Zuma fires 15 ministers including Pravin and Jonas (his deputy) . I respect Zuma sha he is single handedly destroying S.A. |
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said the latest attack at a motor park in Polokwane in the Limpopo Province of South Africa, in which two Nigerians were involved, was not a xenophobic attack. The ministry in a statement signed by its spokesperson Clement Aduku, noted that though there was no reported loss of live involving any Nigerians, two Nigerians were said to be injured and properties destroyed in the latest fracas. The federal government however, called on the South African authorities to live up to expectation in maintaining law and order as well as the protection of lives and properties, particularly of foreign nationals. The ministry lamented the incident is coming barely few days both Nigerian and South African Governments successfully proffered solution to the issue of xenophobic attacks against foreigners in South Africa. Part of the statement read: “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has received reports of alleged renewed attacks on Nigerians in South Africa. Such reports, coming on the heels of the recently concluded and highly successful dual-layered engagement with top officials and parliamentarians in South Africa, including members of the civil society, give cause for concern. “Contrary to media reports, the recent incident was a scuffle that took place on March 14, 2017 in a motor park in Polokwane in the Limpopo Province in which two Nigerians were injured one of who has already been discharged from the hospital and the other receiving treatment. “The ministry has received no report of casualty or death of any Nigerian in this latest altercation though some properties were reportedly destroyed in the ensuing escalation. From all indications, the recent incident does not constitute xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa.” The statement however assured that Nigeria’s Acting High Commissioner in South Africa, Martin Cobham is working in close partnership with the Consul-General in Johannesburg, Godwin Adama in liaison with the leadership of the Nigerian community and relevant officials of the South African Government, to ensure that the situation does not escalate. “Meanwhile, the ministry calls on the South African authorities to continue to take firm measures to maintain law and order, including the security of lives and property in the country such that Nigerians and other foreigners in South Africa may continue to go about their normal businesses without let or hindrance,” the statement added. https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2017/03/23/fresh-attacks-on-nigerians-in-safrica-not-xenophobic-says-fg/?utm_source=&utm_medium=twitter |

South African Border Officials Detain Political Analyst Omojuwa (snapshots) - Travel - Nigeria https://www.nairaland.com/3663498/south-african-border-officials-detain |
Walewummi:Please go ahead I have heard these stories over and over again and the person still comes top of the class. You will cope very well |
Juwohn:Its their country and they have right to fight against anyone that pollutes their country, yea right including extra judicial killings. Nigeria is our country and that yeye communication company that sold sim card to terrorists we will deal with them extra judicially too. Do you think is SA people that are not tribalistic? Zulus are not advised to marry Xhosas, you wait till white people leave and foreigners leave. The only reason ther tribal conflicts is not glaring now is because they have a common enemy which is white man. |
Juwohn:Defend another man's country o, xenophobia is good, support it or rather justify it. Like I say I am a permanent resident of SA and won't close my eyes to the truth. South africans don't want you and I, I have lived there and I know, don't decieve others |
Olamilec:I said this in 2015, but na small small, this is just a reflection of the failed government in SA and xenophobia will only get worse |
staggerlee:I wrote this jan 23rd, many people shut me up, Femiaction even quoted a release from DHA that it was false, please your lives are precious. I am opportuned to some privy information and I will share. We have got info that South Africans have made plans to start attacking foreigners most especially Nigerians, it will look like robbery, but it is deliberate. Please don't take this likely. Walk in groups and don't stay out late. |
The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has given 48 hours ultimatum to all South African companies in Nigeria to relocate over the xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa. The students gave the ultimatum at a peaceful demonstration at some South African companies in Abuja on Thursday. During the march the students carried a banner, which read: ‘’NANS against Xenophobic Attacks on Nigerians.’’ While the students marched, the security men stood and watched to ensure law and order. The President of NANS, Mr Kadiri Aruna, said in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) at DSTV office, a South African company, in Wuse 2, Abuja, that Nigerian students had resolved to condemn the attacks. “We are saying that enough is enough as South Africans have openly attacked and bullied Nigerians.’’ Aruna said that the protest would also serve as a warning to other countries trying to underrate Nigerians. He said that after 48 hours, if nothing was done, messages would be sent to students in all university campuses to bring down MTN masts all over the country. Aruna said that DSTV and Shoprite would also be affected as the union had put adequate strategies in place to make the action effective. “All the South African business empires in Nigeria and their collaborators in Nigeria will be affected. “I don’t want to say we will be barbaric but we will not be lawful in our actions, we will do it and face the consequences, enough of this rubbish,’’ he said. Aruna stressed that the poor treatment being meted out to Nigerians was particularly insulting given the role Nigeria played in ending the apartheid regime in South Africa. “Nigeria contributed 80 per cent of the freedom the South Africans are enjoying today because we saved them from the jaws of apartheid. “Who is South Africa to humiliate Nigeria? So they forget things so soon, let them go back to history and records to see how much financial assistance and what the country did to save them,’’ he said. The union president said that the situation was inhuman and for this reason all reasonable Nigerians must react. “In science they say you use malaria to cure malaria, now you use madness to cure their madness, and that is why we are advising them to leave Nigerian soil before 48 hours.’’ He said that the Federal Government should not wait till the dying minute before evacuating Nigerians from South Africa. Aruna said it was time for government not to only condemn the attacks but take a firm stand by summoning South Africa’s high commissioner and if possible cut diplomatic ties with that country. “Government should take extra-diplomatic measures in dealing with the latest deadly assaults because if nothing drastic is done it will become a regular occurrence. “This is the time to place South Africa where it belongs,’’ he said. He said that the last time the xenophobic attack happened nothing was done, no action was taken and no arrest was made and that was why South Africans repeated the attacks. Aruna said it was so unfortunate that during the attacks the South African Government refused to take up its responsibility of securing Nigerians and their properties. “The government of South Africa is criminally quiet and they say silence is consent, and their police are folding their hands while they are killing Nigerians, this is conspiracy, enough is enough,’’ he said. He said the peaceful rally would continue and spread across the country. Over 50 police and, DSS operatives surrounded the DSTV premises and along the street making it impossible for newsmen to contact any DSTV officials for comments. |
REPOST Trevor Noah Posts There are about 2.3 million Immigrants living in South Africa, this number includes other Africans, Chinese, Bangladeshi, Indians, middle easterners and Europeans who are not born in SA. out of this number, only 1.6 million are Africans. The 1.6 MILLION Africans mostly run small shops, vending, service industries etc. They may lay claim to less than 0.00001% of wealth in SA. Whites in South Africa makes up about 8.7% of the population and controls over 85% wealth. Though there are increases in black CEOs and managers, these are mere servants and just a optical presentations. There are about 6000 Europeans families who own over 85% of agricultural lands in south Africa. So when I hear south Africans claiming that other Africans are competing with them on dwindling/scarce resources, I say that your anger and outrage is misplaced. African immigrants don't own lands, don't run companies, don't own mining companies, don't operate trophy hunting companies, do not ship out capital to European banks. Yours is a complete misplaced anger, prejudice and xenophobia built up out of inferiority complex created by decades of apartheid and oppression. I don't see fellow African as a competitor but a fellow compatriot who is struggling to feed his family and have some comfort in this short life-time. If you feel undeserved in wealth distribution, please research again who controls that wealth and it has nothing to do with some Nigerian, Zimbabwean or Mozambican working in a restaurant or Ethiopian running a small shop, or a Ghanaian mechanic working hard in the sun. There is zero excuse to hate or despise any African at all, there are no merits for it and it's baseless at best. When African Immigrants living in SA start owning like 20% of wealth and not hiring SA natives, then I will be on the streets with you to protest. Till then, if you hate fellow African for simply running a simple store, you are nothing but a buffoon, slowpoke who was prematurely circumcised and never grew up. Base your hate on facts, not inferiority complex. That's all. |
justwise:Actually I thought about this that her husband might be sending fake papers because if the husbad has a genuine business in SA, SA will gladly give her a visa |
https://www.nairaland.com/3637189/xenophobia-africans-attack-nigerian-businesses We were warned about these attacks |
Ojcrown:You have a right to a visa as long as your husband is in SA legally and earns over R8500 a month. This is so straight forward |
Teed89:It is always better to pay |
Processor01:A lot of people are stuck to other countries and can't come back because they have nothing to come back home to. A lot of Nigerians know that SA isn't good for them but have no choice. People like myself took the courage to come back because we are privilege, it takes a lot of guts to come back to Nigeria which a lot of us don't have |
Processor01:So what was the class number in 2015, 2016 and now? |
seangy4konji:I don't know about UAE but on SA visas and permits, I know a whole lot. I have assisted noted less than 5 people on this thread to secure visas in SA and from Nigeria am a registered immigration consultant in SA. I am not faceless people know me on this thread |
seangy4konji:Don't get it twisted if the visa stated 2 weeks but expired 15th of feb 2017 and the official at the POE stamps 3 weeks and the 3 weeks elapse before the 15th of Feb the she has a case to stay beyond 2 weeks. But her own case is different, her visa expires 5th of feb, the 3 weeks the POE official gave her is elapsing after the expiration of her visa, my dear better go back to naija before or on the 5th of feb. If you doubt me go to an home affairs ofice for clarification (I just hope you don't meet another dumb officer that will say something totally different) |
seangy4konji:You believe? Ok please what law? It is clearly written on her visa 5th of feb. And an immigration officer extends it without proper procedure and you say it is fine, come on! South Africa that even some immigration officers are ignorant of the laws. I have seen someone that was turned back at OR because they said the stamp that was used on his passport when leaving SA a week before was fake yet it was properly stamped. The guy was going to be deported thank God for his wife that is a South African that was traveling with him that raised an alarm it took the supervisor on duty to clear him. I know SA very well, officials are as clueless as sh*t. I see people with so many mistakes on their permits, like someone's student visa instead of University of Cape Town they wrote "University of University". The thing is when the complication arises, it might cost her a whole lot that's why I avoid if I can. Another thing is no law in the world can allow an official to increase your stay in the country beyond a the date written on your visa without due process, what he/she can only do is reduce your stay or refuse you entry if he is not convinced. He can't give you more time |
Processor01:My advice is simple if the visa says a date and immigration officers stamp another date it is better to follow the date on your Visa especially if the visa date comes before the the date of the immigration officer gave you. SA officials are never consistent. Please dont complicate matters. |
femiaction:Any country will deny the news, but please stay safe. My message was not to cause panic but to keep you guys safe. I have never been robbed in sa before because I dont just go anywhere, l am also very aware that in SA I am a foreigner so I am very careful |
