nigeria? by sonofthunder: 8:18pm On Jan 08
Hotfrom9ja:
Religion in Nigeria stands as one of the most prominent industries, generating millions of dollars annually.

Despite its sacred nature, controversies have surrounded Nigerian pastors, reverends, and evangelists over the years.

Recently, a highly respected Nigerian religious figure was exposed in a shocking video by the BBC, leaving many of his followers dismayed and disbelieving. See HERE

While some pastors have faced accusations from women for engaging in unscrupulous activities, the church continues to flourish and gain strength.

The circulation video somehow made it look like any man of God can be exposed in Nigeria. Do you believe that?

If not, Then tell us

I won't be the one to educate you on sexuality if that was what you were expecting. I hardly educate people these days, the internet is there it would help. Go on learn about it.

It's simple. You can't offer what you don't have

grin cheesy grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin
Family / Re: My Younger Brother Is Gay by sonofthunder: 5:32pm On Jan 05
rickleye:

Let’s be realistic- they exist. Even as far back as 1999 when I was an undergrad at Unilag . A certain someone thought I was symPathetic when I defended him. Didn’t really understand what he was saying then but later realized.
A friend of mine who was effiminate drown in a pool all of a sudden.
You can say what it wants but most of the issue starts with the breakage of the family unit . The man runs away after 3 kids and leaving the mum to handle the family. The boy with no role model does the same things his sister does. The girls grow up seeking men love for sex.

Your point is not valid brother. Any gay or lesbian in the world needs rehabilitation not re-enablement. And that's what you offer. Do you applaud thieves and rapist or push for a correction of poor behaviour?

Also you guys keep coming up with this nonsense talk of men abandoning homes. While this usually happens. Have you asked yourself why it happens that lesbian couples always abandon relationships more than male gay couples? Also in straight relationships, women initiate 70-80% of divorces.

We should stop taking issues for what they offer at the surface level.

Okay, hold on. The girl's comment is ignorant, yeah and the same can be said for yours.

Educate yourself on sexuality, it's obvious you know nothing about it.

You've just said nothing. Fellow ignorant one.

Very typical to claim knowledge but offer nothing tangible.
Family / Re: Why Do People See Calm and gentle People As Pastors? by sonofthunder: 5:18pm On Jan 05
Sonnobax15:
cheesy

Good evening my fellow Nairalanders and compliments of the season....

So I recently moved into a new neighborhood last December, and I must really confess that this environment is so so cool, like everyone's living peacefully and amicably with one another..... Personally, I'm the calm kind of a guy.....An introvert,to the extent that if I'm not on the road via hustling, then I must be definitely be indoors, doing my stuffs online....

Now,the problem here is that my new neighbors have been secretly referring to me as a pastor due to my kind of lifestyle cheesy. What really baffled me was yesterday when a man whom I usually take to the park every Wednesday morning asked me if I've any affiliation with any Church........I said NO but I was really curious to know what was the reason behind that question...It was then he told me that it was my neighbor who's living in the flat close to my apartment was the one who told him I'm a pastor.

So,I just want to know,if anyone has ever had a similar experience in the past......That the moment people notice you're a calm and gentle person, they immediately tag you as a pastor or a religious personnel? Even without asking you first? cheesy

There are several reasons for this. One of the most annoying one is because many people are hypocrites. They need someone to crucify and/or help justify their wrong.

The day you commit a small crime that they are serially guilty of, your story go spread like wildfire during Harmattan.

I always beware of such people and sometimes even give them equivalent names also.

I recall when I was a kid about 6 years old. I begged my mum to paint my nails. I was happy when we got a public park and my dad noticed it. He was furious and scrubbed them off then and there .
19 years is too late but not impossible. He could be effiminate ( a dude that just likes cross dressing ) but has no desire to be an alphabet.
But if he is gay - then send him abroad or he would die in Naija . See what they did to an Uganda activist on his way to work.
As Christians we should love and pray as painful as it is. As parents we ought to have stopped the trend at the formative age.
There is really nothing you can do than sit down and have a lengthy conversation. Threatening will not work as he could be led to commit suicide . Excommunicating will yield the same.

My 2 cents

He's not gay, nobody is gay. Most so called Gays are hypocrites and beta simps. The rest were conditioned by their environment.

It's not just the comment that's ignorant and immature. At least, 22 people have clicked like. The OP and parents especially didn't do anything to correct the poor behaviour in their child, now he's claiming he was born that way.

Stop speaking ignorantly. We don't have enough universities and the already existing ones are serially overcrowded save maybe the private universities.

Don't just open your mouth to condemn everything. Nigerians are school in Cameroon, Benin, Ghana and other uni's.

Investment / Will Naira Crash Further Against Usd? by sonofthunder: 4:38pm On Jan 04
Hello investment gurus, from a neutral stand point, is it likely that the naira will fall further against the US Dollar? And will it be significant?

If someone wants to temporarily save some of his money in dollars, is it worth it to insure the value of that money or many of the anticipated policies to protect the dollar from gaining will have little effect.

Please advise.
Career / Re: Is 400k Job In Nigeria Worth Staying Or Should I Japa? by sonofthunder: 11:46am On Jan 03
Elsucre24:
I will be 31 this year. Omo the age is scaring me and I keep feeling like I’m not doing enough. I have a stable job in the private sector with a 400k monthly salary. But I still feel the impact of the economy badly. I keep asking myself, at what point will I start living the good live?
I feel stock sometimes because my job is very demanding and I almost do not have time to do other things, mind you I’m in the medical field and I work Mondays to Sundays most times but occasionally I have some Sundays to myself and sometimes a day off during the week. I can’t seem to be able to start a business as a side hustle cause most of the side hustles I can think will demand my presence at least for the first few months and I don’t really have that.
My girlfriend is pregnant, I really wanna keep it but she’s not ready, I’m not even sure I’m ready. The only way she can keep it is if I’m going to get married to her before the pregnancy starts showing and I’m as confused as hell cos I don’t know if I’m ready. She has always been vocal of her plans to japa.
Now that brings me to the idea of Japa too. I mean, I cannot deny that fact that I’m scared of the whole japa stuff cos I don’t know what to expect. Economy doesn’t even allow you save as much as you should. Everything’s just seems very scattered.

Pls I need adult minds to advise me on what I can do.
1. Do I start a business, what kinda business can I start with at least 2M that will not require my full presence?
2. Do I start to plan my japa through the study route and just face my fears
3. Should I insist on keeping the pregnancy and hope that things start making sense? This means I have to get married tho.

Thank y’all.

If you have good opportunity to travel legally, please take it. You seem like a professional. You won't struggle more than one or two years to settle. You'll have much better opportunities in most nations abroad.

Just ensure you plan well or if you trust your girlfriend enough, marry her and make her primary applicant.

I don't support abortion bro.

So, there's a man who wants me to be his wife. Honestly, he possesses the qualities of a good husband, but I can't deny that I don't find him attractive. Despite my efforts, I can't seem to develop feelings for him. Seeing his face makes me angry, even though he treats me well and spends generously. His height and face are a deal-breaker for me. If I accept his proposal, I know it will cause pain, but no matter how rude I've been, he won't let go. I'm considering running away from my community altogether. I don't want him to know my parents; otherwise, I'm done.

Maybe he disgusts you because he gives you all what you don't deserve yet hence you perceive him as weak.

You are crying out now because you believe you might come around and bend over to his desires.
