Why not replace with the exact specification that came with the car? They will modify many things from time to time based on this strange installation. Is your mechanic now a car designer. Have a feeling it will spoil your engine and transmission on the long run. Not minding how much you spent, go and get the required spec for your car

Go with a technician who can check these stuff, as seller most likely will not give you an honest answer.
when buying a naija used maxima, first check if there is any light on the dash board. if yes, scan and find out why. It rarely has mechanical engine faults, I have same model and it can be crazy if u keep driving with any light on the dash. check the way the transmission shifts too. It is a v6 and requires premium fuel so with regular fuel sold in naija, and traffic, consumption may be a little bit higher than Toyota and honda of same capacity. when test driving, do at least 30 min so as to know the behaviour and also allow
to steam. check if the tachometer is steady while idling. this can help you know if the MAF or ignition coils are good. 2000 maxima a times have issues here. But I don't advice you to buy Nija used maxima. Just an honest advice

part number is 22680-2Y001. Cannot remember the exact code but it is always one code about MAF failure. Once the MAF is replaced, it clears. The car is a 2000 model, 3L, v6,GXE. I actually want to find out why because it will be scary if I experience such on the 010 model.

The CEL will come on because the MAF went bad. I only install new OEM MAF. I just need some input on what makes the MAF go bad when I accelerate very hard. I have replaced the MAF but I don't want it going bad soon

The MAF is already gone. My issue is what makes it fails,it is only when i press down the throttle very hard, like when i want to overtake. If i drive smoothly the MAF never goes bad. Normally the CEL is on. This issue is recurrent and I change the MAF each time.

How reliable is the auto transmission.

I cannot actually say but those ones use CVT same kind of transmission in Murano. Use only cvt fluid for them else the transmission is killed. The maxima is also not good for bad roads or flooded area. Hope this helps

yes, used different generations of maxima. They are nice vehicles but you need to do routine maintain when due else on your own. The fuel economy is not as good as toyota and honda of same engine capacity especially in traffic jam. Watch the transmission if you want to buy the sixth generation maxima. You can compare price of parts with other Japanese cars if you need to find out which one is cheaper.

Good to scan the car. If you are not getting error codes, check your fuel pump. i had the problem once. The MAF may be the problem as costee sugested.

they are not good for pothole areas, cause if you mistakenly run into the holes at high speed your rim may be damaged and you may even have flat tyre instantly.
