Health / Saving Helpless Accident Victims.........our Contributions by spicyuzo(m): 12:47am On Dec 27, 2015
Good Evening fellow Nairalanders....

I read a topic on Fp "My Bitter Experience As A Doctor Today" and I was moved to tears...

https://www.nairaland.com/2824995/bitter-experience-doctor-today

For any reason whatsoever it could have been me, or a member of my family or even a loved one.
Truth be told, the scenario that played out isn't the first of its kind in our dear country, neither would it be the last. As unpleasant as it sounds, cases like this are reported in various hospitals across the nation frequently.

Reading through the post and replies on that thread, people busied themselves with accusations and counter-accusations, blames and sentiments of various kinds.
It is undeniable that we are all victims of the various ills and misfortunes associated with living in Nigeria, however it behooves on us as citizens instead of throwing blames, mudslinging and counting our woes, we should profer possible solutions to these problems....

On this ground, I propose the following suggestions to curb the issue of response by medics to victims of road accidents....

1. The FRSC should have an special intervention fund with which they can make necessary payments required to commence treatment for accident victims pending when family members of such victims show up.

Implications: a. This ensures that the FRSC is notified duly in case of a road mishap, and they can in turn convey this victims to hospitals, the medical team can commence immediate treatment knowing that it is on the account of the FRSC.

b. The burden and physiological trauma caused by such cases on the medical staff is alleviated, as in the case of the doctor that had to helplessly watch a victim die cos his hands were tied by protocol.

c. The FRSC as a paramilitary outfit can duly ensure that the funds are duly recovered from the family members when they identify rhe victim, a job that can not be done by the medical staff.

2. A group of philanthropists may opt to raise funds for such purposes as stated above and employ officials to disburse funds for such situations and also monitor the recovery of such patients, if possible create rapport with the police to ensure recovery of such funds from the families of the victims.

This will be an employment avenue, as such officials will ensure that accident victims are conveyed to hospitals and a certain amount of the bill is deposited to ensure that treatment commences.

As vague or abstract as my ideas may seem, I strongly believe that this can be a pointer to a better developed framework to help curtail the menace of death of accident victims as a result of pecuniary inadequacies.

What are your thoughts and suggestions?

Education / Re: Are You Having A Tough Time In Your Academics?? Read My Story by spicyuzo(m): 4:54pm On Dec 25, 2015
Today, I am currently in Canada on a graduate program fully funded by a Canadian university. Up till now, I am yet to spend a dime of myself in Canada because the scholarship covered everything. Guess what? I even got two scholarships from two different universities and just last week, I got another funding again. Yes just last week! What if I had committed suicide then? Would I have seen the goodness almighty God has packaged in my future today? What I am saying in essence is you can fall as much as possible but whenever you fall and refuse to rise again is when you failed. The righteous shall fall seven times.....but they shall rise again.

Conclusively, whatever the case maybe, dust up yourself and try again. Do not give up so easily because winners never quit and quitters never win. I am sure very soon you gonna look back and smile. Every successful man or woman at some point had a share of that gloomy period when you feel you are all alone and the world is about coming down on you. But I am happy to announce to you that alot of people have tread this same path and today they have become success and point of reference in the society. My brothers and sisters, it is never how far, but how well and tough time never lasts tough people do!!!!!!

This is the best inspirational piece I have read this year....
Thank you for making out time to write this, and thank you for giving us a compass in our soujourn of life.

MzNelly:
At first this was cute, now it's just getting annoying.

My story doesn't have suspense, it doesn't have this, it doesn't have that....

Mbok, you're here on your own volition.
It doesn't have that one thing you like so much, out, out, gerrarehere and let me breathe, ma fren'

I'm writing to entertain, not to win some grand prize.

No suspense?
No suspense, really?

I don't put blood and sweat into this just for someone that can't even string a bunch of sentences together properly to come and spit BS carelessly.

You'll see my next update when you see it...

You don't like something, leave.
Just leave and go and write your own story for a change... And make sure to put all the suspense you deem fit.

NNE, I'm really unhappy that you are sad about all the literature professors that read stories with a marking scheme......

Like you rightly stated in a post earlier, you are writing for entertainment purposes, and so far you are doing an extremely incredible job, in fact even with years of hard practice, I don't think I can match this skill painting beautiful and interesting scenarios in the minds of people using words.

