You see that thing bolded there... That's one thing I feel you fail to grasp about our win. Granted we won man city with good defensive solidity, but is that how you want our solidity to be every match? Like always parking the bus against Liverpools and man citys and maybe Southampton and Aston Villas of the world? We know there's disparity between our team and those two, but that's why we packed the bus cos we're the underdogs. What I'm trying to say is, we can't use those 2(Liverpool and man city wins) as example when bringing up case of defending cos what we did in those two games was community/packing the bus defending which cannot be sustainable in a league if you're aiming for top4.

Talk your truth, if arsenal play that way(the way we played Liverpool and man city), against everybody in the league, will you still love the club, and would we go far? I'll leave you to answer that silently yourself.

Also I remember us beating a man city side 2-0 3-4yrs ago(cazorla and giroud were the scorers). If I were to choose between that 2-0 and this, I will 100x choose that one cos that have everything. We controlled midfield, we attacked and we defended well. And who were the important and highly rated players that match .....Cazorla and coquelin. Our midfield dominated theirs sotey Silva loss for pitch. We had shots and shots on target and our defence wasn't under intense pressure. That's the kinda arsenal I'm hoping and praying for not this fa cup type of arsenal that won man city.

We didn't say good defence is bad, we only corrected the point you made about arsenal midfielders helping out in defending thereby leaving leaving to feed on scrap

Good midfield + Good attack + average defence will get you top 4.

Good midfield + Good attack + Good defence will get you league or a title contender

Average midfield + Average attack + Good defence will get you top 6-10

Now that's an attack covering for bad defensive performance of the day.

On the contrary, Arsenal will pass to the side,back,side,back to Luiz who will then play long ball to the opposition goalie, then struggle to score from Auba and Saka's creativity.

Then go back to passing for another long period of time, only for the opposition to mount pressures which our defenders would resist/combat, but eventually capitulate and concede from one/two errors of the defenders.

And gbam everyone makes the defenders as the scapegoat.

Ceballos is a deep lying playmaker for arsenal. He isn't an Am. In fact, I think he's more of a cm than Am as a player. That's why I said we need an Am. To be fair, on the bolded, I think it's the reverse. It's a good midfield and attack that make an average defence look good, cos defence won't be under unnecessary pressure. The creative players will do their work cos they know they'll see more of the ball, so they'll be focused on attacking.

This is what happens when your team set up with CFs and CMs to attack, also when you have no quality AM/LW/RW with balls,vision and ability to drive and open/break oppositions.

Baba, I disagree oh! For a team that is quite fragile you have to worry about a drop in mentality when they come up against Aston Villa, especialy after emotional and mentally drenching victories against Liverpool and Manchester City. Coaches worry about a drop after big wins like we have done and we need to go into this fixture with the same mentality. If we lost the game, the approach would have been to redeem ourselves but right now, they have to maintain a standard and momentum and that is typically more challenging than the prior.

I think I am more excited about the prospects of watching Marcelo Bielsa, one of the most intelligent coaches in modern day football. I have written and raves about him in the past and now happy he has a chance to coach in the EPL.
