iamoyindamola: E Dan happen, shey people are saying willian will take paycut. I just know stupid arsenal board will do otherwise. By the way, it's very rare to see a player pick arsenal ahead of others love London indeed. Useless club we are complaining about ghozil they added a 32 yo to another high pay list. Is this why 50 staff have to suffer on their behalf awon werey A large chunk of that is performance related bonus which includes Arsenal winning the league and EL. So William has his work cut out. I trust Edu. |

Jodera: Lol.. You'll be kidding if you think a whole ozil won't see a club who will offer him contract as a free agent. Esp in Turkey where he's revered, e sure me say one club will offer him contract cos he's free, even tho it'll not be this present wage. He knows that that's why he wants to milk as much as possible before settling for less I have no doubt he can get a club. Which includes Eyimba FC without playing for a year he would be lucky to get 100k per week. Even MLS clubs that love pensioners would not admit him easily. |

Jodera: Exactly.. He says so himself. I feel the alienating out of the squad is what is paining ozil. So he's using that to punish arsenal since he has nothing to lose. They should just find a way biko, else na we go suffer He has something to lose o. Because if he is not played for a whole year, it could lead to the end of his career. Otherwise huge pay cut. |

Jodera: During the pay cut, he can't give reasons then cos the corona issues was high. No one to grant him interview then. Seeing that the reason why the pay cut was to pay staff, yet they(arsenal) still retrenched many staff, I think he was proved right. Moreover, he wasn't the only one who declined, but why was only him named?
Before he gave his reasons today, I read an article then saying the 3 players who refused was because they weren't certain/sure what arsenal want to do with the wage cut(like arsenal didn't convince them enough). And so far, they seemed to be proved right.
Lol for the 2nd one, he said he loves arsenal and he wants to respect his contract. Isn't that what most clubs wants from their players? He said he's ready to play, and loves to play for arsenal for the duration of his contract .
Naim fault bdat?? They should just reconcile. If he wants to play out his contract, they should give him a fair chance, who knows a buyer might come in Jan. If not, they will still pay him to sit on the bench. |

afrodoc2: I was not actually advocating that you sell him. What i meant was IF you sell him NOTHING SPOIL. I have great belief in those 2 boys Martinelli and Saka. No fear and plenty of skill. They will deliver the goods if given the opportunity.
Also IMO playing Auba in this inside forward position hinders your game more than any tachere linkup play that Lacazette offers.
You guys should start Auba at CF while Lacazette can be his sub. Play real wide men like Saka, Pepe, Nelson in their positions. Martinelli can fight for shirt on the wings and as CF as well.
This 1 winger, 1 inside forward, 1 impotent CF formation is not working well. But we beat United with it. We beat City and Chelsea and won the FA cup with it. We can improve on it but if the question is if it works then it's a straight answer. Auba needs space and he won't get it playing centre. He has to shunt wide to find space. Yet we need someone at the centre to press and hold up play. In this formation, our CF is not the main goal outlet it's the wider men. The same applies to Liverpool. It's that simple. Auba playing wide does not make him the winger, it's just the formation, simple. That's why Arteta can use AMN at LB, this is so he can act as the winger when we push forward. Unless Arteta has other plans, I don't see Auba playing CF, |

kodded: all those players I listed have no place in the team
especially if we bring in partey and ceballos.
lacazette can go since it looks likely that abuameyang will sign a new contract.
AMN can also leave since arteta prefer bellerin to him.
the club is broke and we need funds to bring in arteta preferred players, I see no reason why we can't sell those valuable players that can not fit into arteta team. As long as there is a guarantee not just to buy but to get players with better quality and prospect. The Cedric Soares deal for example is not convincing as AMN seems to be a better deputy to Bellerin in that department. I do not want us to make rash and stupid decisions just because we are eager to sell. |

kodded: unfortunately no club is coming for those players you listed,
AMN, torriera, guenduozi and lacazette are our only valuable asset that we can offload this summer, the rest will rather sit out their remaining contract because no club will bid for them thanks to their high wages The way you used 'offload' like they are factory goods, yet you call them 'valuable assets'. Why would anyone offload their valuable assets? Were we relegated? Before you begin offload please onload new players with better skill set. |

BlueRayDick: If we have 2 decent top strikers nothing spoil. Its not compulsory Auba plays LW if we have good wingers on both right and left hand side that can serve him.
The second striker can always come from the bench or used together with Auba when the coach wants to adopt 4-4-2. Auba playing LW and scoring from that position only attests to his versatility So we keep Lacazette or replace him with a top striker. The latter like I said would be difficult and expensive. |

kokaneprodigy: in the real sense Auba doesn’t play on the wings, Laca drops deep to give space to drift in, most times when they play together Laca plays more like an SS.
However they don’t always have to play together, we need squad depth and selling Laca at this time is not a necessity. We have Europa, EPL, FA cup and EFL then we have injury. Chai. Exactly. How you come sabi ball like this? |

kodded: I don't think our main priority is to replace lacazette with another striker when we still need to cover other important positions in the squad, besides bringing another striker will affect nketiah and martinelli development in the long run.
I'm very comfortable going into next season with abuameyang as our CF and nketiah as his back up untill martinelli is back, we need to find balance in this team and the presence of lacazette is inhibiting that process, if we sign a very good striker, it means abuameyang will be forced to play LW again, and we all know how mediocre abuameyang is without his goals in that position. I am not doubting your opinion. What I am saying is that it is speculative at best. Martinelli and Nketiah aren't proven yet. So we need Lacazette, he won't score 30goals but we know what he can do. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Spy360(m): 2:02pm On Aug 10, 2020 |
kokaneprodigy: I concur,
Guys don’t always take a holistic approach when analysing a players performance. He’s a CF so let’s rate him with just goals . The presence of Laca and Pepe in the front line help create space for Auba. Auba doesn’t do well in tight situations reason he can hardly score the kind of goals Laca scores, reasons he hardly scores when being focused on by defenders.
Pepe and Laca pull defenders to themselves to create space for him (Auba) to run into reason he does most of the scorings and y’all begin to look at others like they are not performing.
It’s like telling Klopp to sell Firminho since he’s the CF but Mané and Sala out score him and watch their attack crumble. You sabi ball jare |

iamoyindamola: What's not guaranteed? You need to learn to throw off some over paid players stop the pitying game it got arsenal here. I don't see why martinelli that had more goals than lacazette before his injury playing on the wing can't replace or surpass him. I will gladly take nketiah too so that auba can be the main CF then create space for real wingers Being logical is not pity, it's being illogical not to evaluate ones decisions before taking them. You want only Martinelli, I want both Martinelli and Lacazette. I am more logical. |

afrodoc2: Lacazette has always been overrated. Martinelli will replace and surpass him easily if he can stay fit.
Sell Lacazette and give more minutes to Martinelli and Saka next season. Use Lacazette money to improve the defence and CM. Lacazette has 2 seasons left, we can still fetch a price if Martinelli steps up. As it is now, with our limited resources we must leave every option open. |