I know my strength and I excel at it, I also never fail to appreciate others who excel at at their own endeavors.

For all I know, suspense should be felt and not expected, and I tell you reading this story gets all my senses agog.

I am happy and I derive satisfaction from reading this story and I think this is exactly what you intend to achieve..

I also encourage constructive criticism but within the scope of what this is, a well thought out story aimed at making us happy and not an international journal.

Fire it up MzNelly....
Kudos for your work so far.....

Just like an arrow, you had to be drawn to the lowest possible limit before you were shot to glory by the master archer (God).
My prayer for you is that God continues to furnish your life abundantly with goodness and his mercies.

And my prayer for me is that God grant me my portion of his graciousness that I may share an even better testimony my employment story in a few months time. Amen

Have a blast in the lord.

Jarus:

I have a friend that got his own feedback within 1 hour after the assessment. He told them he was considering another offer and wanted prompt feedback.

He had just left the SRD venue and was at the airport when he got the call.

They told him that was the best SRD performance they had seen in many years. He turned down their offer twice, asking for raise in the amount they offered him, it was after the second raise that they said they can't raise it again and he accepted.

That's for Shell US. He's a Nigerian, my childhood friend. He has PhD though. He was 29 then. He's been with Shell since then.

Someday, Someone shall tell a similar story like this about me, and I shall reminisce on this day in thanksgiving to God for making my dreams come true.

Thanks to you Mr. Jarus for your unflinching support to our course, may the good Lord continue to strengthen you immensely.

To what do we owe these calamities befalling our dearest nation....

Does it mean the fresh breath that comes with this administration of change does not appeal to these folks or did they outrightly block their nostrils with the intentions of choking on the bad breath the have inhaled all along?

I weep for the souls lost to this senselessness

Career / Re: Career Changes For Masters Without PGD, How Possible? by spicyuzo(m): 12:25am On Nov 05, 2015
@OP I think the kind of change you seek requires a PGD.

I'm certain that one can change between related fields such as from Electrical Engineering to say Info.Tech or Compt Science and the likes without a PGD , but a drastic change like the one you pointed out is a tough call and I think its a long shot.

In any case, I also want to believe that a sterling academic record in your present career field might somehow bend the rules in your favour.

Romance / Re: How I Allowed A Good Man To Slip Away From My Grasp. *in Tears* by spicyuzo(m): 1:06am On Aug 15, 2014
Liability: we had been dating for 2 years. He was everything i could ever wish for. The kind of man every lady wished to have, that love me, cherish me, make sure not to see tears roll from my eyes.

Samuel was a dream come true to me. But early this year, things started changing for us. I was carried away things of this world. I listened to friends advise and wanted to enjoy life the more.

I reduce the time i i use to visit him and spent it on the company of other guys. He had caught me several times and warned me of this new behaviour i had exhibited. I though i was smart enough. Samuel was truely a good man.

The last time samuel caught me sitting down with a a guy, he smiled and walked away, i knew i had bitten more than i can chew. I ran towards him and pretended i dont know wats happening. I asked him wats wrong, he said i am still doing things he doesnt like. I dont visit him anymore, i dont call him unless he calls. I even prevented him from visiting me. Despite all this samuel was patient enough to stay with me.

On this fateful day, he said what i was doing would lead me to a deep trouble, i thought he was joking. The next day samuel didnt call me. I too didnt call. It lingered till it got to 2 weeks no call from samuel. I said to myself samuel is the man therefore he should contact me. The next week was my birthday, no call from him, i had to send him text late aroud 9pm that my birthday was today.

He called with another number the next day and wished me well, i shed tears and told me he doesnt love me anymore. He just smiled on phone, wished me a happy birthday.

Till date, samuel has not contacted me. Its 3 months now and he is still not back to me. People told me he would come around but its seem unlikelt. His number is no longer going through. He had changed his location. Even his friends doesnt know where he is right now.

I allowed a good man to slip away from my fingers and now am regretting.

I wish i had known i wouldnt have treated him this way.

Its either this is a cooked-up folk tale,
Or u are simply not smart enough to determine when to make an important decision...

Why sulk now when just a few months ago you were foolhardy and happily basking in your self acclaimed sexiness...

I for one think you need some more experiences to properly drive home the lesson.

Long live your sexellency

Afterall, U are Sexy and u know it, so flaunt it
