AND FCT is clearly written

We dont know whether 25% is required in fct.the And is open to interpretation but I am sure that the court will uphold tinubu
Heaven won't fall or Nigeria won't burn if the court fails to upload Tinubu..
Same is applicable if he is uphold.

IT IS JUST LIKE ANY OTHER STATE IN NIGERIA!
The constitution didn't say FCT is special..

Section 299 of the constitution provides that "References in this Constitution to the Federation or Nigeria shall be construed as including references to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja". This means that any reference to Nigeria or the Federation in the constitution also includes the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Furthermore, Section 299(2) of the constitution provides that "The provisions of this Constitution shall apply to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja as if it were one of the States of the Federation". This means that the constitution treats the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja as if it were a state, and the provisions of the constitution, including those relating to the rights and obligations of citizens, the conduct of government business, and the allocation of revenue, apply to the FCT as they do to the states of the federation.

In summary, the constitution treats the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, like a state in Nigeria, and it is subject to the same laws and regulations as the other states of the federation.
Correct, FCT is as important as other states in Nigeria
and that's why is clearly stated

AND 25% in FCT

Which Tinubu failed to attain

Is just like the rule of simple majority to win...

The should meet all the electoral requirements as stated in the constitution to become the president..
Every other president before him did so...

Moreover, getting 25% in FCT shouldn't be difficult for the winner...

Northerners led it for almost 5 years during this Buhari regim.
What do they have to show for it absolutely NOTHING
Even south west that had their son as vice president..
All the roads leading to south west are still in bad shape..
A lot of people from the southwest are still unemployed..

Those guys don't really care about their people is just personal gains

Buhari enjoyed himself through out his tenure
He traveled around the world even places he had never imagined...
After 8 years the North still has the highest amount of people living in poverty, highest number of out of school children, highest number of hungry children...

Yet, South East got the 2nd Niger bridge, south east has taken over other regions in terms of elementary education, LNG plant in Oguta..
2 new Airports and so on

1 Southeast - because of their natural democratic principles, astuteness, industries business-minded and natural resources.

2 South South - Because of their oil

3 North - Agriculture

4 Southwest Education even though they are now behind southeast in educational pursuit and excellence
South East has large deposits of the following
Coal
Natural gas
Oil
Agricultural land
Fresh water and lakes
Commerce (Trade, SME, manufacturing)
Human capital and education
Foreign investment (imagine if all the southern easterners aboard start investing in SE)
Again South East would experience efficient resources management and allocation due to her appropriate population growth

The op think he is smart unfortunately he is not.

Question one implies English Language is not a subject like the other 4 subjects.

Question two also implies mango and apple are different types of fruit.

For the umpteenth time, section 299 states "The provisions of this Constitution shall apply to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja as if it were one of the States of the Federation".
FCT is not a special state, she only houses the seat of power. FCT does not reflect the true state of Nigeria, for example, the good roads and other amenities in Abuja are not seen in many states.

Therefore;
1. You need to have credits in 5 subjects
2. There can only be 37 mangoes or 37 apples on op's bowl, and I will gladly give him the 25 he wanted😀

Apparently English is not that simple as the op had thought.
Cheers
The law is not saying the votes from the state that houses the governor is higher, more valuable or special...

What the law is saying is the true winner should easily get 25% of the votes from the state that would house him or her....

Which Tinubu failed to get...

Is very simple, easy and clear

Interpreting law in a lame man way will only end you up in jail. The only way you can view this and to easily clear your skull is to reason thus; a particular state has 36lgas and one of the LGA houses the governor's office. Must the running governor wins the particular lga where the government office is situated before he could be declared a winner? Is the LGA different from other LGAs in the state because it houses the governor's office?

Until you are able to interpret the law like this, you will forever remains a perpetual crying baby.

Good day
The law says win some of the votes from the 36 LGAs AND 25% of the votes from LGA that houses the governor....

Is a simple, clear and easy

The law is not saying the votes from the LGA that houses the governor is higher, more valuable or special...

Just a certify a certain percentage of the LGA that houses the governor thats all..

