Sports Writers Ass ociation of Nigeria
(SWAN) has frowned at the decision of the
Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to transport
members of the national U-17 team, the
Golden Eaglets to Niamey the capital of Niger
Republic by road.
The world champions are billed to leave the
shores of Nigeria today for Niger to take part
in the 2015 African U-17 championship which
will equally serve as qualifier for the FIFA
cadet championship slated for Chile later in
the year.
Secretary General of SWAN, Andrew Abba told
journalists yesterday in Abuja that the NFF
has no business taking the team to a zone
that has become notorious with activities of
the dreaded Boko Haram.
Abba wondered why the federation could not
take a proactive measure by flying the team
to Niamey to avoid any regrettable eventuality.
He said his body has already complained to
the NFF president, Amaju Pinnick to use his
good offices to address the situation ahead of
time.
The government of Niger Republic on Tuesday
announced a 15 day curfew in the villages
boadering Nigeria where the insurgents have

I feel bad for GMB. He should be resting at this point in his life. Advising younger leaders, etc. Not running for a job that can kill a young man. The interviewer really made things easy for him by initially asking questions that favoured him and his answers must have been disappointing to international viewers; his anti-corruption efforts won't be as drastic as they expect and his plan for boko haram is ... non-existent. His answer to the questions about his military rule were effective just because he doesn't look like someone people should be afraid of anymore. I feel sad.

campaign team. Its either they are talking
about GMB dying soon or about his late wife
or late daughter. They just love talking about
death. Why?

passed away after delivering a baby. Zulai
Buhari, who was 40 died from sickle cell
anaemia. Buhari lost a lovely daughter to
death on November 29, 2012 after battling
with sickle cell anaemia for 40 years! This is
what Goodluck Jonathan and PDP has turned
to campaign theme! Mocking the death of
Buhari’s daughter.
Not yet done with morbidity, they moved to
talk about Buhari’s late wife who died in
2006. The documentary mentioned how he
divorced his late wife and some other beer
parlour gist.
Is this the sort of campaign we should be
getting from an incumbent President when
economy is collapsing and exchange rate is
now out of control with $1 at N207?
Again, Muhammad Buhari has never referred
or attack President Jonathan’s family. He has
never said Dame is barren, he has never said
GEJ has children out of wedlock; he has
never blamed GEJ for bad drinking habit. He
only concentrates on issue based campaign!
Let campaign be issue based and enough of
attacking Buhari’s family.

It was just yesterday that I decided to go and
chill out in Mr Biggs when I saw one guy with
his babe enjoying themselves. Not too long, in
front of them was the waiter with the bill which
was about 20k.to my surprise the girl quickly
opened her purse brought out 21k, paid and
told the waiter to keep the change. After the
waiter had left the guy started asking her baby
why didn't you allow me to take care of the
bills.it was then the girl said something that
impressed me,she actually told the guy that she
is not after his money that the only thing she
needs from him is his love,care and attention.it
was then I just heard a voice ''cut cut cut
cut !!!!!! that was the director and right behind
me was the camera man it was then I said to
myself okeyyyyyy so na movie una they shoot,
no wonder !!!!!!! because the last time this kind

I have said it before and I will continue to say
and live by the fact that my ambition, and
indeed the ambition of anybody, is not worth
the blood of any Nigerian. Therefore, I urge all
