BlueRayDick: What comparison do u want me to do ?
How many goals did Leno mistakenly let in last season ? .... How many games did we lose last season and we all come here to moan it was Leno’s fault ?
U see most arsenal fans are just emotional when it comes to Martinez and I understand it perfectly well. It hits real good when u see a player u sold doing perfectly well in his new club , but my point is ; did Leno prove to be a bad choice ? Obviously No!
U guys are making it seem like we kept kepa and sold Becker Allison of some sort . We all know that’s not true, I’ve said it times without numbers that both Martinez and Leno are good keepers, obviously we couldn’t afford to keep both happy in the same team and a decision was made. That’s the kind of decision one has to make when u get to top management level . I agree with you. Most of the errors made by Leno were induced by the managers insistence that he should almost always play out from the back, some thing Martinez is not subjected to at Villa. Take that away, we have a very good goal keeper. Arteta knows this and will never question Leno's ability. |

*Here is why selling Willock is a bad idea.* This is our present squad which is bloated. Gk- Leno, Okonkwo (2) Def- Bellerin, Chambers, Cedric, Tierney, Taveres, Kolasinac, Holding, White, Gabriel, Mari (10) Mid- Xhaka, Partey, Lokonga, Elneny, AMN, Torriera, Willock, Azeez, ESR (9) Att- Aubameyang, Lacazette, Nketiah, Balogun, Saka, Pepe, Martinelli, Nelson ( A balance squad should have 3goalies, 8defenders, 7midfielders and 7attackers. To make our squad balance we need a goalie and an AM. We also need to offload two defenders (a RB and a LB), three midfielders (all CMs), and an attacker. But we must be keeping our younger players as squad players to improve their value so that it's the older ones that should be leaving. They are, Bellerin or Cedric, Kolasinac, Elneny, Torriera, and AMN. Nelson who is the lowest in pecking order of attackers could be sent on loan after a contract extension otherwise he should be sold. We have no reason to sell Willock as there are many uselessness that could be offloaded. This is not a time to make profit but to balance the team. This balance will go a long way in preparing the squad for Europe next season (if we qualify and we should) and also improve the value of our younger players before finally offloading those that do not meet the objective whenever they turn 24 (eg AMN) |

ObaIgwe1: I don't know why I am not excited with this. I hope we don't regret this sale like that of Martinez. Willock might just explode next season with value worth more than even Maddison.
For now, I rate Madison more than Willock definitely... but for the records.. both scored the same amount of goals last season, but Willock started in much fewer games than Maddison. We have no idea what we will get next season.
Anyway, it's Arteta's call. He will get the biggest stick if things go wrong. Don't worry, just relax. Even if Willock blow, no problem. Fact is, he wouldn't blow if he stays with us. I think he should move to where he is more appreciated and where he can get game time. |

kokaneprodigy: I miss the good old Arsenal, that’s the Arsenal I want to see, not this drab that can’t string passes.
Someone will soon justify the additions at the back with “defence wins you league” But jokes apart. If you want to achieve anything in life, the first place to start building is your fence (defense). That's why good teams attack from the back and defend from the front. That's why Liverpool paid millions for a goalkeeper and a defender to win the league and CL. Same did Man City and Chelsea. That's what Ferguson and Mohammed Ali believed. I know some people will misconstrue this and start arguing blindly. It's not saying only defense will win you league, or don't build attack. It is saying the best method is to start with strengthening defense first before attack. |

And let ESR stick to AM abeg, this one we're always attaching him to wingers AM can easily play as inverted wingers. With limited game time, he should master it because it's him Vs Maddison if the latter arrives. |

1. Arteta relying on a fellow player to make his final judgement instead of scouts shows none of our scouts deserve whatever they are earning. It also shows Arteta has never been a man for the job and is still not that man
2. Signing a player the coach hasn't really assessed for as much as 50m is just money laundering. Na so people dey launder money, like say dem wan clean the 50m at any cost It's just a recommendation |

Any rumor concerning front, without first selling, I just take it with a pinch of salt. Asensio presently sef, I no know how I wan grade am even He is a good player. This Maddison rumour is gaining momentum. I don't want to be hopeful, but I don't see why this club will not fork out 60m for an AM after paying what they did for a defender. If money matters makes us miss out on Maddison, fans will take it hard on Edu. |

I have not heard or read anything about him going on loan this season, I hope that means he gets first team looks. I heard the coach asked him to muscle up more. Ones he builds up, he will definitely get playing time. He's very comfortable with the ball, tackles well, and has that sprint. He may be one reason Arteta is dragging foot signing a CM. |

SporaD8: The tilting theory is not just it. Israel is not located on the north or south pole. As for the moonlight/twilight, You are brilliant! That's just the type of explanation am looking for. Thanks. Thanks. For the tilting hypothesis, offcourse I can't prove it. But it is possible. The movement of the earth about its axis is dependent on the gravitational pull of the sun, this pull is dependent of the distance between them according to Newton. If this distance vary over years (say 2000) then a minor tilt is possible which can lead to that phenomenon. It's a miracle remember. |

Also the moonlight appearing so bright is another possibility, though not stated exactly by the Bible story teller. Twilights and so are also possibilities. |

Henry is the best foreign striker that has graced the EPL, defenders don't like playing him. Even he returned to the emirates at old age he showed he still had it. ObaIgwe1: Wetin we for do na
We can't divorce our love for Arsenal na. Before Aston Villa and Everton displace us, Kroenke and Arteta will go. I saw your post above and that's the kind of mentality they know me for. I am always optimistic and believe in giving people the benefit of doubt- the chance to fail first before devaluation. One fact is that Arteta will manage the team in the coming season. This is something we cannot change, neither should we wish him to fail, but rather pray and support him. The decisions to spend a whopping 50m for a defender instead of an AM is surprising, but they are the professionals and would be held accountable by those who bankroll the club. I also believe that keeping the likes of Willock can go either way of a breakout season or a disaster, but then we should let them decide and judge after. That said, Arteta has been disappointing so far; and I believe the board should sack him if by October we are not within competitive level for the top four. |

I suspect the coach is hoping to use ESR as the main AM with Willian and Willock as backup. If Willock leaves (mostly on loan) then a deal is close. The club is preventing this as a make up for missing an AM. |

We still have kolasinac, torreira, xhaka, elneny, and all the CFs available. Even if na loan sef, dem no want take dem out. I wonder how we'll get to bring in our desired signings if to sell some of our players to make way dey hard.
Reason why after White, I don close shop for TW. If dem surprise me with important signing(s), I'll be happy Xhaka and Elneny are staying that's for sure. Elneny is just a training material, while Xhaka will make up for not getting Locatelli. The Xhaka deal was to fund the Locatelli deal, but since Roma aren't interested, and with Locatelli favouring Juventus, the plan has stalled. Xhaka is willing to stay and a new contract is already on the table. Bellerin is interesting Inter, and I think they have reached a personal agreement, so Arsenal wants to use the deal to attract Lautaro Martinez. Inter will be willing as they need money dearly, the problem is reaching a personal agreement with Martinez and Inter accepting what Arsenal will add on top of Bellerin. Cedric is attracting attention from Fenerbache. Even if that happens, I don't see a new RB, that's why we signed White. As at this point we need to sell in order to buy any more players. Except, giving a last minute change of mind, we could still land an AM. Odegaard or Aouar, but that's very slim. |
