I will try to make this as short and simple as possible.

My kid sister texted me on WhatsApp this evening saying she almost got raped by the guy crediting her online wallet for her, I drove straight to my mum's store because I was just leaving the office.

Now I met her and asked what's up.

She has an online wallet where she recharges decoders, pays electricity bills for people, sells airtime and data etc. She is a student and she's doing that business in my mum's store so she could help herself in school.

She said someone sent her 30k to pay his electricity bill and also recharge his decoder for him so she went to the guy's shop to get her account credited but he wasn't there then she called him and he directed her to his house in that same street very close to the shop.
She got there and the guy tried forcing himself on her, mind you she's on her period, she refused and during the scuffle she lost one of her earrings, she begged me not to take action that the guy has apologised, seeing that I was very hurt and I wanted to confront the guy at that moment. while she was explaining to me the guy called and kept on apologizing but I'm not having any of that.

I wanted to call some of my friends to beat up the guy but after she begged me, I still want confront the guy, warn him seriously but I need advice on if that's the best thing to do or which way do you think is best to approach the situation?

From what I can deduce from your account of the incident, you seem to be one hell of a rude brother in-law, the type that delibrately refused to respect their brother's wife.

Some women are actually respectful and have high tolerance, but some are not so gifted, you got served because I am sure she must have been stretched, sorry. Sir.

I had a similar issue though not exactly the same. Had to do name change during NYSC for my BVN because they wouldn't release my alawee without it. I did NIN with husband's surname as well to be able to change the BVN. So currently my NIN and bank accts carry my husband's surname, but my passport has my own surname. I applied for PR with my own name which is still on my passport, and submitted a one and the same affidavit. I don't plan to change my name on my passport until I absolutely have to which will probably be when I need to renew my passport in a few years' time, since they will need to link it to my NIN (I would have preferred to continue using only my maiden name but apparently they won't remove husband's surname unless you're divorced )
My advice to you, if you haven't yet changed your name, go ahead with your maiden name and save yourself the stress. After you become a PR you can change if you like, at least it'll be at your leisure and you won't need to prove anything to anyone at the time.
If you decide you want to just change it now on your passport, then you can submit your affidavit of change of name as proof of your previous names and it will be fine.

I actually wanted to leave it that way but it has started affecting me in other aspects, and with the recent changes in Nigeria, the NIN is now required to update anything which technically means I will have to implement this name change across all government issued identification documents including bank.

For all those asking about the phone store. I bought it from Volt mobile phone store, you can google them up. By the way, I don't have any connection with the seller other than the very fast service I recieved considering all i went through with slot. They were recommended as verified dealer by Xiaomi facebook handle. They recommended pointec and slot and one raya like that. Please do your research and decide, be responsible for your decision.

My own point of this is that, organizations should stop advertising for products they don't have in stock, if you check slot website now, you will see the phone being advertised, you can imagine how many people are in my shoes right now.

When the person asks for his refund, they will tell him to hold on that refund takes 14 days and the phone is expected soon, the soon that keeps geeting sooner.

They must refund immediately

Now they have sent me a mail that I should still hold on, that they are expecting new orders before the end of the week and that refund will take upto 14 days. They are yet to answer me further after giving them my account details and reiterating that i have been crying for my refund since they failed to deliver after 3 days.
