Your friend was right jare, you are too old to get marry
I don't think any reasonable man will settle down with an old women cargo
Good luck with your search sha

I think that was a lil harsh and rude and there was no need for the name calling.
Let us have fun but respect each other's feelings.
Romance / Re: Is It Too Late? by ssRhino: 11:37pm On Sep 19, 2008
Dont even listen to pple like that, there is nothing like too late, ppls can get married at almost any age, besides, time has changed when pple must marry at age of 25 or 28, it can still happen,  however, you must be able to stand out of the crowd, you cant be lazy, with no job and bring nothing to the table, and expect a man to marry you, cos they will se you as a liability.
So sister, my advice is get something going if you dont have one, change ya wardrobe and change your steppings and shake what ya momma gave you and let them men drool, and you will be fine.
Good luck, but pls, dont settle for less, cos i blv in better to be singler than to marry the only fool on earth.
And if you decide to be single, you cld just have one kid jare, and you will be aiight.
NYSC / Re: How Relevant Is National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) In This Dispensation? by ssRhino: 11:32pm On Sep 19, 2008
so funny that someone wanna pay for NYSC time, na wa for Nija oh, i never knew that Nigeria has really gone nuts oh, s pple can even pay for such certificate too?
I am hearing this for the first time, that the important part is the first 3 weeks, pls guys confirm if that is true, cos i would love to experience it and what are the procedure to follow if someone never attended higher institution in Nigeria.
But i remember how i used to envy pple that wear that uniform.
I think the govt need to revamp the whole thing and make it a real true lasting experience for pple and not just a source for cheap labour.
Politics / Re: How Do You Like Da Naija Police? by ssRhino: 11:03pm On Sep 19, 2008
I personally think they are just "pussies" i think they need to learn that the uniform is not forever, cos some pple have worn it be4 them and some will wear it after they are all gone, i have witnessed so many incidents that is jst way embarrassing to even say, these are the Servers and Protector of my pple.

I remember last time i visited Nigeria, and i decided to give my sister a ride to the office, just for us to have fun, her office was in the mainland, and after dropping her off, i lost my direction, and i saw the "olopas" and i stopped by them to ask for directon, i was amazed when the dude ask me who i was, and i said my name, he wanted some ID which i provided, then, he said, i cld be a bad guy, so they have to seach me andmy vehicle, so i was worried, cos i just changed some money and had that on me and my foreign passport, infact, i was so pissed, so i ask the guy, would i stop if i was a bad guy, and that if the police cant be of help without harrasing the citizen, who else cld be of help.

I remember how many times in a day i get stopped at junction at Allen, but wat was funny was the fact that most of all that stopped me, later became the security for pple that buy cars off me, cos i just call them up and they will escort pple that just buy rides while they yet to register the rides, so that is how messed up they are.

Infact, i have too many encounters with them.
But i think i blame the govt more, cos if you think about th qualifications of some the police officer and you see how much they are getting paid, it will be impossible for them not to be corrupt, but them, the high rank officers that are well paid are still cprrupt.
But dnt worry, all will change.

Kobojunkie:

So you know all this?? @Rhino LMAO!!!

You bet i know all these, however, all we are trying to do or canvass for is a shift of mental thinkng, for us to change how we think and start thinking out of the box, and not just follow the crowd of follow a path based on how many pple are passing thru it.
Lemme make u laff, i remember when i wanted to start my car buz, and i spoke with a dude around me, cos i wanted to join force with him, the dude said, i shd start first and when he see how it goes, he will join, that is the mentality of our pple, fear of taking risk, fear of being the first to step in the water.
I beg, We we will do our best to see a better nation called Nigeria for our kids.

so, when will y'all stop talking and swing into action

Nigeria's problem never started in one day, and those that fails to plan, plans to fail, so swingin into action is not as easy as you say or said, we need proper planning and making sure we have pple that are willing to "swing' into action like you said.[quote

So, how many of you have actually called your senators to speak out on the issue of national constitution review going on in abuja?

