mystikal:
The problem with coquelin doing high press, is if eventually he intercepts the ball, what he does next with the ball doesn't pressure the opposition enough. Cazorla provides more with the ball than coq
When he plays with Cazorla, Coq wins the ball and locates him. Then returns to the base of the MF. Their partnership is ok, but Coq does more work- both pressing when we are without the ball, and sitting when we are with the ball.

But when paired with Xhaka, Coq only presses, he doesn't sit. Xhaka sits and also builds play. Cazorla only builds play, he neither presses nor sit.

My point is that, with time the Xhaka- Coquelin will give us more stability and steel in midfield than with Cazorla-Coq.

Suffice me to say...

It is remarkable that, the Xhaka- Coquelin partnership when it finally clicks may turn out to be even better than with Cazorla.

Both are good on the tackle, and while it's Xhaka who sits back and build from behind, Coquelin does the high press. Xhaka has got very good passing ability, and Coq very good tackling and interceptions.

Cazorla, though excellent in building from the back is poor at tackling and pressing. Coquelin does more work with Cazorla than with Xhaka. Which explains a poorer disciplinary record when playing with Cazorla.

What do you think?

Meanwhile, predicting the team to play Everton.
It's a must win for us to keep the pressure on Chelsea. Also, 3points here is worth 6 as it is expected that some of our rivals will drop points at Everton.

So true. Things could change come Feb. The thing is I do not really fancy us to winning the CL as much as te EPL. Though I want us to go far.

stop complaining and start proffering ways to defeat ur nightmare Mr man cool
Our current team are a lot stronger, more matured and more confident than the previous ones who lost to Bayern. Barring injuries, I have very little doubts that we can beat Bayern.

This is knockout phase. It all boils down to what happens on the night. I also think Wenger is tactically astute enough to plot Bayern's downfall.

No qualms.

Is there a season where we don't play either Bayern or Barca, be it at GRP stages or knock out? Meanwhile Leicester gets Sevilla, why always us?

TBH I wont worry as long as our natural starters are fit and Giroud doesn't start.
A good position in the league could give us the leverage come Feb. I do know that Bayern is weaker than thought.

My target self is EPL.

He and Bellerin get much needed rest.

Cazorla too.

FFS how many times won play Bayern.

Perhaps we should just take that scummy's advice and finish 3rd so we go play Europa, if we face Bayern there again then we know there is a covenant.
cheesy cheesy cheesy

The issue is not being able to beat Bayern. It's that we needed to get the easier option.

There was Benfica, Porto, Sevilla, and Bayer, why Bayern?

When Madrid was drawn, I was like huush! We escaped. Then I saw Bayern and was like, WT...blip.

Pep has won the CL the biggest trophy in European club football twice. He is not in the category of coaches like Wenger and Ranieiri who are European failures
Roberto Di Matteo has won the UCL, is he more successful or a better manager than Wenger and Raniery?

I am not talking of previous team, or previous form of a particular player. I am talking of the present team, and present coach, and the way the the team plays.

By the way, I've got nothing but respect for Carrick, I can clearly say Pogba is learning from him, and I hope Herrera also.
Carrick is aging. Mou has got to find a substitute before he capitulates. With games rolling thick and fast, his recovery ight be an issue.

If Wenger wins multiple cl then we can start to look at head to head when comparing him to Mourinho

Until Ranieri wins his cl title he will always be inferior to pep who has won 2. Even if he has all the head to head in the world
Man, you lie pass Lai Mo.

You called Raniery a failure. Remember.

And I asked, should a man who won the EPL with a weak side, and still beat a 'genius' like Pep who boasts the best squad in the league still be termed a failure?

Pep must win a treble this season or posterity will judge you.

A match doesnt make one world class its what you win. The years Allardyce was using Bolton to beat Wenger will you say Allardyce was world class?
Ranieri won anything? Yes. He is the EPL champ manager FYI.

He has also led an average Leicester to top of his UCL group.

I only pointed at yesterday's game as a reference meeting between both managers.

Ranieiri joined Juve he couldnt win the Serie A. Immediately after they sacked him Juventus have been winning the league what Ranieri couldnt

He coached Parma, Roma Inter Milana and Juventus. He failed monumentally at each of them

He took over Valencia as defending La Liga champs and landed them mid table in la Liga

There is a difference between success and success . Winning a local league is vastly inferior to those who win the CL
Let's say you call Raniery average, because he didn't win in Italy. Fine. I don't see how Pep is world class by winning in Spain and Germany with dominant clubs.

Again, Raniery will do same.

But let's keep those aside.

Both of them are now in EPL, UCL abi? Good.

Pep even has an edge having top players and in a bigger club.

How then is he world class and Raniery not. Remember yesterday's match. Please don't digress.
