Amoto94: Bismillah
In the year 2020, upon completing the memorization of Kutub Sittah, I was overtaken by a desire to compose a poem to extol the boundless grace of Allah, to express sincere gratitude to my venerable Sheikhs; Sheikh Sulayman, Sheikh Genrada(May Allah forgive his soul), Sheikh Abu Hafs, and to modestly acknowledge my own perseverance and toil in the path of hadith.
In preparation for this, I sought to deepen my knowledge about the compilers of the 6 canonical works: Imam Bukhari, Imam Muslim, Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, Nasaaiyy, and Ibn Majah.
To my astonishment, I discovered that every one of these luminaries, from Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim to the remaining 4 were non-arabs. None of them hailed from the noble tribes of Arabia, yet they rose to preserve the very heart of the Sunnah for posterity.
It was at that moment the reality of Allah’s words became clear:
وَإِن تَتَوَلَّوْا يَسْتَبْدِلْ قَوْمًا غَيْرَكُمْ ثُمَّ لَا يَكُونُوا أَمْثَالَكُمْ
“And if you turn away, He will replace you with another people; then they will not be the likes of you.”
If the Arabs were to turn aside, or become deluded into imagining themselves inherently privileged, Allah could and did raise others, from distant lands and foreign tongues, to safeguard and disseminate His religion.
This realization shattered the illusion of any racial custodianship over Islam. It is not by lineage, language, or geography that one becomes a guardian of this faith, but solely through devotion, striving, and piety.
This truth is corroborated by the timeless saying of the Prophet, narrated by Jaabir bn Abdillah:
يا أيها الناس إن ربكم واحد ألا لا فضل لعربي على عجمي ولا لعجمي على عربي ولا لأحمر على أسود ولا لأسود على أحمر إلا بالتقوى إن أكرمكم عند الله اتقاكم
“O people, indeed your Lord is One. There is no superiority for an Arab over a non-Arab, nor for a non-Arab over an Arab, nor for a white over a black, nor for a black over a white, except through piety. Indeed, the most honored of you in the sight of Allah is the most God-fearing of you.”
Thus, the legacy of the Kutub Sittah stands as an eternal testimony that Islam transcends ethnicity and geography, affirming that honor lies not in ancestry but in taqwa.
So if any donkey thinks non-arabs learn the religion from them, they are drinking soar zobo from their Dubur. Jibreel Jokomba But we will still go to Mecca for pilgrimage and it's mandatory? |

Whatever Gyokeres did last season was done last season with a different team not us. Na u dey set am up for drags shaa, but fortunately for some of us, we understand the phase he's currently at. He even made it clear in his last interview that he is yet to fully settle and understand the game and other players around him. As it stands now, Kai has 32 g/a in 61 epl games, so would you mind telling me how that represents being ranked bottom. That's the issue. Theflint1: You fit do the complete breakdown of how this works? The court cases often favours the landlord. In fact I haven't seen a case where the tenant wins unless the landlord didn't follow due process and engaged in self help So the tenent lawyers main aim is to delay proceedings and buy time for their client. Once that is achieved or more time is no longer possible, they will ask the tenant to pack out before the matter is decided whether in their favour or not. So as a landlord you want to avoid that. |

raumdeuter: Maybe you have plugs with the courts and good lawyers
Think of how much to pay lawyers then go back and forth to court because of how much? Outside Lagos is the yearly rent even up to 500k? In some places the yearly rent is 300k yet you dey go court, hire lawyer while the process still takes months
It can be exhausting Actually I do the court processes myself until it gets to hearing which is very rare like I said. These court processes run concurrently with the rent before it expires. |

raumdeuter: Fantastic way to kill real estate investment. Olowunnl i remember you wanted to do real estate investment in Lagos, Is this what you would be dealing with?
Imagine the ordeal landlords will have to go through to evict a tenant who refuse to pay.
Most abroadians will realize that hoping to get anything significant from residential homes investment in Naija is a pipe dream.
There are certain states in the US too that model these laws in a bid to protect renters end up screwing landlords and potential investors
In some states you cant evict anyone with a child because they want to protect the child. While it sounds nice, it ends up screwing the owners and the owner will just refuse to rent to anyone with a child going forward. Or Mandani who wants to freeze rents without discussing how to stop mortgages from rising Apart from the criminalisation, the law isn't really a new one just that it is not being implemented or enforced. Besides a good landlord lawyer will argue that the tenancy is dissolved the day the rent expires. So the law can only apply when the rent is still active. I usually issue notices through court orders 6 to 3 months before the tenancy expires. This allows me to run the court cases while the tenancy is still running. 9 out of 10 times the lawyer to my tenant advised them to look for other accommodation |

This has been brewing since last season but we continued to pray but e be like say that Odegaard isn’t coming back. Injuries can take its toll on players psychologically. It has even affected Saka. With more game time their confidence will return. |

Fkforyou: No, I disagree.
That scenario was purely on Odegaard. It was suppose to be a one time pass, but Odegaard held on too long making Gyokeres confused on where he wanted to lay the pass.
Seeing the fact that Gyokeres had changed position, Saka was the next best to pass to. You can make a case for the bolded and I agree. I have already stated that he really intended to give Gyokeres the ball for obvious reasons. It's there in his body language. But as for the pass, Odegaard was right to hold on to the ball until a defender is pulled out of position, Gyokeres was initially making the right run outside right diagonally, had he stayed on course he would have received the ball without pressure and have the time and space to shoot. He changed direction and that led to the over weighted pass. If you're a player you will understand how a split second can change a decision |

