I don't recall calling Arteta a god coach since yesterday. All I said was our players also fumbled, most especially Partey and Lokonga. Even Odegaard didn't have a good game but it was Arteta's fault playing him out of position.

No matter a bad a coach is , it shouldn’t stop us from pointing out players who performed woeful too. Las las No be coach go come field play the ball himself Na .
The errors made by Lokonga and Partey were forced errors due to tactical ineptitude displayed by the coach. Imagine Partey being dispossessed?
We have enough quality and rest time to make at least the top six in England. If Arteta is not sacked as soon as possible, salvaging the season will become more difficult.

Now this is something I can relate with, not the so-called "we parked the bus" narrative being propagated here since yesternight. This is a more broadening view about the match.

Crystal palace ensured they put us in a position to defend more Than to attack, not that we surrendered attack to defend and chose defence instead.

We already know Arteta is more pro-defence than pro-attack. He wants to build the ball from the back but some of his personnel obviously just seem to know how to do it well thereby losing the ball in dangerous areas. I blame Arteta for not being able to use the personnel at his disposal as best as he ought to use them tho.
Exactly my point. Arteta needs to leave as soon as possible.

If we didn't want to score we won't have two more shots on target after the goal in the 8th minute. Now explain this to me. How did that translate to parking the bus?

One thing about me is I try to be as objective as much as I can and I try to look for facts to back things up. You have not provided any evidence to show we parked the bus in that Match, it's just talks and perception here and there.
It's not like we parked the bus but that we were pressured into defending when we should be dominating the game.

Even when u do all the bold part of my post right, u could still lose a match.

My point is the team I watched yesterday is an improvement from what I've been seeing in the past. They kept on pushing and pushing and pushing till the last minute. They had intent and they backed it up with purposeful football.

Maybe Arteta is not the best man for the job, but I can't just keep lamenting about him every match day when I know the board is not going to sack him anytime soon. I will enjoy the good games and critique the bad ones......and I will also call out the bad players too, not just the coach alone when things go south. Today it was Partey and Lokonga that nearly thwarted the efforts of the rest of the team, bar their "mustafi-que" showings we should've had a decent outing.
There's a reason both Partey and Lokonga made similar errors leading to goals. Ask why. Ask the manager. Even if you play Xhaka there, the same mistakes will happen.

Arteta's formation and tactics killed the vibes. I hope we get another manager because I am done with what Arteta is dishing to us.

That's what I was thinking also, instead of playing Odegaard at CM, why not play Elneny at DM then Partey at Cm?

Unpopular opinion, MO Elneny should be the natural replacement for Xhaka. He never looses the ball at the base of the midfield, though he is criticized for making too many safe passes instead of playing vertically but I will take those safe passes than the Sambi and Partey like turn overs leading to goals.
Recall Elneny vs Man utd at Old Trafford last season? Arteta must find a way to bring him back from cold.
If Elneny was in that setup he will do worse. There's a reason both midfielders made similar errors in the same match. Once one is isolated and pressed, errors abound. The fault is on Arteta. Poor tactics. He should have either paired Partey with any of Sambi, AMN or Elneny or played a single pivot and push Ødegaard into AM position.

Secondly, Saka was a waste at LW. We have Martinelli and Lacazette to pick from, why play Saka LW? Saka and Pepe should be vying for the RW position or better still play Pepe nearer to Aubameyang.

Nonsense coaching.

My thoughts on the game

1... We can't break or dominate teams who are good at pressing esp pressing from the front. Arteta haven't drilled this guys how to do quick passes and positional discipline to avert good press reason why we're making mistakes. We're just done for from good pressing teams

2.. Our passes and transitional play is damn poor and slow. I mean once we have a counter, the first thing we do set the tone and build the counter is not quick forward passes or running with the ball, instead the first thing we do is passing back. Like we pass back to our own half even wen we're on the ascendency to attack. Mehn, who does that?. Worst part is that it's laborious and slow.

