Politics / Latest On CBN, Sanusi And Islamic Banking by SouthEast1: 8:54pm On Oct 11, 2011
As the CBN governor  invents Islamic banking for Nigerians and the president of CAN also canvassed for Christian banking, I have also  invented Traditional Banking for Nigerians. It will be the simplest, yet most secured and less complicated way of trusting and keeping your money with us.

The name of the bank nationwide will be Okija Bank of Nigeria (OBN). Your money will be transferred spiritually to any destination of your choice (both home and abroad). OPC will be the chief security at all banks locations in southwest; Egbesu in the south south; MASSOB in the south east, and Boko Haram in the north.

There will be no need for ATM  as you can just sit in the comfort of your home and send or receive money by reciting specific incantations on a piece of red cloth stuffed  in a Cow horn.

The following documents will be required to start banking with us immediately:

·         The beards of a young mosquito.

·         The left last toe of a cockroach.

·         Three strains of lion’s hair.

·         A snake egg.

·         Five drums of palm oil.

·         Six yards of white cloth.

We also offer internet banking for our yahoo fans. For more inquiries, please visit www.okijabankng.com or call Ekwensu on 08032600000.

We promise to serve you better, even after your departure. Thank you for your patronage.

Ethnicity is not our problem in Nigeria, it is these wicked leaders that are our problem.

Very wicked and heartless

Kudos to SWereners/yorubas for not using tribalism to support bankole and co in there corruption. Kudos

Liar. Yoruba youths demonstrated for Bankole. Yoruba Obas supported him. Google is your friend, use it.

Igbo president or Nigerian president.

So you expect me or any Nigerian to vote for an Igbo president instead of a Nigerian president ?

Even if it is Rochas, Once he talks of Igbo presidency, he has lost my vote.

You unrepentant hypocrite. You only have one vote. 2015 may yet make or break. Nuff said.
Politics / Re: South East Govs Demand For 2 Additional States by SouthEast1: 10:22pm On Oct 10, 2011
aribisala0:

i do not believe that these so called geopolitical zones are equal. i do not mean to disrespect anyone but if the SE needs 2 states so does lagos state

How many states do you want to make from the SW? Lagos needs increased fed allocation to cater for the huge population, not an additional state. The SW should support state equality and in reciprocation, the SE will support enhanced allocation for Lagos. That is fair enough, I guess.
Politics / Re: South East Govs Demand For 2 Additional States by SouthEast1: 10:19pm On Oct 10, 2011
The SE has the Deputy Senate President and the Deputy Speaker
These two individuals are by law responsible for organizing any constitutional changes
If they wil be there and not lobby their colleagues where necessary
If they will be there and not ensure that all zones are equal in states
Then it is bye bye to the whole thing
This may well be the only opportunity the SE has
Politics / Re: South East Govs Demand For 2 Additional States by SouthEast1: 10:16pm On Oct 10, 2011
aribisala0:

firstly i agree with the aspiration in principle but this zone thing is already a short change. nigeria came to independence as 3 regions now we are talking of 3 zones in the north. funny.
we in the west do not see why the north should have 3 zones what is the basis for that?? if there are 19 states in the north then there should be 19 in the west. so this geopolitical zone is meaningless

i don't think threatening to veto will achieve anything. that assumes that  other constitutional changes are to the benefit of other regions or that they have more to lose.
if we continue with the status quo who benefits ; the north.

what is being suggested is that the north give back the advantage they gained through military rule. a perfectly reasonable but naive request. why should they??

the restructuring nigeria needs can only come through a constitutional conference which is not going to happen unless it is forced by insurgency or civil unrest.

the question is this are the SE governors going to insist that 2 states are created in the SE and then say no to the clamour for Ijebu state and Lagoon State and expect to get 24 states of assembly to pass that.

Not just the SE need states:
SW needs one state
SS one state
NC One state
NE One state
SE two states
NW 0 state
That way, every zone will have state equality = 7 states
I have overflogged this issue here on NL for a long time
Otherwise, abrogate all the states and let's make do with regions alone
I support that Igbos stay away from constitutional amendments if this simple and fair request is not to be met.

You mean like they did to strong ibos in 1967 ?

That was war time, besides it was a combo of ngbatis, hausas. middle belters, some southern minorities and foreigners beating up a tiny Igbo population. This is peace time yet they whoop your a.r.s.e in your backyard. Why? grin grin grin grin grin tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue
Politics / Let's Go Back To Regions by SouthEast1: 11:49pm On Oct 07, 2011
Let's go back to regions
Let's have six regions per the current six geopolitical zones
Each region will have a Gov and a deputy Gov selected by people of the region
Each region may have as many states as they want
However, the states of each region will not get federal allocations from Abuja
Zones will get equal fed allocation and share among  states in each zone
Lagos will get some additional fed allocation due to its high population catering for people from all regions.
Additional allocation should go to zones producing the resources that feed the nation (similar to what obtains now)
The presidency should come from each zone rotationally, with two VPs, one of which should come from the president's zone (in case he decides to die before his tenure lapses)
One of the VPs (the one not from the President's zone) should double as the senate president (to save money)

Funny title

If indeed Hausas and Nupes occupied Onitsha before the Igbo, with whom was the subject of the article trading  when he was just a child?
Who was doing the Ofala? Hausas and Nupes in Onitsha or Igbos in Onitsha?

Two other observations: this Hausa man lived 81 years in the East and is still alive today. In contrast, all the easterners who would have lived 81 years in the North today have been killed many years ago by northerners.

How much has he physically invested in Onitsha where he calls home? Does he have a house of his own or he still lives on rented accommodation after all these years?

I used it and also with me personal experience travelling and I concluded that Onitsha is not the largest market in Africa, west Africa or Nigeria.

Based on transactions Onitsha in not top 3 on this country not to talk of Africa. With that said, it a market that has great potentials as an economic hub only if Peter Obi can nurture it and make it grow better to what it is today.

You are talking from your anus.

Kumasi market is the largest in west africa

Jankiri market is the largest in Nigeria followed by idumota , then oyingbo then sabon gari which has the largest open market in Nigeria

all this are larger than Onitsha market and i have been to onitsha market, idumota, sabon gari and Idumota

you can also google it urself or go there to find out

It depends on who you ask, to many Onitsha market is the largest in the entire Africa. Google is your friend, use.