Hahahahaha, Kobojunke, you always make me laff, lemme ask you, how nigerians will actually talk abt national issues if they have the chance to talk to the Senator, instead, they will pretend like all is well and started talking about how to get some contract or how to get some money for business, that is when Nigerians will wanna impress and start talking about some dead father and how they need money to bury am.
Kobo, i beg, lemme keep my mouth where it belongs jare, i no wanna laff today abt Nija, cos nothing to laff about, but still war never finish the place and that cld be good enuf reason to laff.
Politics / Re: Imagine This Kind Of Nigeria by ssRhino: 8:24pm On Sep 19, 2008
I think Nigerians has suffered too much that they cant even imagine a suffering-free life.
Too sad, but i am so sure and certain that things will change for Nigeria but not automatic, it will involve us all to put our hands on the deck and do our piece.

sojioguns:

It would surprise you to know that US spec of most Korean and Japanese cars are waaaay better than the crap that is sold here. Another thing, do not be quick to write off Korean cars. The new Hyundai Veracruz is one of the best selling crossover/SUVs in the US, almost competing with the Murano.

I cld see that i have been misread here, but lemme clarify what i mean.
Take Benz for example, there are american specs as well and German's
So same goes for Hyundai, they have american specs as well as base model that are being shipped to Africa for affordability.
For a ride to qualify as American specs, there are few things that are standards and wont be compromised, but who check safety and other stuff like gas emmission and stuff for cars coming to Africa.
So i do agree wth you that over the years Hyundai has become a houshold name in the auto industry.
Hope i am clearer now.
So all i am saying is that most of the ones out of America are just some base model and I heard they are selling for like 2.2M (brand new), so if i bring in America Specs and i am asking for 2.4M (brand new), pple will say, Rhino is overpriced.
You get my drift?
Autos / Re: 1999 Tokunbo Land Rover For Sale! Cheap by ssRhino: 6:41pm On Sep 19, 2008
promise72:

I think the reason why Rhino says that is because, the vehicles are sometimes refered to as Land Rover Range Rover here in the US. even officially. I've attended quite a few auctions in my lifetime and i thinks i've seen it as such. Only here in the US tho. Everywhere else, different story. cool

I just tire as to how they ave made naming of all rides so different sometimes in Nija, so confussing, but i keep learning everyday.

@ Poster, pls forgive.

Autos / Re: I Need A 2001 Model Of Honda Odyssey by ssRhino: 5:27pm On Sep 19, 2008
Fresh from yankee, you will be looking at something ranging from 1.5M Naira to 2.0M depending on the following.
Option of the ride
Mileage on the ride
If you are putting any money down to pre-order or if i am using my own money to finance it to Lagos.
Autos / Re: Looking For The Best Hyundai Elantra Deal. by ssRhino: 5:13pm On Sep 19, 2008
lawyerchap:

@Rhino,
Most people are interested in brand new Elantras, though i'm sure there will be quite a few who will make do with used ones. If you do bring in brand new ones, the challenge would be that you would have to target people who are ready to pay cash. I can tell you authoritatively that effectively 70% of the people on the waiting list for the Elantras are financing their purchase by some lease arrangement. But that having been said, there is a gaping hole in the market presently and anyone smart enough to capitalise on this Elantra scarcity is sure to make a killing.

Favourite colours are black, silver, gold and oxblood. There is general dissatisfaction with the light grey interiors that most of the Elantras come with as they are maintenance intensive. Some come with black/dark interiors and are coveted by buyers. So dark interiors are preferable.

Sounds like a good deal, i will work on that then, however, i think people in Nigeria has been spoilt with most of the junks that are sold to them, cos good american specification of a ride are better and cld be a lil more than what they are getting in Nigeria, but still, we can have a good deal her.