3... I've been saying it times without number, we need a winger that can beat a defender. Pepe have proven he's not effective at such while Saka best wing is Pepe's wing. Aside the buildup to Auba's goal and the last minute cross that lead to the equaliser, I don't see anything noteworthy Pepe did. More so, martinelli reminded us the urgency we needed in our play cos he seems to be the only one who's fast with the ball.

4... Maybe what davep says is right. Just like pogba, partey needs xhaka to unlock him. Maybe both Xhaka and partey has each other's key to unlock themselves grin. Like the only match which we've dominated at least an entire half is just the Spurs game and that's the only game in which Partey and Xhaka started together this season.
You will offer me an unreserved apology for your no4. undecided

Patrick has done more for Palace in 4months that this Mr Builder of Burj Khalifa in 2years. They are even compact on the counter without Zaha. Can same be said for Arsenal without keymen such as Saka, Auba, Tierney?

That Midfield may suffer till season's end. It looks inevitable. They don't know how to interrupt opponents flow. And when in control, they cant break lines.
Our team is disjointed and the earlier we let Arteta go the better as it stands now.

Conte is there waiting.

Odegaard is no starter. Especially against an energetic team. The dispossessions tonight is a big cause for big worrying. Especially as it leads to a stroll straight at Ramsdale with virtually no interception.

Ndidi>>>>>>Partey
It's on Arteta. Playing Odegaard in CM is a very poor idea. Our midfield should be either Partey alone with Martinelli, Ødegaard, ESR and Saka or Partey with Lokonga. Odegaard in CM was a very poor decision.

As per the bold. Everyone has a price. But we only have very few people that can buy out SK.

I think what can motivate SK to sell easily will be when Arsenal is returning loses, in which case everyone will cry 1st.
By the time he can no longer compete with the likes of Newcastle and Leicester, (leaving the big six aside) he will either invest or be thrown out of business.

Just as the model of football club ownership over the years changed from a leisure, to a charity endeavour, to a business and now a pet grin SK will one day have to let go.

Everyone is regretting now but all saw what was coming yet fell for it. That's my point. SK is a better dealer than Usmanov.

Not Exactly Spy.

It was Dein that dumped SK to bring Usmanov. That was after many of the board shareholders swore not to deal with SK, only for them to go back to SK after Dein brought Usmanov and sold his shares to him. They needed a moneybag that can give them good value for their shares, since they don't wanna sell to whoever favours Dein, hence they have to go back to SK since he was the ready and willing other rich guy.

It is a case of "A friend of my enemy is my enemy" - Usmanov and "An enemy of my enemy is my friend" - SK. SK had become Dein's enemy since Dein dumped him for Usmanov.

See the quiet and slow one is SK, no knew his mind or intentions but everyone knew where Usmanov stands and his plans. But the odds later favour SK.

These things happen in the board room where the most aggressive and qualified wouldn't win, but the odds will favour the weaker one. Even the scriptures says "The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise, or wealth to the brilliant, or favor to the learned; but time and chance happen to them all."

So let's not blame Usmanov or think he was slow or not aggressive or doesn't know how to win. Let's just submit that the odds didn't favour Usmanov and time and chance didn't happen to him...he came at the wrong season and through the wrong channel.

In all, Arsenal and the fans are the one suffering it more. Usmanov had collected his money and moved on...but we are stuck with a Business minded owner and incompetent board.
You are still making excuses. We will only be going back and forth with this. We are just repeating stories of inside politics that remain sketchy and that happens everywhere. Any excuse for Usmanov won't cut it for me.

Both men scrambled for shares. Fact.
Some sold to SK, some to AU. Fact.
They both had first option in the remaining shares after both became major shareholders. Fact.
Board members didn't like both of them for various reasons. Fact.

However SK convinced most to sell to him is inconsequential. The end justifies the means.

