Politics › Re: Who Is The Best President Nigeria Have Ever Have by spy24(m): 9:39am On Sep 28, 2023*. Modified: 11:21am On Sep 28, 2023 |
Based on my research and study on this issue, I'll rank them as follow,
ECONOMIC GROWTH. 1. Obasanjo 2. Yaradua 3. Jonathan Omo you never miss your water till you lose it, this men kept the country economically strong but we no rate them because they were not propaganda inclined.
INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT. 1. Yakubu Gowon Nobody comes close to Gowon in this area. The Lagos some people use in boasting today was mostly developed by Gowon, this include:
the first and second mainland bridges,
the national theatre,
national stadium Lagos,
road projects to different parts of the country,
he built the warri Kaduna and port Harcourt refinaries,
opened and built world-class federal universities according to the standards of that time including uniben my school, the best buildings you will find in this school were the ones he built..
Although many will not agree, Gowon restored the eastern regions losses during the war in the shortest possible time, atleast to a significant extent.. Omo the first time I researched about his administration I was really surprised and impressed
2. Badamosi Babangida.. Started the construction of Aso Rock and also gave us the third mainland bridge.
3. Mohammadu Buhari...
Tried in the area of transportation.. reconstruction of federal highways and airports across the country and rejuvenation of the Nigerian railways.
PEACE AND INTERNAL SECURITY. 1. Abacha 2. Abdusalam Abubakar 3. Buharis military regime.
MOST UNDERRATED PRESIDENT OR HEAD OF STATE. Gowon and Jonathan.
MOST OVERRATED PRESIDENT OR HEAD OF STATE. Abacha and Muritala
THE WORST HEADS OF STATE Shehu Shagari Ernest Shonekon(can't blame him, but he was just ineffective)
GOATS Tafawa Balewa, Nnamdi Azikiwe, Obafemi Awolowo And the sadurna of Sokoto, alhaji sir ahmedu bello
Nigerias youth of this internet age don't respect this men.. makes me laugh, until you are faced with same circumstances that they were faced with as early nation builders you'll never understand. Although it was mostly Azikiwe that had a national outlook to things in this era, you cannot take away the fact that what this men did in their respective regions are still benefiting thier people many years after their death
Ahmedu Bello, strategic north centric ideology seeing that the north was at a disadvantage when compared to the south, he built schools, employed northerners into the civil service in the north, even if they were not as qualified as their southern counterparts he still employed them, they must learn on the job.. this mentality helped the northerners to grow into governance even at the national level.
Awolowo. What more can be said, most if not everything the yorubas have today can be traced back to the foresightedness of Pa. Awolowo.. he built schools and gave his people free primary education. Despite being faced with federal opposition, he performed reasonably well, by sustaining the influence of Yorubas in the country.
As for the east, unfortunately for you guys and fortunately for the entire Nigeria, your patron had a nationalistic outlook to things back then.. from my research I even got to discover that Azikiwe supported Nigeria during the civil war, Azikiwe brought football to Nigeria, the NFF originated from Azikiwe. He remains the only leader in Nigeria that spoke Igbo Yoruba and Hausa fluently. He sought for the unity of the country more than any of the other founding fathers.
He revolutionized the West African newspaper industry, demonstrating that English-language journalism could be successful.
The man was not really concerned about putting Igbos in mainframe politics back then...
If you do proper research, you'll see that he's one of the chief reasons why we still have a country called Nigeria today, the man nor just believe in division at all. lol.. another major reason why Nigeria remained one country was the discovery of oil. I see zik as a father to Nigeria and I also understood why naming the airport in Abuja and putting him on the 500 naira note was not out of place.. If Awolowo and Belo were a bit like Azikiwe, the term Nigeria would have been more prominent than Igbo Yoruba and Hausa....
Whenever I pass through the independence tunnel in Maryland... And I see the pictures of these great men, I have nothing but respect and admiration for them for giving us a country to call our own. |

People are just giving judgement based on the videos they saw online, without knowing fully the complete story ofthe videos. Omo e no tire you ? This social media justice age is just wack. IVORY2009: No one is condemning the current state governor, what I am saying is the level of corruption in that state from the days of James Ibori till the last previous administration of Okowa, that state has no business to be poor, including it's citizens, where a commissioner steals 2 billion naira, then what about the governor. Who even gave you people this idea that Delta state is poor ? You people that don't travel will be sitting down in one corner of your small town and be typing rubbish... Delta state is amongst the most developed state in southern Nigeria if you don't know, it is a very big state and because of that towns and cities are not located close to major roads. Because ona dey see mosogar and ogharefe along road ona go just assume say na the whole state be that If you go to small towns in Delta like Sapele, Kwale or Ozoro.. you'll discover that this places are even more developed than some capital cities in southern Nigeria.. and the name of this places will not even appear in the list of top 5 places to stay in Delta... Delta state HDI is really high for Nigeria standard.. almost everybody in that State can read and write.. including old people.. and poverty is not rife in the State Omo make ona no dey cap nonsense abeg.. it's just stereotypical.. |

