It is religion
It worked for the Whites and the Arabs why won't it work for our 'leaders'
The shiek of the mosque of Abuja said god is testing us with the insecurity and fools accepted
We are deeply asleep and only an earthquake or a 2nd colonization can wake us up

PrincessJr:
No! It’s sheer cowardice on our paths, we are just too laid back in this country that we have seen suffering and corruption as a norm. I hope for the day youths will stand up fearlessly and voice out to correct the ills being perpetrated by these old polithiefians... I pray that day is in sight

It is not about music alone, most things people sees in America as the best are not true in reality, American police are worst than SARS, they sees themselves like Rambo, security in American is nothing to write home about too many things wrong over there but they report that we are the bad one, we lack security, we are poor etc unfortunately we have allow that to get into our head and we are heading towards who they told us we are.

The real society we should have emulated are Japanese, Chinese, Australians, Germans, Koreans etc those are real healthy society not the fake Hollywood society we wants to copy.

It's history
The black man has no history beside slavery.
Our history in school is white/Arab history.
Ask a black child to mention his hero/heroine and you can be sure a white/Arab man would be mentioned.
The Asian, Caucasian and Arabs all have histories they are very proud of.
And of course we are saddled with thugs and agents as our leaders.

It's the dumb citizens that keep rooting for them
They treat them like fools coz they are foolish

TrashDetective:
Why are we so blinded by politics, ethnicity and religion that even the educated ones amongst us act like illiterates? even if President Buhari is ignorant about what it means to Commission a project, his handlers should know better.

President Buhari recently commission the uncompleted Oshodi-Airport road and the Oshodi transport Interchange.

What exactly is project commissioning?

Project commissioning is the process of assuring that all systems and components of a building or industrial plant are designed, installed, tested, operated, and maintained according to the operational requirements of the owner or final client.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_commissioning

Why should a responsible government go ahead and commission a project that have not been completely installed, tested and operated?

Why cant the presidency atleast care about the safety of Nigerians. How can you even guarantee the safety of users by swiftly commissioning uncompleted projects? a project that has NEVER been tested.

Aren't there any sensible individual in the presidency?

This abnormality has never been recorded anywhere in the world except in this APC lead administration.

We are back in the 90's where the youths were armed robbers but this time they are online,
They have successfully told us the North is in shambles because of Religion not because the youth are jobless and restless. The same reaction is playing out in the south, it's a business now and the police, EFCC are reaping in, honestly I doubt they would want it to end.
And for people talking about 'spoiling Nigeria's reputation' are you just fvcking waking up?

John Richard Archer (8 June 1863 – 14 July 1932) was a British politician and political activist. In 1913 he was elected Mayor of borough Brent, becoming the first mixed race mayor in London. He was a notable Pan-Africanist and the founding president of the African Progress Union.

If I give my car to a mechanic to fix, I don't care about the history of the engine, I just want it fixed,

These clowns are the best paid politicians in the world, but they are all grandfather's who use politics as a retirement package,

Stop trying to put the young ones on this thread to sleep like your folks did to you.

tactius:
Back in 1999-2003...Nigerians complained, and the argument then was 'We have had 15 years of Army rule...so all of you calm down'

Also, our forex needs were much less then, and even then, the economy was in crisis.

Infact, it took until 2003 when oil began rising, before we saw some 'improvements'.

Anyway, my argument is not to defend Buhari....my argument is to identify the cause of our problem...a reliance on the price of oil to run a good economy.

Ngozi Okonjo Iweala put this into perspective when sie said in 2015...THAT whoever took over in 2015...there was going to be a recession.

So, Buhari, to me, is not a good leader because like the PDP...he has no ideas to take us off our reliance on oil. Infact, he is looking for more oil.

Donald3d:
The problems of Nigeria would be fixed if we stop pointing fingers at politicians and fix ourselves, starting from a day old baby .
Our problems in Nigeria stems from our value system.

An average Nigerian is wired to have "long throat", you can even see that at parties and ceremonies, with people eating multiple plates, while denying they have eaten . They are not concerned that other people at the party would eat too, all they care about is filling themselves to the brim. This may seem like a "crazy" analogy, but think about it deeply, what politicians are doing is just a higher level of this kind of act.GREED.

Most people calling politicians thieves , would do the same or even worse.

Let's all fix ourselves and inculcate the right value system.Every other thing would fix itself. The government is only a reflection of majority of its citizens.

Politics › Re: Buhari Is Right; Fuel Subsidy Is A Fraud. by StaffofOrayan(m): 9:16am On Apr 24, 2019
I believe he meant fuel consumed domestically, hence his reference to PH refinery.

Anything produced and consumed locally is 100% determined by the cost of production. Especially when the market is not only guaranteed it is growing daily.

Just like real estate, just provide the houses and even before you paint the building, people are already offering you money.

grandstar:
This article was written by an economic illiterate.

How can you base value of a barrel on the cost of production?

I'm an estate agent and we are the ones that value old machinery that is to be disposed. Why are we called rather than a mechanical engineer. Because the value if a product is determined by market forces, that is the forces of demand and supply. It is not determined by cost of production.

If the value of oil was determined by production cost, no company will invest billions in drilling oil.

There are times when the market value is less than the production cost! The Saudis crashed the price of oil around 2015 in order to run American shale oil producers out of business. Many were forced to stop producing as the cost of production was higher than the market price