Which the true winner should easily get

Places like asaba, minna do not have lga chairmen yet the gov doesnt act asr the chairmen.
In that section 299,the constitution did not say they will serve as govs and lawmakers.it said they will act.it did not specify any special requirement for them to be able to act
Exactly, they will ACT
Yes all votes are equal including FCT votes
That's why is mandatory to get 25% in FCT...
It shouldn't be difficult for the winner to get

That is why you need to read the constitution.everything that applies to a gov, applies to a president.you read the constitution holistically and not narrowly inorder to get the true intendment of the framers.no law will ever elevate somebody or a place above others.equality before the law is spiritually sacrosanct.
Yet the constitution stated AND FCT
But didn't state and State capital

Don't forget States capital like Osogbo have LGA chairman...
The governor does not serve as the chairman of Osogbo unlike FCT that the president and NASS serves as governor and State assembly

The constitution is clear
So is the Obidient that wrote the constitution?

For state capitals is mandatory it would be stated in the constitution
Don't forget States capital like Osogbo have LGA chairman... The governor isn't not the chairman unlike FCT that the president and NASS serves as governor and State assembly

The constitution never said so.if they meant it,they would have also included it for governors.it would have said and in the fct or and also in the fct.saying and the fct could mean many things.right from kindergarten stage,we where told that Nigeria is made up of 36 states and fct not 36 state including the fct.therefore, the framers had this in mind when framing the constitution
Now the constitution has made it clear AND FCT
Moreover, votes from other states is same and equal with votes from FCT...
Hence 25% in FCT is mandatory to be president

Making 25% in fct mandatory means elevating fct above all other states.if votes were equal, the constitution would have required the president getting 25% in all the states or in at least 25 states inclusive of fct.
Nobody is elevating FCT
Talking about equality
13 million votes were against 8 million
Are you saying 8 million is greater than 13 million

All votes are equal in all states AND FCT

So since all votes are equal then 25% FCT votes is also equal to votes from other states....

You are missing it.if the president is deemed to be the gov of fct,the constitution would have required him to win fct not get only 25%.if fct is not a state, then it is inferior to a state and its votes are not important
But the constitution already requires him to get 25% of FCT already... He should meet the requirements first..

You are reading it myopically and narrowly.that section has ordered us to treat the fct as a state in all matters.seeing the president as the governor is just a stop gap measure and for administrative purpose.he is to act as gov because they dont have a gov in the real sense.if you say the president is gov, then he must not just have 25% in fct,he must win there just like a governor must win his state.the national assembly members too must also be required to contest elections in abuja since they are the fct lawmakers going by your analogy.it doesbt make sense.if you read the post of the op,the judges clearly said when there is ambiguity in any statute, they will pick a construction that makes more sense.
Universally, all votes are equal.the votes of fct is same as the other states.the court will never elevate the votes of fct above any other state.buhari vote and mine is equal
You are actually reading it blindly...
Universally all votes are equal that's why AND FCT is mandatory...
If all votes weren't equal only the votes from a particular region is enough to make a candidate president...

Go and read section 299 again...

From section 299..

Assume FCT is a state and the president is the governor. How do you become a governor of FCT without winning 25% votes from FCT?

The provisions of this Constitution shall apply to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja as if it were one of the States of the Federation; and accordingly -

(a) all the legislative powers, the executive powers and the judicial powers vested in the House of Assembly, the Governor of a State and in the courts of a State shall, respectively, vest in the National Assembly, the President of the Federation and in the courts which by virtue of the foregoing provisions are courts established for the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja;

(b) all the powers referred to in paragraph (a) of this section shall be exercised in accordance with the provisions of this Constitution; and
More: https://jurist.ng/constitution/sec-299

If you read well you will understand that section 299 just affirm or justifies why is mandatory to get 25% in FCT..
Because just like other states the president serves as the Governor of FCT..
Now ask yourself, how do you become governor of FCT (as state) without winning 25% votes of the state?

As it stands the only reason that would stop Tinubu from being disqualified are corrupt, partisan and bigoted Judges....
