Square65: Here you go ...The other one is larger than the 200kb limit, so I split it into 3 parts. |
justwise: This articles http://link.springer.com/chapter/10.1007/978-3-642-29336-8_23Here you go ... |
Congrats, Isobutylene! |
justwise: @imperiouxxWhat material do you need? |
@BigFrank, You always sound as if you are already in the system cos you are always on point, I like that. I have no doubt about you getting your visa. It reminds me of when I first started reading imperiouxx's comments and was later shocked to find out he had not even gotten his I-20! @Mckenzii, go for the rebound with all the advice you have been given especially with respect to your reasons for your choice of school. Wish you all the best. |

OjaP: US Immigration Reform BillExactly my thoughts. |
Thank God for your life, Tony. |
On the immigration bill, the proposal seemed to be still somewhat below my expectations ... Below are the highlights for anyone interested, http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2013/04/16/senate-immigration-bill/2086369/ |
Congrats to virgin ice! |
justwise: [/b]You have spoken. |
Happy birthday Mr OjaP. |
justwise: Those i highlighted will be done in Romance section, not here.I am thinking that will be too 'diluted' in the romance section. I think its also suitable here since its still part of 'life as a student in the usa except if there are restrictions as to whether posts here must be about tips on jobs, academics, business, etc I don't just see why romance part of life in the usa does not fit in well here ... but then you are the man in charge |
OjaP: Are you authorized to work? |
dkgetmuny: Yes I got admitted to West Virginia University, Safety Management, for Fall..(August)...I chose only it cos I ddnt think I shld choose more than one skoolGd. It's one of the lucrative courses around here. They have so many opportunities for internships talk less of job openings. Almost all the Nigerians I know in the program got internship or have a job offer already. That's why my wife is in the program too (left her nursing dream)Do you have any funding yet? |
dkgetmuny: i beg me m humble oo...me chose just 1 skool and the skool is WEST VIRGINIA UNIVERSITY...hope m safeYou are fine. What program are you coming in for? Have you been admitted? |
kpolli: They rejected me sef..... Said no money, imagineWill be there live at Indiana! |
OjaP: Is that the same Mt. Everest dem dey talk say make we dey avoid for this thread? It better not be.Lol ... Opinion on sch choices seconded. |
webstradamus: Can I join the talk? I dey find work too O!Waka go front my friend! |
2legit2qwt: Exactly! I asked the question a few times and she ignored it, not knowing if someone here could be of help to her. Privacy over a college open to the world? It ain't like we're asking for her social security number or anything like that.. HellloooooYes I noticed that... Me sef have tired inside the matter |
Maybe it's just me but personally, I don't see anything "private" about the name of the school you are attending not to talk of the school you are applying to. Come on! |
justwise: Hey! people......Justwise, I think we can still afford to accommodate a somewhat interesting topic just to keep the thread alive during this period of sparse inquiries. I would rather have it derailed a little bit during this period than have the thread in the state it has been for the last one month during when we had an average posting of abt 3/4 per day. And yes, I support that students/visa inquiries should be given priority. |
dkgetmuny: no I mean hope the VO won't frown at me bringin IELTs instead of TOEFL...NO, NEVER. Besides, what is your intended course of study? |
dkgetmuny: hi peeps..i want to know if we AV interview date available for MAY, cos dats when i plan to fix my interview...i hope IELTs is a good substitute for toefl...also can i book d appointment before filling d D-160 form, cos that form is too along..i plant to take my time filling it but will at least wanna tie the interview date pending. What Francis said is true and if you want to be doubly sure, confirm from the schools you will be applying to. Most schs state IELTS as one of the options to satisfy the English proficiency requirement and even if it is not on the sch's website, you can email them to ask and from my experience, most of them will accept IELTS. |
Happy belated birthday to the imperial imperiouxx himself. May this year be the best you've ever known yet! |
Better-person:Ha! ![]() |
Yvete: LOL you're perfectly fine where you're at. Degree choice is not necessarily a factor in getting sponsorship. The "jobs everywhere" are limited to those with EAD and ONLY if employers are willing to sponsor after graduating (to echo Geodarmy's post). That's the tough nut to crack right there! |
webstradamus: "My kingdom" is only but a county in yours. Na you be boss O! #PetroDollar$See winding of the highest order. *yimu* webstradamus: See close marking for I-Squared Act ... good to know I'm not alone in thisYes, that's the keyword I forgot to mention in my last post because even though denial based on section 214b would be scrapped, the index for determining a candid student visa applicant may even be more stringent. Make we still dey watch the action film ... |
The good thing about this whole immigration law overhaul is that it will favor visa applicants as denial based on section 214b will cease to exist. |
