I believe most of the posters simply detest her method of approach to an issue, and not particularly her ethics or what she generally stands for. You may have your intentions at heart, but how you communicate them without coming off as cold is where the problem really lies.
I remember a certain thread (created by a painfully obvious troll) about why Nigerian men preferred SA women to their own. And you wouldn't believe it, but the 9ja men we have here were so bone-crushingly idiotic to go kissing the butts of the SA ladies in there, affirming the assumption. Tpia, as a somewhat patriotic person, came in to counter the misogynism aimed at 9ja ladies, and was quickly branded 'Bitter.' That thread was so shameful, cuz it had idiots like Mr Cork further embarrassing us.

She strikes me as quite analytical.
But hey, I'm only an observer afterall.

It's good the PDP is losing in Imo. However, it's isn't exactly too good for the betterment of the state, for Rochas Okorocha is the actual 'white knight' needed for Imo; and he's in APGA. Ah well.

Wow. Can you beat that? Can you beat the extent of skull-shattering idiocy being advertised on this thread?
INEC officials are betraying their own country, registering minors and cheating our electoral system (an operation which would lead to the further wreckage of our country as well as the futures of our unborn children), and a bunch of tactless imbeciles (who can't see past their eyesockets) are only interested in petty tribalist bellows regarding the ethnicity of the culprits. You worthless pieces of constipated turd serve exactly ZERO importance to the betterment of our society.
I'd advise you all to go look for more constructive things to do with your frustrated lives - like getting hit by a molue bus!
Nonsense.

With all due respect, I think this semi-rotten pig semen of a man should be removed:

www.nairaland.com/nigeria?topic=604014.msg7721062#msg7721062

Please, do see to it that something is done about this, or atleast remove the idiotic post. People are talking about a tragic event which has claimed so many innocent souls, and this decomposing horseshit is using it as an avenue for his mindless and meaningless tribalism, all to the most idiotic snicker from no-one else but him. In all my years, I never quite got the humor in shamelessly insulting an ethnic group for one's gutter-level humor, in the face of untimely deaths of innocent souls.

Thank you.

PoliticsRe: President Goodluck Jonathan's Approval Rating by spade: 7:34am On Feb 12, 2011
- He's surrounded himself with criminals, murder convicts, corrupt administrators and desperadoes. People see him as the savior; but how do you expect the man to deliver us when he dines with the same people who left us in this current position?

- How do you expect him to save our economy when the safety of our lives has become a luxury? How can you expect seriousness and determination from a man whose only solution to the incineration of our brothers in the north is blind prayer?

- When the rule of law was duly carried out with Aregbesola's judicial victory, this president of ours accused Atiku of 'disloyalty to the PDP' for rejoicing on the verdict? Clearly, he's shown us he owes his allegiance to the PDP and not to Nigeria.

I used to be a fan. But after all these things, I've come to realize he doesn't deserve my vote.
CelebritiesRe: Ini Edo On The Cover Of Wow! Magazine by spade: 4:57am On Feb 12, 2011
It depends on what we're rating - the girl in the picture, the artistic technicalities or the grand package as a whole.
When it comes to technicality - lighting, airbrushing, lens focus, environmental decoration - I'd assign a perfect 5.
As for the babe in the picture, I'd give her a decent 3.
So, adding and dividing, the picture gets a normalized rating of 4, making up the grand package. Me, I go talk true, this picture shock me, cuz I never knew this girl could be this FIIIIIIIINE!

No offence, but this statement of yours is just too childish, meaningless and pathetic. Sad but true.

Have you tried to challenge the fact that Jonathan has just been taken to the cleaners? No.

I'm really disappointed with Jonathan's numerous goofs of late. From the look of things, he's starting to appear more and more as a man with little to no substance, determination or seriousness.
And the petty, childish posts from his soulless and semi-educated cyberthugs on this thread are quite embarrassing, shameful and sad to say the least.

Now, I might just have to really rethink my choice of candidate, this April, as I deeply despise the insincere folk.

What a pity.

It's only a pity the depths some soulless posters we have in here would sink all in pursuit of shallowness. Well, if anyone even took this rotting llama carcass of a man seriously in the first place, then na you sabi.

I get increasingly worried with the amount of gaffes committed by the president of late. What with all the wrong affiliations he's having with the wrong crowd, to the fact that he's actually starting to sound a lot more like OBJ and his do-or-die ideology.
As an unbiased contributor, I'd tell you 100 percent that this guy don mess up.

@ sisikill and spade,

Have you seen The Social Network at all? Justin (to my dismaytongue) was actually quite impressive. I didn't know he could act his arse off like that. Seriously.
Yes - for a guy like him, it was a pleasant surprise. But Oscar hopeful? Oh c'mon. A Teens' choice award, I'd approve - because, come to think of it, his performance wasn't any different from the kind of stuff you'd see Johnny Leguizamo do.

