RTSC: Observers like the United States give directives especially to countries like Nigeria. They always have. And their directives are always in the interest of the elections. I have never seen any US directive in Nigeria that was detrimental to fair elections. In fact their presence is responsible for the fair elections in the first place, whether you like it or not.
The US was around when buhari defeated an incumbent president and won. What is the problem now?
Give me one thing the US has done in this election to really undermine your sovereignty? You want them to leave and allow buhari mess up everybody?
It won't happen. No Sir. No country has the right to give another sovereign country directives even if they are non-threatening. Maybe you missed it the first time, i will say it again, nobody is asking them to leave. Observe, monitor elections... Give your report afterwards and go. That's all Elections observers do. They are not to dictate. There are observers from all over the world. Only the sinister ones are trying to interfere. Observers are neutral... They observe and note down. I think here is where we differ. And will end the convo here. |

RTSC: But the Americans have always been here even while the opposition got in power. Why shouldn't they remain observers like they have all these years.? Anyway, you can't stop them. It is just hot air. Here, you mean their embassies and other diplomatic tinz? Of course. Nobody is stopping them from being observers. Observers don't give command over a sovereign nation and dictate to them... that's beyond their duty. And it isn't diplomacy either. It is undermining the independence and sovereignty of a nation to interfere like the way they were carrying themselves last week. Thank God they were shunned. Ever wondered why Americans themselves are not taking Russian interference in their elections likely? Americans are funny. You don't even know who they are working for. What they want is war so that they can get the oil. Nigerians should please be students of Global politics and not be gullible to their tactics. |

mycar: Why are they jittery? All America wants to do is to observe, if the government does not have any sinister motive why worry, is this the first election conducted, the kind of suffering and sanction that will hit Nigeria if APC wins will be more than imagine, the rudeness is just too much.
Even our visa policy will be reviewed, the worst is yet to come. Lol Americans and UK don't observe nada. They are anywhere for selfish interests. EU and Canadian observers are more objective. The US in particular always look to either change regimes, incite the populace, put themselves in strategic economic positions, and dictate to nations. Nigeria is a prime target. It doesn't matter who is in charge, APC or PDP. We must never leave a chance or a loophole for Americans to jump into. Our foreign minister has done well to protect Nigerian interest and that is what any minister, either PDP or APC, would do. Don't let us be the enemies of ourselves. |

Nairaobserver: Even the most hardened and cynical internet users seem to have been touched by this viral video of a Russian policeman helping a limping dog through the traffic. Dashcam videos typically capture scenes of brutal violence or spine-chilling accidents, but this particular one excels at triggering positive emotions, at least according to Russian YouTubers.
Footage that emerged online on Tuesday shows a stray dog standing on the side of the road in Chelyabinsk, Russia (1,783km east of Moscow) waiting for the chance to cross the street – somewhat desperately as cars continuously go by. The animal’s sorrowful anticipation grabbed the attention of a local traffic policeman, who left his car and stopped the traffic for the dog.
and despair will take over me,” the top-rated comment on Russian site Pikabu reads. “Today I believe in mankind!” one person wrote on YouTube. Many praised the policeman for showing compassion, though one commenter said he should have called animal control since the dog was limping and apparently injured.
One YouTube channel was so inspired by the policeman’s kindness that it even proposed launching a nationwide challenge aimed at helping homeless animals.
Stray dogs populate many Russian cities in significant numbers as animal shelters struggle keep up with demand. A 2018 Russian law prohibits the killing of animals and other forms of mistreatment, though cases of violence against street dogs and cats continue to surface in the news.

In other news, yes about 80% of Africans believe in juju, because it is indigenous to them, regardless of any Abrahamic religion they profess. Our movies are a testimony to that. Even on Naija Twitter, discuss are often on jazz. |

GreatResearcher: yes am not mentally ready for marriage that's why I opted for contract marriage. It is well. Since it is a short term thing, you need not worry much. You probably need to ensure your exit plan is intact and genuine without any trap from her end. And most importantly, include in your divorce plan the welfare of the child/ren you may be having. This should be no. 1 on that plan. The court or any adjudicator decides who has the custody of the children, but that doesn't you won't have access to the them if she has the custody. |

Oga, you are not mentally fit to marry yet. What is Deltans? This tribe... Is Delta a tribe? Delta is just a State. An administrative district. Most states have more than one tribes. By the way delta is the a term in geography used to describe the place a major river splits into many just as it is joining the ocean or sea or a bigger river. |

correctguy0900: Either A or B. Can't be both. Which wan u stand? We live in a mediocre country, so it's both. Over here, citizens generate their own power, do their own road, catch their own thieves. So, they've got to improvise doing what govt should ordinarily do. In other climes, citizens are satisfied that once camera captured the faces of criminals, and with the use of central database and fingerprints, the authorities would bring them to book accordingly. The least they do is to call the police if they have more info. But here, there are no such things. Even when criminals are caught, the police let them go... And the criminals come back harsher. So, you see why jungle justice is sadly justified here. Don't get me wrong, I'm not an advocate of jungle justice, just letting you see the rationale behind it. |
