To be candid with you your father is a short-sighted man because his perception of death at age 50 is so awkward. Many people have live till 80 and beyond and have left enduring legacies behind!!! So why should he be expecting death at age 50, thereby leaving his parental duties undone?
At 50, he should really be consolidating his energy on training his children educationally, providing for those who are still living in his house and are unemployed. With this, his memory will be cherished and will not really matter if he actually died at 50 or lived till 90! Maybe you need to talk to other family members to let your dad see reasons on why he shouldnt abdicate his parental responsibilities for a flimsy and unfounded excuses. The consequences of not doing his parental duties are grave and irreparable. And as a matter of urgency he should make efforts to contact your elder siblings who has left the house for a no destination and bring them back before they are negatively influenced outside.

It could be a challenge. At 21, I was driving Benz in Lagos with money made with my own sweat. Never collected school fees. The generation we have now want their parent to spoon feed them.

The truth is, there is no difference between Internet contractors and non-internet contractors interms of who will get the Job done and who wouldn't. The advice from your contractor is just based on hate and nothing else. How will he say contractors on the internet wouldn't be looking for Job on the internet if they are good and busy as a result? For crying out loud, make them no look for additional Job so they can grow? If a Nairaland contractor messes you up, so will he do if he wasn't a Nairalander. and so will he do if he wasn't from the Internet. I have had many guys here on Nairaland come work for me and messed my Job up. I have also had guys here on Nairaland work for me and did a Fantastic Job. likewise non-internet guys. The thing about the internet is that its easier to get clients and you can reach a broader network of client. Thats why we are here. its left for you to do your findings properly before you give a Job to someone. Not because he is from the internet or not.

What you should do when hiring wether from the internet or not is be wary of to good a deal. Dont look for the best deal interms of price. Look for the best deal interms of the job you are looking to get done, before you start thinking of the price that works.

You are one of the contractors that I have used on this Nairaland that is very good (That means I don't like cheap stuff ).

When something is too common, that is when generalization sets in. There are many graphic designers like Brabus turn Builders here.
I had spent millions fixing problems from Nairaland contractors than contractors that was introduced to me by acquittances.

When we give Nairaland contractors jobs, It is a gamble on a faceless forum. We are trusting you and many betrayed that trust. The probability of a contractor that was introduced by acquittances to dupe or do shoddy job is low because there must have been proven track records and relationships.

But here, I have had a rethink about giving job out through here. I do extreme due diligence now.

China produces over 40% of the electronic gadgets, mobile phones, etc America, Europe and Americas use today.

China just finished a train project that carries goods direct from China to Europe, including UK, and Europeans were so excited about it.

China has manufactured and launched their own national carrier; I mean their own aeroplane purely built by Chinese Engineers, not the one Rolls Royce and GE produces the engine for others, they built everything by themselves. 

China started their space mission in 2002, traveling to the moon from their soil with their own rocket and coming back without any crash or mishap, meanwhile UK, Germany, Japan, France, Italy, etc couldn't go to the moon despite their technological prowees but China did it.

So in the whole world today, we have only 3 countries that have traveled to the moon with their own national space craft and from their own soil, and they are:

1. USSR/Russia
2. ‎USA
3. China

China has developed more technologies that is helping the world today than Europe and America. In terms of military might, only America and Russia understand how mighty Chinese military power is and reason they can't start any war with China.
