I don't know of PR but you could get Critical Skills if you studied STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and if you're lucky too. Exactly |

I don't know why buying Dollars or rands is a debate. If you buy dollars is much more better than buying rands in Naija especially if you come to SA and change it in a black market and escapes charges and commission. Dollar is readily available in lagos unlike Rands so it makes it better to buy. |
Travel › Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by staggerlee: 7:57am On Sep 11, 2016 |
mojohnny: Because the Naira isn't stable at the moment it's advisable to change to rands I changed 252k Naira to 600 dollars in Nigeria and I converted this same 600 dollars to 7917 rands after they removed commission here. If I had changed the 252k to rand directly in Nigeria it would have been 6300 rand cos rand was 40 Naira that day. So I saved almost 2k rand by changing to dollars first. Why do you change your dollars in places that they will charge you commission? Do you know there are black markets in SA, just like lagos. |

I perceive that the letter of introduction will be written by the person intending to travel? I live in Kaduna, where will I get the vaccination card? Thank you! I live in SA, I am not too conversant with current realities in nigeria |

jackbanks087: Its a she and the only documents i got from her was her passport, national ID card and utility bill for this month thats all do she need to send her statement of account too ? Because for what i know am the one paying for my trip even the hotel. How is that ? So she is an SA citizen? That's probably why u were denied, the embassy will wonder how did u guys know each other unless maybe she is a nigerian decent or she has shown she visits Nigeria regularly. Yes her financial standing matters a lot, if not bank statement things like her work I.D, a letter from her office will go a long way cos the embasy does not want an "oloshi" to bring anyone into the country. If she is a university student, that's also cool. Mehn I need to start a visa consultancy biz asap |

So you wanted to come via an invitation? Did your host put in supporting documents, like his current immigration status in SA, his bank statements in SA, his lease aggrement, utility bills etc? |

Use the money you would hv used to buy rand at 26 naira to a rand and spend it in naija. |

Is it okay to introduce herself as a student or as just an independent pâtissier? @staggerlee She can use either of the two bank statements or she can use both, she should just make sure that whatever bank statement(s) she decides to use, there is more than enough cash flow in it. She also can introduce herself as a student who depends on her spouse for sustainance |

mzjennypher: @TokyoBulls or gurus in the house pls ow can i book paid hotels without using third parties like booking.com or hotels.com You can: 1. Go to a recognised travel agent like wakanow and tell them to pay for a hotel for you. 2. Ask someone in sa to use his/her naija debit card to pay for you in a hotel, you pay the person in naira, and the hotel issues you a receipt. You can also go to the hotel's website and use your credit card to pay online |

Zaigs: Hello y'all!
I've tried to read a few pages from this VERY LONG thread. Very insightful. Wise ones, pleas help me with the current/recent information regarding applying and processing the SA visa and the documents needed. I understand I can get an application form from vsf global. My brother plans to travel to Pretoria for 5 to 7 days, in october. When's the right time to apply for visa?
Anticipating a response. Thank y'all! We have addressed this so many times on this thread. Dox needed includes 1. Hotel booking or invitation letter 2. Flight reservation 3. Letter of introduction 4. Bank statements 4. Vaccination card. You can not use free cancellation reservation to get a visa, its advisable to use paid hotel booking |

By the way, its winter in JBourg now, your budget would not be sufficient. Visa application cost, flight cost, hotel, feeding, transportation, exchange rate differentials, winter jacket and medicine. Winter is virtually gone though still cold in the mornings and evenings, but by sept 1 its officially spring |

A friends want to apply for admission but will start by September for SAQA and d processing. hope its not late.I will appreciate better explanation Student visas is only issued for the first time in your home country, doing SAQA in september is so late, unlesss your school does not require saqa for admission |

DebossG: Currently in cape town. Omg! This country is very developed. This city can be compared to newyork. No one should ever compare nigeria to south africa in terms of development and infrastructure, they are not comparable.
The city is even way more developed than the people lol
From the Airport, you will begin to see a modern country. Why is nigerians being punished with bad leaders, what did we do wrong.
I passed through nairobi airport and you cant even compare nairobi airport to mmia.
Nigerians need to travel out and see how our leaders have robbed us off the good things of life.
What a shame. Truth be told, nigeria has failed africa, is a shame. Have you been to New York before? |

Got into SA over the weekend via Cape Town and noticed everyone had to do fingerprints and take photographs. This is entirely strange to me as a frequent traveller but the immigration woman said its a new development. At times I go in and out of SA like 6 times a year and have never seen people doing this though this is my first time traveling into SA via Cape Town, always come in through OR Tambo. So please keep your records clean in SA. |