Gabzy1: We didn't play quite well in yesterday's 0-1 win away at Everton. We barely created enough chances from open play, The result absolutely spared our blushes, as Everton had their moments in the second half with that controversial non-penalty call.
The criticism on Zubimendi and Odegaard have been spot on. Zubimendi and Odegaard play too safe, None of them have the ability to carry the ball through the midfield apart from Rice.
The stats from yesterday showed how shocking our lack of individual penetration was.
Saka completed 4 successful dribbles while Odegaard, Trossard, and Martinelli all had zero. We dominated possession but couldn't beat markers 1v1 or progress the ball fast enough in the final third.
This is exactly why we'll keep struggling to break down low block. Only Saka can't be our attacking threat.
That's also why I've been hesitant to blame Gyokeres. Yes, he has his flaws but the bigger systemic issue is the lack of space creation around him.
Without more dribbling threat, carries from midfield like Rice occasionally does or wingers beating their man consistently, he will keep on feeding on scraps against packed defenses.
Better creativity and penetration would give him and the whole attack more room to thrive. Gyokeres is playing alongside better players than he had at Sporting. So whatever excuse we want to make for him about quality of passes doesn't hold for me. He is playing in a better league and so the initial challenges of adaptation will be there. What he needs now to improve himself is to find a way to eavde markers. He is a striker, the first thing a striker must do is to get away from markers and make himself available for that incisive pass to finish the goal. There was a case where Odegaard was attacking with the ball with Saka and Gyokeres besides him, he wanted to give Gyokeres that ball and he did, but Gyokeres changed the direction of his run which made it difficult for him to receive the pass cleanly. For now we just have to be patient |

BlueRayDick: Attack will cook once Arteta figures out when and how to use Gyokeres/Jesus/Merino , Eze/Odegaard and Trossard/Madueke/Martinelli. As for Saka, there's actually no one that can bench him in the squad except in cup matches. Arteta doesn't know his best eleven yet |

mostob: On Zubimendi and Rice being overworked..
1. It could be due to fatigue. Zubimendi rarely partakes in full training nowadays just to manage his load.
2. Arsenal with Gabriel at the back is a different team. Our defence has become weaker in the last couple of weeks so Rice staying back to cover the defence is understandable. With Saliba at the back yesterday, Rice was able to venture forward a bit (the pass to Trossard and a shot at the edge of the box). Even Zubimendi did hit the post from the edge of the box as well. You tend to take more risk when you're assured there's a 'rock' at the back.
We should be more concerned about the attackers and Odegaard especially. You make a good point too |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Spy360(m): 3:50pm On Dec 21, 2025 |
Roland17: Exactly!
Thank you for adding the Calafiori angle. Whenever Calafiori starts, he starts inverting from the opponents half of the LAM, before finding his way into the edge, which means Rice remains behind to provide that cover.
In contrast, MLS inverts from the DM/DLP position. He is able to progress possession with the ball. It alap provides cover for Zubi so that Rice can go forward. All of these adjustments are to accommodate Zubi and ensure Rice isn’t straying too far from Zubi’s press/ possession triangle.
He really needs to let loose and help our offense move faster. This season, the few times Rice has gone forward, he is racing back as fast as he can to keep the shape with Zubi. We all know how lethal Rice is around the danger zones. Coming into this season, we all agreed he needs to be around those zones more. With Zubi and Rice sitting back, our ball progression stagnates.
Infact there have been moments where I have seen Odegaard come back to start possession with Zubi and Rice also staying deep. How the hell are we supposed to move the ball then? I understand this is difficult for Arteta and that is why I am blaming Zubi because he is making the tactics difficult for Arteta to execute. Zubi is supposed to be able to break the press as a lone midfielder with a back three to allow Rice and Odegaard attack the final third. He is struggling to do that and it's making our attack transition too slow, cautious, and regulated. I hope he can brush himself up or may be he needs Gabriel on his side |

Roland17: Zubimendi needs to do more for this team. He has been playing basic football for a while now. He doesn’t do enough with progressing the ball from the back despite numerous instances where he receives the ball first from the goalkeeper. Even when we progress and he receives the ball, he looks to pass back or sideways. When he receives the ball, Rice is still sitting deep.
Defensively, I am seeing Rice sitting back quite a bit more than usual to support Zubi. I rarely see him in dangerous areas like we are used to and that is because we are exposed if Rice isn’t around the same press area as Zubi. Rice doesn’t press ahead of Zubi because if he gets beat, we are toast. Tactically, Arteta is having to employ zonal marking more than we should because it keeps Rice around the same Triangle as Zubi.
We need more from Zubi to help out overall play. I concur with your observation. Zubi is basicallly playing football. He needs to add some danger in his game. Last season Rice used to invert into the LAM position where he is a threat, but that role has been given to Calafiori instead. I think it makes us tactically weaker. For example, being left footed Calafiori cannot shoot easily from that position outside the box. I'd prefer he inverts into DM rather than LAM. |
