Oceanic alone has taken fund from depositors (total deposit) to the tune of 835 Billion!  


That alone is more than the 420 Billion CBN is pumping  into the five banks. If every depositor with Oceanic tries to withdraw their money  there isn't much CBNs 420 billion can do.

In banking when u take in money from a depositor its called a liability. Oceanic alone has more liability than the 420 billion and don't get me started on Union or Intercontinental. Remember Union has been taking deposits for about a hundred years now. Imagine how much liability they have. Intercontinental has so many salary accounts (imagine how deposits they have taken from people)

In my opinion, just leave a minimum balance of 50k cause that is the max NDIC insures for.  Move the rest to a savings or fixed -deposit account with  the banks that have passed.

Notice my seemingly in quote. No job is menial as long as it is honest and will pay your bills. my friend learnt all sort when she was searching for a job - Baking and sewing . My sis-in law learnt hairdressing ( both are 2.1 graduates of cmp sci) - skills that have becoem insdispnsable to them now even with their high flying jobs now

i agree with the God angle. GOd is your best shot.

In the mean time learn some trade or something like tailoring and capentry. If u search hard enough u will find someone who will allow u to study under them for free. Focus and reach for excellence. No job is too menial and u can make great money doing "seemingly" menial job.

The news is sensational but its hardly good news. In reality it spells doom for a lot of bankers; out of every ten bankers you know, about 2 will loose their jobs.

Unemployment rate goes up; fraud and crimes go up. Who better to defraud the banks left standing than the one who used to cook books and cover their trails with scented flowers?

Imagine how many financial genius will now be vying for the same job others have previously been interviewed for?

Imagine how standards of living of your family and friends who are bankers will drop. People you use to like to hang out with cause they had spare cash will now become prudent overnight. Not much fun for a friday night out.

Not good news at all. Thank God my money is safe in GTB. You cant imagine the traffic at intercontinental over the weekend. Their ATMs must have been emptied of cash in record time.

NO need to panic. Your money is safe.  Most of the jobs in the bank too are safe. They might just cut salaries a bit (a little below industry average) if its very high.

This move is to protect depositor and other players in the industry. So rest easy. No reason to pull out your money form the ATM or jam the banking halls on monday.

Stop complaining about your bank. If you are not satisfied then do your research and change to another that u will like.

They are all not the same u know. Just decide those things that are important and compulsory for you to have in ur FI, do ur reaserch and chnage to a bank hat will give u just that. Finish!

She is probably attracted to u because she knows u r a big boy, if u want to caution her spending, do it the way my father used to my pocket money. If she brings back change from the market, the 'change' is hers no matter how much it is and the next time she needs money u give it to her without hassles about the 'change' she kept but chances are she will ask reasonably because u know how much 'change ' she has left anyway.

its a shame to the people who tried to cheat cause the interview is going to fish them out. U may think u can cheat at the exam level but the interview will fish u out.