Question for all.
Tell me does Kroenke have a price?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Spy360(m): 9:25am On Oct 14, 2021
ObaIgwe1:
I don't know how to explain this so you can understand.

What happened to Usmanov is plainly boardroom politics of "bad-belle". Not that Usmanov was not willing or aggressive to takeover Arsenal.

I think SK should thank Dein for his fortune. It is a case of few of highly rated shareholders are hell bent on going the opposite direction of Dein. When Dein first brought SK, they all rejected him, called him all sorts of names and swore never to sell to him. Then Dein was removed, and he decided to bring Usmanov thinking 1, he would be more acceptable to the board and capable of taking over Arsenal. And 2, When Usmanov take over, he will be brought back to Arsenal and the board to continue what he loved doing. On that note he sold his shares to Usmanov.

As at of this time both SK and Usmanov were at par to taking over.

But the board was wiser (actually more foolish) they saw what Dein was after and refused to sell to Usmanov, rather went back to their vomit and welcomed SK, brought him to the board and from there the American quietly started buying them off. Usmanov had no chance because he was dealing with 2 main shareholders (Nina Smith and Fiszman) who will never sell to him no matter his offer....maybe for their hatred for Dein who they never wanted back at Arsenal. These two actually handed over Arsenal to SK.

When Usmanov saw he had no chance especially after his 1billion offer to SK was rejected, he sold off his shares to SK cos it doesn't worth keeping them after so many years wait. Remember he was NEVER made a part of Arsenal board.

Today they all regretted selling to SK. which means it was politics of "bad-belle" that made then sell to SK. I will blame Nina and Fiszman with Wenger for Arsenal misfortune. Nina and Fiszman hatred for Dein and Wenger hatred for Usmanov, because Usmanov was heavily criticizing Wenger and the board after Dein left. Usmanov was against selling some of our key players and wanted Arsenal go the way of Chelsea which was a threat to Wenger's position then. That gang-up was what stopped Usmanov and not that he was slow or unwilling.
What you have stated here is as accurate as it can be, a story of how it all played out. But you can't give any excuses for Usmanov.

I accept that Dein was a problem to the rest of the board. But didn't Usmanov know when he associated with him? If he really wanted to take over he could have gotten rid of Dein just as SK did and negotiate personally with the members? SK came with bags load of cash, and Usmanov was watching him woo everyone until he got a majority stake. There's politics every where so if he failed he shouldn't blame the politics but himself for not handling it well.

This is where Blueray and Jodera have to agree with me.

These things are just assumptions u make up in ur head and u have come to believe them. Where did u read Usmanov was star gazing ?

This is the problem I do have with u at times, u just can't let go of that ur initial believe despite reading the full article and seeing nowhere Usmanov was indicted rather he was portrayed as somenone who most of the board members had a disdain for. Even David Dein that brought him on abandoned him and went for the non-soccer-loving American.

Dis u read this part of the article?

Where u get this idea of Usmanov star gazing I will never know. Even after the board members that vowed never to sell their shares started selling to Kroenke, Usmanov due to the love he had for the game offered silent stan 1billion Pounds to rescue the club from the American Shylock yet he was rebuffed and ended up selling his shares after he grew tired of watching on the sidelines.

I will never agree with the idea of blaming Usmanov when its obvious the board felt comfortable selling to the American than the Russian Oligarch.
What was Usmanov doing when Kroenke was convincing others to sell to him? If he had one billion what stopped him from raking up shares before Kroenke. Do not be fooled, though he loved the club but Usmanov was not as convinced into sole ownership like Kroenke and that's why he succumbed to selling his own part to him.

You are being too sentimental about this issue by backing Usmanov) and so find it difficult to to see the real picture.

The following screenshots are from Wikipedia, Arsedevils and Daily Cannon respectively (in no chronological order). Try to see beyond sentiments- the real picture.

They all sold to Kroenke because he offered more money , grin grin grin this is so simple to see.
