The devaluation of the naira and the rapid decline in the currency was the nail in our coffins as Nigerians

if the devaluation hadn't happened
it won't be this bad

that's one
two
those who had most of their networth in USD
they did not feel the impact as much

three
those with "arrangee" POF
they are getting a raw deal
2021 set were really really lucky

I agree with these points.
Especially the last one lol
I'm '22, just before things changed drastically.

This came in today.
Nigerian students protesting in Teesside University.

This is the reality for most people now.
Do proper research before choosing a uni now, they're not taking it easy with foreign students as was that case just 12-18 months ago
Things changed quickly with the new policies.

His point is that government policies have changed. It has made sponsorship harder and more costly. Sponsorship means that companies will spend heavy hard currency on you paying health insurance for five years, visa fee, lawyer fee and govt levy, that's around 12,000£. The only exception is care where health insurance is free but it will cost them around 7000£ to sponsor you.

As a student, on student visa, the way forward is try get PSW (thank God they didn't remove it), find a good reputable company to work in and use the two years period to prove your worth. If they sponsor, fine. If they don't, find other EU countries or other countries that sponsor based on the work experience or use PhD route run grin

The sad truth, this isn't to discourage anyone at all, I always encourage people to leave naija, just have all the info before you come over
Things have really changed out here and people need to know the facts before making the journey to come over

Hi guys.
Please I need your input here.
So my sis recently got a refusal, and according to her, she mentioned half of the funds on the I-20 when asked about savings as that's what she had a hard copy proof of and the VO said she had to show all before handing over the blue paper and advising to reapply if circumstances changes.
The thing is she actually had the entire funds but in a separate fixed deposit account cos she thought she didn't need to show all that, so now that question is how do we prove to the VO that the lump sum had been available all the while?

And also, is it advisable to reapply after the 3 working days they like they said? (if she can get a date)
Or just defer and try getting it right next spring session?

Look forward to any helpful response to this.
Thanks.
Please, does anyone have an answer or suggestion regarding this my question.
Would really appreciate some feedback. Thanks.

I believe it is better to go to a public (federal or state) owned hospital. Better still just go to port health authority in the airport if you are in Lagos.

I'll let her know.
Thank you. Appreciate it.

Those who initiated October 27th were debited yesterday. You should be debited between today and tommorow. Make sure your account is funded.

So this UBA form A is taking an average of 6 weeks now. Give or take, yeah?
Ok

These agents are the worst.lol
He definitely knew dependants aren't allowed to use priority service. And besides premium lounge isn't £250!
Get your money back ASAP!

twiceinmay01:
Good morning house. Please I will like to know what PREMIUM LOUNGE is when filling the visa application form. My agent asked me to pay 500 pounds for my for my self and my wife priority visa which I’m the dependent, after he did the application and sent me the documents, I find out that he only paid 250 pound priority visa fee for only my wife which is the student, then when I asked him, he said there is no priority for dependent and he only applied for PREMIUM LOUNGE for me. My concern now is is there anything like Premium lounge and what is the price because he’s having extra 250 pounds with him now.

Have you tried to confirm this on your own? I tried to access the WU in NTU portal and £3,000 pounds was equivalent to 1.6m (around 1.5375m) which is somehow equivalent to the official rate. Though I paid through form A. It can be that high if there's a hidden charge. Try it and stop assuming!
This is facts!
No assumptions,
Can only pay with Dollar card , and who's going to sell dollar to you at official rate? grin
Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 8 by SpongeBobSP: 8:18pm On Sep 22, 2022
Oh, I see what you mean now.
It's basically form A Payment, cos banks will debit at #505-515./£
So how long did this take to get debited?, did it go through the normal ADB review... etc process, or it was fast like a WU transaction would be?
Mumibaby:

Let me explain in my own little way. Am actually going to Tesside.
So a link on d portal directed me to d payments options, I clicked on Western Union, and then choose GPB and the amount which is 4000, then i received the payment instruction on my mail.
Then on d Form A portal I used all the information western union sent to me...like sort code, bank address and others.
Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 8 by SpongeBobSP: 8:08pm On Sep 22, 2022
Got an offer from NTU for January and they do have WU global pay option, but someone from September intake said she paid with that method but at black market rate, cos you can only pay with dollar card, and how do you get the dollars? black market!
So it's really expensive
That's why I was shocked when Mumibaby said she got debited at 518/£.
Really want to understand the way she went about it.
efosakelly:

The problem is, it is not all schools that use western union world pay to receive their funds. this is only possible if your school use this payment processor. if your school use flywire or direct bank account for example, there is nothing you can do. other than to use the usual form A
Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 8 by SpongeBobSP: 3:15pm On Sep 22, 2022
Mumibaby:

I was debited at #518 per GPB
Thanks. But I think what everyone wants to know is HOW you did it. What's the procedure?
