I graduated last year July, completed my clearance and waiting my institution to drop senate list so I can register for my service year, I'm super excited about going for NYSC but something has been bugging for a while and I need urgent answers

I want to go with my Laptop so I can work remotely. I want to keep my remote job while serving.

Are pcms allowed to come to NYSC camp with their gadgets?

I recently landed a decent job as a customer support staff for a North American based game tech company and it's fully remote, my shift is usually from 6pm till midnight and maybe 3am once or twice weekly cause of the time difference. My hopes are high that I’d be able to put in a few hours while at camp and keep my job during the course of my service year since it's fully remote, the experience is a huge plus on my cv, and the hours are quite flexible

Can't ask for 3 weeks off cause I've only been working with the firm for less that 2 months though I'm not new to remote work as I've been working remotely for over two years on both contract and freelance projects since 2020 (lockdown/ASUU strike) forced everyone to explore opportunities in the digital space.

I love my job and I want to keep it, but I'm hearing that Laptops are prohibited in most Camps how true is this and what are my chances?

laptop isn't allowed in NYSC camp. Also, you might not have the luxury time to work online while in camp due to the activities. Most times, you guys would either be on parade ground or lecture room which is always boring but you have no choice. You are only free around 8 or thereabouts and expected to be on bed by 10pm (light out) and you are mandated to sleep. (Compulsory sleep) You mustn't be found pressing your phone or whataview. Unless you are a medical graduates who probably might be on shift at the clinic then you can try to manipulate it with your boss (but sadly laptop isn't allowed)

I would suggest you get the documents to exit camp after registration. By doing this, you wouldn't undergo the 3 weeks activities in camp then come back the last day for your PPA letter which most times you can print on your dashboard. Meaning, no point going back for your PPA letter on the departure day

OR

Postpone your service year pending till when you might have worked up to a year with your employer. Then you can tell them to give you 3 weeks break for camping. Hopefully, your wish might be granted considering the fact that you've been with them for at least a year

call up letter is after registration not now

If she's a local graduate, she needs no documents other than a valid email address and passport.

But on the portal you only need to notify your school when it's addition or removal. Mine is actually a letter was included in my name. Instead of Michael, it was spelt Michel. Do I still have to notify my school or I should wait for Nysc to do it automatically as stated on their website?

If it's linger too long then you might need to inform your school SAO. Until then, just hold on for a while to see the outcome

To have access to your dashboard inorder to work your posting to your desired state. Everything partaining to NYSC (online registration, call up letter, PPA et al) takes place on individuals dashboard

There is going to be ASUU NEC meeting by this coming weekend, perhaps by next week Monday, we may have a concrete statement on when the strike will be starting!

No strike will hold. This present ASUU president is so soft compare to the past one. The FG are even likely not to take him and the rest serious as they've been clamouring for strike since last year but still end up not embarking on their threat.

it can be corrected in camp. But ensure you get it done before documentation. Although your year of graduation, date of birth and course of study are what will appear on your discharge (NYSC) certificate after passing out. The year you commence your study to when you finished wouldn't be on your discharge certificate. This means, it's not something serious. Nevertheless, you can make correction at the camp

You can't sue someone who you ain't legally married to for terminating pregnancy. It's her body and not yours

You guys don't need to register since you ain't ready for stream 1. Just register for stream 2 but make sure to register earlier enough to avoid being move to batch B stream 1

You can make correction on your dashboard. It can also be corrected in camp

No. Payment isn't compulsory but neccesary. Moreover, call up number do fluctuate. Some might get it immediately after registration, while some within 24-48hrs after registration

I saw February 2nd and December on the list. from the date of birth you used, you already clocked 30 last year February 2nd (one of the date your result was approved). You clocked 31 last week Wednesday

I'm sorry you'd be exempted from service, EXCEPT you chose to influence your age by reducing it just to accommodate you for service

I had done internal mobilization with sch last year batch c stream 2. I didn't even bother checking the NYSC Senate list. I didn't do anything at all

Now this night I don't even know what took me to the portal and I decided to check and saw my name on the portal for PCM and written registered.
I would love to go for service by this March batch but I'm confused considering that I was 31 last December and I don't want my hopes dashed again reason I didn't bother that last year. Please am I free to also register now?

You clocked 31 last December? This means you are already 30 when you did your internal mobilization for batch C stream 2 right? When exactly was your result got approved? You can calculate your date of birth to when your school senate approved your result just to know if you already clocked 30 on or before that day

From your explanation, if it happens that you already clocked 30 on or before your result was approved by the Senate, then you'd be exempted from service

it means the date your result got approval by the Senate. Thus, you can easily calculate your date of birth down to the said date to know if you ain't 30 on or before it was approved

revalidation might be included later (before the end of registration) or perhaps in stream 2

Yes, those in batch A Most times occupy the preferred PPA. Reason why corpers got rejected in some places due to the presence of corpers in that particular PPA are quite enormous (already occupied by batch A 1&2)

Please learn how to read to comprehend. A 7 years old is already supporting for upkeep. Nigerians lives in dilapidated building. Building erected with wood, pan, canopy et al. Having a roof over one's head isn't a much problem in Nigeria compare to the western world. You would only asked how quality is the roof? Which most definitely more than 60% of Nigerians lives in slum. Those you see in the street of Lagos sleeping under the bridge or whataview left their home town where they had roof over their head down to Lagos for greener pastures but couldn't afford getting accommodation in Lagos

Parents who can't even survived on their own without demanding from their children who's still finding their foot. This same parents are luring their children to cyber fraud (Yahoo) as they can' no longer withstand the man made suffering they created by themselves. The menace in the society today is as a result of bad/poor parenting and not government. These parents don't have a say on their children anymore because they failed to provide for them while growing. These children resort to fending for themselves at younger age exposing them negatively. Particularly, the girl child

Show me a couple doing pretty fine for themselves but still looking up to God for the fruit of the womb and i will gladly show you couples with 5, 6,7 children who can't even afford a square meal abusing those beautiful couples for their childlessness thinking their own is better than theirs because they had children that they can't fend for

Parents should be intentional in raising their children. They should desist from outsourcing their responsibility on their children. Not even children who are up and doing. I mean children who just left school or those with little or no education. How on earth do you expect them to fend for themselves and still look after their parents earning peanut/underemployed or unemployed? How on earth would parents watch their children using phones, wearing clothes, shoes et al that they would never be able to afford for the rest of their lives and they couldn't call them to attention?

Parents know and enable these children in crime just because of Money and possibly shield them away not until it drives close to home

i was given birth in a government owned hospital where it's completely free. The last time i checked, the poorest in Nigeria can still have a roof over his/her head no matter what. I was responsible and supportive for my feeding from 7 because i and my siblings had to hawk before we can put something in our tommy. I'm pretty sure if there were no free education in Nigeria, then i wouldn't get formal education

Despite the penury we still struggle to see ourselves through school. School that was almost free during their time with good job awaiting them after graduation but they couldn't seized the opportunity then

Sadly, here we are today suffering despite being educated but couldn't land a job

not all PCMs who registered for batch A1 will get called up. Some will be shifted to stream 2 for logistic reason. Same applies to other batches/stream
