Emery should be blamed for Xhaka’s issue. You’ll never find me singling him out cos things could have been better if he wasn’t partnered with his love child week in week out. AFTV and a lot of fans here scapegoated him, you inclusive.

I think Emery created division in the squad (or couldn't prevent it) having his favorites and neglecting others or playing them in unfamiliar roles.

I feel, there were cliques in the squad, so he opted for the choice of having multiple captains which led to the decision of players choosing their own leaders.

I may hold a player responsible for his poor performance, but it ends after that match.

AFtv and you will condemn a player even back to when he was born. Like the Guendouzi issue, he didn't play against Bournemouth yet una carry him matter like Patience Jonathan ugelle for head. If he plays tomorrow and performs badly, it will lead to fans aggression towards him. Exactly what happened to Xhaka.

Fact is he won best club player couple of months ago and was nominated for best young prospect. Every match he started he deserved. If he hasn't started another, probably others deserved more than him. Besides he is not the only player to taste bench recently.

A better performance from Xhaka today but once again Torreira marshaled that midfield and kept it compact. Chambers and Martinelli definitely stood out. Overall, I loved the energy, positional awareness and discipline the team showed today.

Even though I expected more, I must say thank you to Freddy. It would be interesting to see what Arteta/ Arsenal does with his back room staff.

Yes, Xhaka played it simple today. But his one leg is not fun at all. We need two double footed midfielders at the double pivot position.

The discipline was there but it hindered free flow. They have to combine that disciplined approach with more movement especially in the final third. There was little connection between the wingers and the CF. Also the FBs didn't interchange properly with the wingers to create crossing situations.

A lot of improvements will be needed.

Unto the next game. Arteta should be at home.
