The CPC’s claims, as repeated in General Muhammadu Buhari’s recent media publications, that the 2011 Presidential Elections, despite its overwhelming acclaim by both local and foreign observers who adjudged it to be the best so far, were massively rigged hence their Presidential Candidate Gen Mohammed Buhari was “robbed” of victory at the said polls, is an absurdity that cannot be supported by any facts. General Buhari in his petition to the presidential Electoral Tribunal had no grouse with the results in the 3 Geopolitical zones in the North where he won overwhelmingly, and the south west where the PDP lost all its Governors etc, leaving out only two Geopolitical zones that is south-south and south east, where his alleged massive rigging Therefore, by inference, even the CPC agreed that elections in four (4) out of the six (6) Geopolitical zones were averagely free and fair. This implies that elections in approximately (4/6) 70% of the entire country remained essentially free and fair. In a developing Country that in itself will ordinarily go for a pass mark. http://pointblanknews.com/pbn/press-releases/why-gen-buhari-must-stop-inciting-nigerians-about-alleged-2011-election-rigging/ |
Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima says no amount of attacks can lead to the Islamization northern Nigeria. The north is too big to be Islamise by any terrorist group.” Shettima said The governor said his administration will continue to introduce policies and programmes aimed at alleviating poverty in the state. Shettima stated the state and Federal government is currently winning the fight against the Boko Haram terrorist stressing that all hand must be on deck to ensure a total success against sect. “This is the last lap of our fight against the boko Haram sect,I believe we are winning the battle but you all know that the last lap of every relay is always stressful and very demanding hence all hands must be on deck.” http://pointblanknews.com/pbn/exclusive/boko-haram-cannot-islamize-nigeria-borno-gov/ |

Nigerians are getting bolder daily...this story sweet me eh...danfo driver turn actor...no be small thing. |
An irate mob Friday descended on a member of an armed robbery gang that snatched an undisclosed amount of cash meant for the salaries of workers of an un-named private company in Warri, Delta State, killing him on the spot. Other members of the gang, which operated on a motorcycle (“Okada”), reportedly escaped with the said huge sum of money believed to have been withdrawn earlier from a commercial bank in the area. This is as a courageous mini-bus driver popularly called Danfo foiled an attempt to snatch N3 million from a lady who withdrew it from a bank in Apapa as he hit the armed robbers who had shot the girl and snatched the money from her. THISDAY gathered that the some angry bystanders ignored the fact that the dead robberysuspect was armed with a gun and shooting sporadically at those who gave him a hot chase. However, the chasers did not relent even after four persons were hit by stray bullets from the desperate gangster until he was overtaken and caught. According to eye-witness accounts, the unfortunate bandit was chased from the Enerhen Junction area on the ever-busy Warri-Sapele Road and was eventually apprehended and beaten to death at Okoro Street a stone-throw from the NUJ Warri Chapel Press Centre. In the Apapa incident, eyewitness account has it that immediately the lady came out from the bank, she was accosted by the robbers who were on motor bike popularly called okada who shot her in the leg before taking the money from her. Luck however ran out on them when they were fleeing with the loot but unknown to them, the Danfo driver was watching them and suddenly hitthem and they fell with the money scattering all over. They started shooting sporadically on air to scare a crowd that had gathered but they refused to give way. After exhausting their bullets, the crowd caught up with them while one of the robbers who tried to run away after the police had come to the scene was gunned down while the other surrendered. The lady was taken to an undisclosed hospital in Apapa for medical attention while the police took the dead robber and his colleague to their station. http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/suspect-killed-as-bandits-on-okada-snatch-workers-salary/124386/ |
My point is in support of what the Lawmaker said. Why the insecurity in Nigeria seems to be out of hand is due to the publicity some idle minds give it via the social media. Some even spread bomb scare and terrifying rumours through the social media. If u follow international news, u'll see that some countries' cases are more pathetic.
SO? |

lagerwhenindoubt: Against a teeming hoard of blissfully-gullible and infinitely returded populace; Intelligence has no power. but let me tell you what does? Religion, Hate & Violence, Politics & Corruption this is the scheme our Leadership continue to play on her citizens over the past 53 years. How often have we heard of the brightest minds in Nigeria working in Government who have not fallen to the might of the Corrupt or resigned out of frustration. If we (the people) do not stop self-sacrificing our hope for mediocre performance and stand solidly behind competent leaders, we only have ourselves to blame. it will be interesting to see how this present Power-Streak holds up when Flood-Rains recedeName two competent persons you would stand by if they decided to contest for president |