Sisi_Kill:
They can't just give the Oscar to "How to Train your Dragon", they gotta pretend there's competition  cheesy
grin
Apparently, you're in another planet - probably the Viking planet; because, first of all, Toy Story IS the movie to beat at the Animation category, and that's what critics believe too (read reputable blogs to broaden your view on this subject and confirm my point). Toy Story is the best-reviewed movie of 2010 with a 99 percent rating on rottentomatoes.com, as opposed to How To Train Your Dragon's 98. It is also the highest selling film of 2010, as well as the highest grossing animated movie ever made, with a superb haul of roughly 1.07 billion dollars. Critics like Roger Ebert have long tipped this movie to be a valid contender for the Best Picture title. So, for you to even think of How To Train Your Dragon as anything remotely similar to a shoe-in is just totally laughable.

Oh, and, umm, by the way, I think Mobinga was actually talking about its presence in the Best Picture category. smiley

Wow! Social Network over Inception, me thinks the reality aspect of The Social Network won it as it is related to Facebook.
sting_224:
'The Social Network' was ok, but I didn't think it was better than 'Inception'. I mean I'd seen so much of facebook, watching a movie of it was just as tiring. I'm happy 'Broadwalk Empire' made it to the list, for me its the best tv series since after 'The Wire'.
My brother, no talk this thing for public again, e hear? Because, if you actually saw that movie, you'd know it had very little to do with the technical aspects of that site. Infact, The Social Network was even more of a witty college drama than 'The Facebook Movie' a lot of ignorant people brand it. The movie is filled with superb dialogue, excellent lines, and a maelstrom of powerful performances.
Abegi, give to Caesar his rightful honor - that movie is brilliant, and definitely deserves every single accolade bestowed upon it.
TV/MoviesRe: Winners Of The 2011 Golden Globe Awards by spade: 1:08pm On Jan 19, 2011
Oh yes! Christian Bale for the win! cool
The Golden Globes, over time, have helped serve as some kind of barometer on who the Academy Award winners would be, and I'm so glad to see my boy (Lord Bale) is definitely in the running. Kinda feel bad for my other guy James Franco though - That Colin Firth is just too much competition this year.
I think Inception is going to be winning big on the technical section (Visual Effects, Sound, Cinematography) - and that's just about it.
With these results, I think I can now predict who the oscar winners would be:

Best Picture - The Social Network (long live the nerd!)
Best Actor - Colin Firth
Best Actress - Natalie Portman
Supporting Actor - Christian Bale
Supporting Actress - Melissa Leo
Original Screenplay - Social Network
Adapted screenplay - King's Speech
Animation - Toy Story 3
Director - David Finch
Score - Hans Zimmer (Inception)
Visual Effects - Inception

Yep smiley

any chance? I ask because most
Nairaland members from that
region have a strange and oddly
peculiar way of reasoning and
talking. Who respects , "with all

consider to be a "despot" ?
Ahh, thank you, my brother. What I actually meant to say was "potential despot" - but since I was using a phone, proof-reading was technically stressful. smiley

I find it funny, however, the fact you decided to side-step each and every flawless point raised by Marvix, only to jump on the inconsequential and unimportant question regarding my place of origin, as a desperate attempt to gain a few points. Unfortunately, that is a way of unwittingly admitting to your defeat in this debate, because it simply shows you've got nothing else to say in order to convince us otherwise, regarding Ribadu's clear incapability. Well, since you're obviously still under the illusion that picking on people's choice of words is going to earn your candidate some votes, then you're definitely in for a shock when reality beckons on April - because, guess what? At this point, we (with our "oddly peculiar way of reasoning"wink are going to be voting GEJ, since it is obvious the internet grammar nazis and closet tribalists have woefully failed to convince us with any intelligent arguments in favor of the contrary. Too bad, so sad.

Oh, by the way, I'm from Abia State - so you've even failed on the second count. smiley
PoliticsRe: NL Official Presidential Opinion Poll by spade: 11:58am On Jan 17, 2011
I am not surprised it is now 21 to 14 in favor of Ribadu
Well, it looks like you spoke too soon, my dear Gbawe, as Jonathan is now just 2 votes away from beating Mr. Ribadu.
It is only natural that most people are quick to initially support Nuhu; but after viewing things from a more critical and objective angle, especially considering the flawless points raised by Marvix, they begin to realize that Ribadu IS, by all accounts, a despot. Do not get me wrong - He and Utomi, I respect with all my heart; but I'd very honestly prefer they FIRST attain Senatorial posts before going for Citizen Number 1.
Trust me, it's for the best smiley
