The fact that someone has lot of friends and hang out with people does not mean they have self confidence. some of them even use to crowd to cover their lack of it. Get on a one on one with them, they'll melt.

My mum noticed my ish in secondary school. I'd represent my school then, face the camera, feature on TV and talk on radio coz I was the literary and debating society. I spoke in front of my state's Governor then and even sang in the choir but I'd run away from family functions.
She made me stay in the Hostel during my OND days, now I'm no longer in touch with any of them.

I do not like meeting people. I don't bother starting friendship with anyone coz I'm scared it'll end very soon as I don't have what it takes to sustain it. I'm not in touch with any of my secondary school friends- I just connected with two recently and I'm bored already.
I have not attended any party since 2010! I'm scared of going out - Agoraphobia ish. I can stay home for weeks and not complain. My friend helped me improve a bit when I was in school.
Funny thing is, I'm not shy, I can face the whole of Nigerian and talk. When I manage to get out I can be playful and all but if you try to come close, I just shut you out. I don taya.
I don't have a large circle. Even on social media, I screen my friends list at every opportunity I get.
The good part of me, I'm a good conversationalist.

PS: there's a difference between being shy, being quiet and being introverted.

I will advise u not to ask for any estimate for your build. If u really want to build, do it gradually from foundation to completion. You might budget 2000000 and at the end of the day u spend less or more. The most important thing is for u to get your desired taste. U might get discouraged with various quotation from this forum. At each stage u can ask the professionals in the house and u will be guided.

You know how it is when you wanna buy a phone but you're scared to go to a phone store coz you think it'll cost you the whole world, so you just ask about phone prices from people and see if you'll get anything within your budget? That's the way it is here too.
That building no be today o, which explains why the design is 'outdated'. We just considered resuming work on it recently and everyone was like, 'With this economy', that's the reason I brought it here so we know where to start from.

I think you are smart. You want to crosscheck the quotations those burgers handling ur project are given you. A piece of advice for you...You may need to go physically to markets and find out exact prices of every little things even up to nails. I am serious about this.

This burgers are cabals on their own. There cartel is so strong that you may not notice any meaningful cost advantage even after comparing 10 to 15 different quotations. All I'm saying in a nutshell is do not rely absolutely on their quotations, they are very smart at swindling people. Ensure you bargain for 15% cut in whatever quotation you choose.

So you want to double the number of toilets? If you have kids, can't they share one bathroom? Or if somebody is cooking, you want them to enter the room first, and then bathroom? And what's wrong with guest (residing, and the ones visiting for the afternoon) using the same guest toilet?

I also think the location of the guestroom is fine. Close to the palour. Personally, I would rather keep my guestroom away from my kids and the rest of the household. If privacy is an issue, it's a minor inconvenience as guests stay 2-5 days max.

OP, never mind this harsh critique, it's a fine floorplan and uses money effectively. No need ensuiting everything like we see. You know how much each toilet adds to budget? If you can have some glass louvres (not casement) separating the courtyard from the hallway/lobby and from the dining room, it could bring fresh air and light into the house. Consider putting some potted plants there.

As for cost, I would be surprised if you spent less than 9m on this building. For one, the estimates on door are too low... budget 50k-70k or more if you want doors that last.

The simple truth is that you will spend 1.5x to 2x what you budget. There is also the danger that your tastes will expand to fill your budget and you'll still end up spending more money. I would advice finishing the 4 outer walls and roof as quickly as possible. Then plumbing and wiring. Then plaster and finish each room as you go. Even if it's only one toilet and two doors you can buy for now, it's OK. If you can move in before it's finished, you'll save rent where you are now, allowing you a greater chance of completing.

Otherwise you'll find yourself in a situation I got into not too long ago: not enough money to finish, and not finished enough to move in.

From what I've seen on here, the professionals would need a building plan as well as the area that you're building in to give you a very very rough estimate.

The method that I'm employing is different from most on here so it might not be applicable to you as I'm not in any hurry to complete my build at all.

This will not work. All these international organizations need to find a way to deal directly with the Youths. Once they start implementing their programmes through government agencies, it becomes rubbish.
UNICEF partnered with the Federal Government and NYSC to implement Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs), that was all we heard of it. The corps members are left to work on their own without funds to carry out their necessary projects and the government will hoard the fund meant for community projects while assuring the International organizations that they are doing fine.
