carujmonella: Spade, any progress on 'SpadeOfMind'?. Have you trekked to abeokuta?. Have she 'friendzoned' you as usual?Guy, as I am speaking to you now, I have set up a committee to look into the trekkability of a Calabar-Gombe-Ibadan journey, after which the appropriate shoe-shiner shall be granted full custody of my phone and computer. And no, I don't keep friends o. If they're male, they're brothers. If I like a girl, she's a potential wife. Not even girlfriend o! ![]() So for now, we are on top of the 'Martha'. |

dominique: You're welcome bro, anytime. I dey gbadun your comeback for that thread (I've posted there sha). those people on that thread strike me as ones that can carry Dilish matter for head and won't see through her fakeness. If I were her, I would slowly fade away and continue doing my international runz quietly.LMAO! Like you knew exactly what I was thinking ![]() God forbid I ever have a child that reasons like them. I go empty my bank account conducting DNA tests to ensure he/she is NOT mine. |
dominique: Spadey you too much jor, I'm lovin your combacks 101% onpoint This is the point I've been trying to make! The Nigerian audience really has a long way to go as far as sophistication is involved. These narrow-minded people think they're doing their hero a favour by attacking people like us blindly, not knowing they're actually his biggest enemies, cuz they continue to DECEIVE and LIE to him on how well he's doing, even when his discography has been utter garbage since 2011! When you give them a reality check, all they've got is 'D'Banj can buy your destiny! D'Banj can buy your mom! D'Banj is worth more than your state's entire GDP' like that has ANYTHING to do with the flaming turd he throws at our eardrums. They cease being fans, and become deceitful sycophants. Will Smith is worth 215 million dollars, but that didn't stop his summer movie "After Earth" from detonating at the box office and getting battered beyond recognition by critics. But had this been in Nigeria, people who tell you this would be heckled relentlessly, and tagged "haters", "bad-belle people" and even "bigots". So shameful! You needed to see the way the angry Zimbabweans took D'Banj to the cleaners on their blogs, calling him an iidiiot with only 2 songs they can remember, and in that case, undeserving of a spot in that concert. I wonder why these clowns on Nairaland can't go there and also list to them the number of cows and wheelbarrows D'Banj can afford. Anyway, they will continue to deceive themselves while I keep stating nothing but the raw truth. And that's a fact that will forever stay unchanged. |

ToyinDipo: So there is another Eminem fan here. Actually, I first listened to his My name is song on local tv. Though I had one 'bad guy' that knew his songs then, but it was much later I really liked Eminem. His rhyming skill I believe is unmatchable, he is poetic, though not like 2pac, and his flow is just too great.Wow! My favorites go like this: Stan (brilliant writing in the form of a brutally honest play. Game-changer) - The Slim Shady LP Say Goodbye To Hollywood (He bares his heart, his fears and his regrets on this one) - The Eminem Show Sing For The Moment (This song is a reality check to the people who choose to blame his lyrics for their dumb decisions in life. The third verse is pure unadulterated epicness) - The Eminem Show Hailie's Song (A touching song dedicated to his daughter. He sings in it, and I must say, he's not bad at all) - The Eminem Show The Real Slim Shady (LOL. Straight up clowning) - The Slim Shady LP Honestly, The Eminem Show and The Slim Shady LP are his best works by miles IMHO. |
ToyinDipo: Presently I don't really have any favourite artist except Eminem and maybe Rihanna. When I was in school, I listened to a lot of Celine Dion, Akon (while he was still making hits) , Rihanna (I really liked her songs), Westlife, BackStreet Boys, Kelly Clarkson, Nelly Furtado and others like Jojo (my one time crush), Leona Lewis...However, I hardly fancy naija music, sorry to say (poor lyrics and over-the-top-beat). I only listen to Asha and Tyler Bello or something back then.Eminem is a beast, no doubt! His first video I ever watched was "The Way I Am", and I was instantly hooked by that muthafucka. Can't really say I'm feeling Rihanna, cuz she seems to be more of a studio artist than a stage artist. I was in the audience at that epic 2007 ThisDay concert, and as soon as she came on, she was a total snooze. As in, very boring! The Nigerian scene is full of talent ooh! The problem, I believe, is the lack of sophistication on the part of the audience. Everybody wants Dancehall, dancehall, dancehall. Nothing else. So, the artists unfortunately are forced to bend in that direction. How else do I explain Project Fame winner, Iyanya, who now chooses to sing Your Waist, Your Waste, Your Waist? The dude is naturally talented, but the audience ain't ready for that, so he has no option than to record the craap they love to hear. Yeah, Asa, Bello, Paul Play, Obiora Obiwon, Etcetera and Samsong are the Nigerian artistes I still love. |
ItsModella: Erm, does anybody remember the girl band called TLC? Too feminine, I knowMy favorite TLC song was "UnPretty". 1999 was an awesome year for music sha. |
All the time she spent around me, in the warmth of my embrace was a testimony of the sweetness of your grace. All the pain and all the sadness always easier to bear because you came and made a home within our love. My Lord, how can I make her understand that I still care, My Lord whenever she needs a man around I'm not there? My Lord, how can I make her know that our love has found a home within your heart? My favorite song from their Expressions album. Lyrically MOWS DOWN D'Banj's entire career. But today, he's the popular one. Simply put, mehn, the Nigerian audience ain't ready for real shhiit yet. |
You should save your life for those you looooove, cuz they'll need you in their lives Day and niiiiiight Day and night (oh, day and niight) You should save your life those who loooove you, they'll need you in their lives need you in their lives they'll neeeed youuu - Styl-Plus Loved it! ![]() |
ToyinDipo: It's like you like soft songs, like soft rock, bluez, soul. I kinda do too. Some guys often mistake me for a bad guy because I sing them a lot. And they are often love songs. My favorite genres are New Age (Enya, The Corrs, etc), Soft Rock (Cold Play, Staind, Lifehouse), Electronica (Daft Punk, Supermen Lovers), Death Metal (Evanescence, Breaking Benjamin), Powerpop (The Who, Fountains of Wayne, Capital Cities, We The Kings) and Soul (Lighthouse Family). Although I like other songs from other genres; but if you ransack my iPod, laptop, etc, na these above listed types of songs you go find. Rest assured, D'Banj no go dey am ![]() |
njokusboy: Lolzz, I loved dat damn song.. "The day you went away by M2M, boiz 2 men, elton johns sacrifice, phil collins. Westlife sef... I loved those songs meen..Bryan was my favorite from Westlife, and sadly, he was the one who left. I stopped paying attention to Westlife afterwards. Their cover of Josh Groban's "You Raise Me Up" was the last time I gave a damn. Sir Elton John's many hits still have their spots on my iPod, especially "Circle of Life", "Sacrifice" and even the ooooold ones like "I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues". I miss the 90's for real. |
ToyinDipo: I liked the song die, runaway?Yep! I've got their entire works. My favorite, though, is "What Can I Do?". |
