I have done my own research

What I can confidently say anywhere is that between awo,zik and Belo...

Zik is the true father of this country.. the other 2 were very regional.... Zik even sided Nigeria over Biafra during the war.. he was the only one amongst the 3 that had a nationalistic outlook to events of that time, not even balewa.

and he remains the only Nigerian leader at that time to speak ibo Hausa and Yoruba fluently

Banter aside. just research you'll see it

The first match Nigeria played as a country was organized by Azikiwe giving rise to the NFF that we see today

Buhari agenda with that former Niger president has been put up in flames by the junta

I have a feeling that Buhari is behind tinubus push for an intervention.... Buhari no longer have a second country and the yeye diplomatic ties that the northern dominated government has build in the last administration with Niger has all gone up in smoke.... Now they'll know that na Nigeria be their home...

The real issue with fighting with Niger though is the IDP situation it will raise and the influx of terrorist sect into Nigeria will triple

I get you peoples point and you people may also be right but there is a fallacy in this assumption

There's a possibility that there are people missing somewhere right now. But they don't know that they died in the incident.

What I strongly doubt though is that there was a "massacre" if people died at that tollgate that day Dem no reach ten.. all this claim that many people died no add up

Going by those metrics even, I can comfortably name you no less than seven states that are more developed than Delta. This is not to however, undermine what progress the riverine state has made in the last decade.

You have to travel some more.

Go to cities like Kaduna, Abeokuta. Of course it is unarguable that Delta is more developed than Bayelsa, but insinuating that Asaba ranks ahead of Kaduna in development, is just funny.
I'm not talking about capital cities I'm talking about entire states.. if you go to some villages in delta you'd wonder why the place is called a village when it looks nothing like a village.. delta states have more than 4 cities that are thriving, Asaba, Warri, agbor, Ughelli, Sapele. This places are not just small towns but cities with commercial activities and high standard of living In Nigeria standard..

And you cannot compare Abeokuta to Asaba, Asaba is way ahead..

SmartPolician:
Akwa Ibom spends so much on infrastructure and needs to start lifting its people out of poverty. Yes, infrastructure is good, but when you empower people, they can build their infrastructure.

BTW, what are Delta and Bayelsa States doing with all the money they receive? Despite all the allocations they receive, they cannot build decent capital cities? Money is good, but judicious use of money is more important.
Stop spewing trash if you never travel, Asaba should be amongst the top 5 best capital cities in Nigeria

Don't ever compare delta to bayelsa and I put it to you that aside from Lagos rivers and Kano Delta state is the next developed state in Nigeria

Abia State oil production is unusually low. Even Imo State too. I hope they're not manipulating these figures.

Meanwhile, what happened to Lagos after all the noise? You guys think taping crude oil from West African pipeline will make you oil producing state.
There is no manipulation anything
No be everything be manipulation and there's a difference between crude oil and natural gas

Where you people power lies is in natural gas not crude oil

All of the people who commented above are very ignorant apart from you perhaps.

Though you are sensible in your opinion of which I agree completely with you.

The importance of the rail line to Niger cannot be overemphasized considering the fact that Niger is a landlocked country all of their imports will be routed through Nigeria to the seaport in Lagos.

Niger travelled all the way to Benin Republic for all their imports and exports. The cost to Niger is high compared to when a good rail network is available through Nigeria to Lagos seaport.

The goods will further go up North Africa.

Therefore the project is a massive gain to Nigeria.

I'm from South South precisely Rivers State so you wouldn't bring in the ethnic thing.
Lamba!

How many massive gains have trading with Niger brought to Benin republic ?

This project is a huge security risk to Nigeria, this train route will be used to smuggle scarce resources from Nigeria and also import extremist into the country

How ever you look at it this project is all wrong!!

I still don't understand how the legislative arm sat and allow Buhari to go ahead with this senseless project...

How can you help another country to build rail, and Niger is a volatile region. This will only aid the importation of bad element from neighboring countries into Nigeria