Mindlog: Fact is that OP is his younger brother, assisting him while he is still carving out his own path in life with food and the occasional transport fare is not out of place. When he starts earning something from the phone repairs he is learning, then he can contribute.
In the future when they are both married and this present issue becomes the root of their acrimonious relationship, na wife whey no know how the problem take start na im dey go dey blame for causing disunity between brothers. Omo, the response I am seeing on this thread are terrible... Somebody that is easily swayed by opinions may come here and see this and think that the senior brother is doing nothing wrong. And begin to imbibe all this their poverty/sapa induced mentality A stranger is not supposed to be treated the op is being treated, not to talk of family.. and yes siblings are responsible for the wellbeing of their younger ones.. |

BoldBrainz: This is not me endorsing or supporting Obaseki's display of outright wickedness, but if there's one thing you don't want to do as a person, it's to deeply offend a core and unempathic Niger Deltan!
Like the fulanis, we don't forgive or forget. That we often tend to be quiet in the face of provocations (unlike our brothers in the East), doesn't make us weak. We pick our battles wisely.
Nyesom Wike is the only Southerner to openly fight a Fulani man and his kin in recent Nigerian history and get away with it. The records are there for you to check. This one just dey talk off point |

Nonny95: Student Loan. ❌ Subsidy Removal. ❌ Distribution of Palliatives. ❌ Afrexim Bank $3 billion loan. ❌ Rate Unification (Naira Float). ❌
Not a single Policy has worked, except the duplication of MC Uluomo’s Lagos Template in Abuja.
Why is it so? Has Tinubu lost track or we we should continue waiting and gnashing teeth? Truth be told. Only peter obi gave a simple and valid solution to Nigerias economic woes.. Until Nigeria moves to a producing nation.. everything will remain the same. It is simple economics |

LordGuru1: From forcing his People on every stratas and sections of Leadership to trying to Use RUGA Law to Hijack the indigenous Fatherlands and Ancestral Homelands of Nigerians for his People being massively imported into Nigeria from other Countries, coupled with intentional Silence as Nigerians were being unprecedentedly massacred Nationally on their Farmlands, in Villages, Homes, it is unarguable that Nigeria witnessed the most heartlessly Nepotistic Presidency ever under Buhari.
But as for Goodluck Azikiwe Jonathan blatant Nepotism(some say he was pocketed and his Government was hijacked), it was epidemic in all sections of Leadership too. To clearly remind ourselves what happened in all Ministries during Jonathan era, let's use Ministry of Finance under Okonjo-Iweala as example IN CASE YOU MISSED…
This was how Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Jonathan’s Minister of Finance, then thought it fit, to arrange Nigeria’s finance sector. - 1] Central Bank, Governor – Godwin Emefiele - Ibo 2] Central Bank, Deputy Governor – Okwu Nnana - Delta-Ibo
2] AMCON, DG - Chike Obi – Ibo
3] Securities & Exchange Commission, DG - Arunma Oteh - Ibo
4] Nigerian Stock Exchange, DG - Oscar Onyeama - Ibo
5] Securities and Investment Tribunal, DG - Ngozi Chianakwalam - Ibo
6] Sovereign Wealth Fund, DG - Uche Orji - Ibo
7] NAICOM - Chibudum Nwuche - Ibo
8] Chief Economic Adviser to the President, Nwanze Okidegbe - Ibo 9] Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, CEO - Jim Obazee - Ibo
10] Pencom, DG - Chinelo Amazu – Ibo
11] Budget Office, DG - Bright Okogu – Ibo

George Udom Lies First off Jonathan is from the south south, how many South South names are in that list Secondly, because NOI is Igbo, you tried to make it look like she was the one that made the appointments.. which is not true. Thirdly PDP ran a very nationalistic government in it's 16 years in power I'm sure that if you pull out a complete data of all Jonathans appointments you will see a fair representation of all ethnic nationality Not this madness that Buhari and now Tinubu is exhibiting |