@ $$Rhino

thanks for taking time out to share together, actually l quite agree with you ,especially yr last paagraph.
he means so much to me .a father, friend and husband.its going to be a sunday.but im thinking of somany thing.
picture, gift, sovenoirs to very few people that will be there. clothes, watches ,shoes will be an understament.

really i want to suprise him and a way to say thank you for the love and care over ten years in marriage.

give me idea

If you are close to your pastor, since you said would be on a sunday, you could cook something up with the kids and just make him feel special, after church, let one of the friends invite him for some juice while you ave arranged things at the restaurant that you will be taking him, and as soon as they get to th restaurant, depending on how close he is to his kids, let the kids go ot first cos remember he wont be expecting you to be there, and you come after the kids and y'all read him a poem of how special he is, however, if he doesnt like poem, find out what he love and give him.
As per the gift, you guys cld get him a nice 3 piece suit, let the kids present him with a nice dress shirt with the tie and you and the kids cld now present him with a nice shoe to go with it all.
Good luck.

i like the suggestion of the other guy, however, since he said he doesnt want a party, he might feel somehow at the church in the presence of everyone ad besides, you dont wanna make enemies all cos you showering your husband with love.
Enjoy your blessing with smartness.
Family / Re: Need Some Tip For A Surprise Birthday For My Husband 40th Birthday by ssRhino: 4:20pm On Sep 19, 2008
Depends on how much u plan to spend.
You could do much if yo have the fund, from picing him at his office with a limousine and taking him to a nice restaurant where there are close families and friends waiting, as for a gift, renew you love to him, and you could as well get him a nice hand chain so that each time he wear it, he will remember you and i am sure, he will hold it close to his heart.

OR.

Have a friend of his to pick him at the office.
Have the friend bring him to a dream restaurant of his that he has never been to, the friend cld tell him that they need to discuss some buz, meanwhile, you and clos families and friends would be waiting there, and you guy cld sing him the song and seal him with a kiss and present him what you can afford.

OR

You guys cld catch a fun ride in a nice helicopter and fly over lagos while u drinking some nice wine and yu tell him how much he means to you and give him the passionate nite afterwards.
And for a gift, if you have 6M Naira, i cld arrange you a nice hummer and impress him with that.

Anyhow, happy Birthday to him in advance and pls note that it is not what yu give him that matters, cos u sound like yu already gave him ur heart and no other gift cld outweighs that.

Only a broke man will get to the store with the wife and see what the wife is buying and after calculating what he has in his pocket that will get angry for nothing, only a broke negro that will hate good stuff, so leave that alone and when a broke ass negro approach you, run for your dear life so that you dont get infested with "brokery" grin grin grin grin

This kinda post makes me sick
Landrover is a make and not a model, so what is the model of the ride u have for sale.
Landrover has the following in 1999

Land Rover Discovery Series II
Land Rover Range Rover HSE
Land Rover Range Rover S

So which one is yours or you have all the 3 model.

I will say Money, cos without money, the love will be half baked, and ave you ever heard that a poor man will drive his iyawo to another man's house to be laid, all for money.
A man that has no money cant get no love.
I am sure most babes will say, it is not about money and that their love "dont cost a thing" but let the push come to ~~~~, u will know say Money na koko

That will be a terrible thing cos there will be a possibility of the man spend more than they are making, meaning, he will even have to goa nd fight with the woman to get more money to spend, it is always a good thing for tthem to have a good budgeting going, else, they will run the home underground.
There is nothing wrong in the woman making more than the man, but becomes a crime, when the man spend more than necessary.

I there is a pros and cons to that Law
part of the functions and i quote
"Badejo stated that when the law becomes operational, it would become practically impossible for an unregistered auto dealer to operate in the state, adding that it would become illegal for anybody to personally sell vehicles without going through a registered dealer."

This means even if yuo have driven a car for a while and you wanna change it, u will have to go thru an auto dealer to dispose, and this means that if you wanna sell for 500k, the dealer will add another 200k as profit and a car that cld have been bought for just 500K will now cost like 700K or more, so tell me, who wins, and chances are that will take longer to dispose now, cos it is now out of reach of the common pple.
I hope they will make room for these in their law sha, cos every sane nation still have "individual sales"
