That would be a very bad move. Attacking a Russian city will certainly turn out to be rallying cry the Russian troops need to boost their morale.

As it stands Ukraine is winning a lot of sinparty playing the victim (which they are) this has even led to a loss of morale among the Russians because many of them both soldiers and civilians view this war as unnecessary just look at the protests against the war happening in Russia.

The only person driving this war is Putin and his useless ego.

Let me educate you small, once Ukraine joins NATO, automatically it means they can host NATO weapons and any attack by Russia on Ukraine after joining NATO would mean all NATO members would attack Russia, it's called collective defence. And that would signal 3rd world war.

US will not deploy nuclear weapons in NATO countries as that will be a declaration of war. Why do you think they haven't deployed any in Turkey? Is Turkey not a NATO country that is relatively close to Russia?

The reason for the Russian aggression is as you stated, NATO being a defensive coalition will be forced to confront Russia if Ukraine joins. However Russia decided to attack to stop Ukraine from joining Not because they are scared of NATO deploying nuclear weapons that will threaten their existence in Ukraine, but because President Putin sees Ukraine as a part of the old Soviet Union and is trying everything to bring back USSR.

No the two events are different. Syria and the Arab coalition declared war on Israel and sought to completely wipe Israel from the face of the earth. But Israel struck them preemptively and humiliated all the Arab coalition, seizing the Golan heights among other territories as spoils of war.

In Russia's case they are the aggressors, they annexed Crimea without any provocation or war being declared which is completely illegal. Now they have invaded a sovereign country and killed innocent people.
